American Bride Eileen has some seriously talented friends. Those amazing silver shoes she wears for the reception? Oh, just designed by a friend. The quirky menus printed on napkins? Oh just designed by ANOTHER amazing friend. The cute heart shaped confetti made from vintage books? Oh just lovingly hand cut by her family. Eileen is a lucky girl!
I love how she and Andy have incorporated UK and US themes into their day. The couple chose Stoke Place as their venue because of its grand American house feel, yet it definitely still retains a distinct air of British-ness. It really was the perfect place for them. This is a gorgeous wedding, so simple, elegant and timeless – and Eileen is so right, you don’t want your décor to upstage the actual love part!
Eileen The Bride: Our perfect venue was Stoke Place in Stoke Poges. I knew immediately as we approached the beautiful manor house that this was where I wanted to get married. I am American and the architecture reminded me of Estate houses found in the Southern United States and that made it special for me. We hired the venue for exclusive use which meant we could celebrate into the early hours and our family and friends could stay there with us. It was absolutely perfect. Michelle Mehmi was our wedding coordinator and she, along with the amazing staff made our day completely unforgettable.
I was inspired by an image from the 1960′s for my hairstyle and I wanted my make-up to be more on the natural side and not too overdone.… View the full post.
Way back when in March I bought some sexy spiky nude Zara shoes. They are actually super comfy (Honest!) and not so sky rocket high I fall over.
To the point where I have worn them to DEATH.
Yes they have nearly died – scratched, dirty and kind of…bendy. But never fear. I have found some awesome ALTERNATIVES.
Hello there the KANDI court from Office. A lovely shade of peachy nakedness with a metallic perforrated toe cap. Think a lady that lunches but with a penchant for leather biker jackets and too much eyeliner.
Sigh….I love them more than cake.*
Big Shoe Love
*This is clearly a lie. But I do love them A LOT.
P.S I obviously bought a back-up of the Zara shoe once I realised there usefulness. Ahem….still in the box.… View the full post.

At the weekend I found my W-day shoes.
There was a gasp, clapping then a little dance as I realised how comfortable they were.
Yes I realise I am almost three years too late but I bought them anyways – the perfect shade of the palest nude with a feminine pointy toe and a rock n roll edge.
Oh and did I mention they were only £39.99 from high street favourite Zara?
Uh huh -cheap as chips. And they look far more luxe than you would expect.
So what are you waiting for lovelies? go forth and purchase.

We got engaged 11 months ago and I officially get married in 3 months and 2 days. I can’t actually believe where the time has gone. Suddenly it all feels very *real* and like there really isn’t much time left to get the rather long list of remaining jobs done. Panic!
Stationery was one area that we were determined not to spend very much money on – mostly on the basis that it all gets thrown away after the day. Shortly after we were engaged, I rushed off and ordered some charcoal grey & green invites from VistaPrint. I have to say they were very efficient, nice quality and extremely good value so if this is an area you don’t want to spend much on, then Vistaprint are definitely worth a look. However, I then changed my mind about the colour scheme and so they all went in the bin – not quite the cheap option I was aiming for! I then trawled google images to find something clean cut and contemporary in turquoise or orange that met my new set of criteria – not as easy as I thought it would be.
Everything was flowery or swirly or had images that just weren’t me. The typographical ones that I loved were seriously expensive. I looked at doing it myself but I’m not gifted in the graphical design capacity so that wasn’t a viable option either. Then one day I was idly browsing Etsy trying to work out what all the fuss was about (I was not sold on Etsy in the beginning!) and I found a design I liked but in the wrong colours.… View the full post.
Now I don’t know about you, but I feel like summer is on it’s way out. Early mornings have a slightly chill in the air, the nights are definitely starting to draw in and I’m already hankering after a piping hot Baileys Hot Chocolate…
Yesterday we even announced the winner of our Autumn Pinterest competition and as much as I love snuggly knits, knee high boots and crunchy leaves I’m DEFINITELY not quite ready to let go of the sunshine and all of the light and vibrant colour it brings. It’s still August for goodness’ sake!!
So with that in mind…today I’m delving into a world of floral print. Versatile and oh so summery – I refuse to believe that there isn’t a floral print out there for everyone! And I’m hoping today you’ll see something you love. Whether whimsical, vintage or bold – floral print provides endless pretty possibilities…
Are you ready to join me in Autumn denial??

If you are undecided on a colour scheme then why not have a bit of everything like Hannah and Nick? I’m a fan of mis-matched bridesmaids and this way all of your best girls can choose a shade to suit. Incorporating all the colours of the rainbow also means you can go to town with your bouquet and Hannah’s is particularly pretty.
I also enjoyed reading about the food aspect, as a guest I would definitely be impressed by spiced barbecued joints of lamb…..and the cake of course.
Now then, if I was to choose a shade for myself to wear I think it would be the coral. Or maybe the yellow? Hmm….perhaps the green?
Happy Tuesday lovelies.

I’m not sure we’ve ever featured a wedding inspired by Mary Poppins before…but it’s a genius idea! Especially when your venue of choice has it’s very own carousel!!
For regular readers, or anyone who has been researching venues for a while, you’ll have guessed that this wedding comes from the fabulous Preston Court. Which not only has a carousel, but also fairground organs and beautiful roaming peacocks.
Just like the classic family film Mary Poppins, Gillian and Paul’s wedding is full of fun, smiles, singing and dancing. They even brought along their adorable pet bunny Poppy. Gillian looks as flawless as Mary herself too, and her lace edged veil is so feminine and pretty.
