American Bride Eileen has some seriously talented friends. Those amazing silver shoes she wears for the reception? Oh, just designed by a friend. The quirky menus printed on napkins? Oh just designed by ANOTHER amazing friend. The cute heart shaped confetti made from vintage books? Oh just lovingly hand cut by her family. Eileen is a lucky girl!
I love how she and Andy have incorporated UK and US themes into their day. The couple chose Stoke Place as their venue because of its grand American house feel, yet it definitely still retains a distinct air of British-ness. It really was the perfect place for them. This is a gorgeous wedding, so simple, elegant and timeless – and Eileen is so right, you don’t want your décor to upstage the actual love part!
Eileen The Bride: Our perfect venue was Stoke Place in Stoke Poges. I knew immediately as we approached the beautiful manor house that this was where I wanted to get married. I am American and the architecture reminded me of Estate houses found in the Southern United States and that made it special for me. We hired the venue for exclusive use which meant we could celebrate into the early hours and our family and friends could stay there with us. It was absolutely perfect. Michelle Mehmi was our wedding coordinator and she, along with the amazing staff made our day completely unforgettable.
I was inspired by an image from the 1960′s for my hairstyle and I wanted my make-up to be more on the natural side and not too overdone.… View the full post.
Way back when in March I bought some sexy spiky nude Zara shoes. They are actually super comfy (Honest!) and not so sky rocket high I fall over.
To the point where I have worn them to DEATH.
Yes they have nearly died – scratched, dirty and kind of…bendy. But never fear. I have found some awesome ALTERNATIVES.
Hello there the KANDI court from Office. A lovely shade of peachy nakedness with a metallic perforrated toe cap. Think a lady that lunches but with a penchant for leather biker jackets and too much eyeliner.
Sigh….I love them more than cake.*
Big Shoe Love
*This is clearly a lie. But I do love them A LOT.
**Not One but TWO pairs of shoes to be won right here, right now.**

At the weekend I found my W-day shoes.
There was a gasp, clapping then a little dance as I realised how comfortable they were.
Yes I realise I am almost three years too late but I bought them anyways – the perfect shade of the palest nude with a feminine pointy toe and a rock n roll edge.
Oh and did I mention they were only £39.99 from high street favourite Zara?
Uh huh -cheap as chips. And they look far more luxe than you would expect.
So what are you waiting for lovelies? go forth and purchase.
We got engaged 11 months ago and I officially get married in 3 months and 2 days. I can’t actually believe where the time has gone. Suddenly it all feels very *real* and like there really isn’t much time left to get the rather long list of remaining jobs done. Panic!
Stationery was one area that we were determined not to spend very much money on – mostly on the basis that it all gets thrown away after the day. Shortly after we were engaged, I rushed off and ordered some charcoal grey & green invites from VistaPrint. I have to say they were very efficient, nice quality and extremely good value so if this is an area you don’t want to spend much on, then Vistaprint are definitely worth a look. However, I then changed my mind about the colour scheme and so they all went in the bin – not quite the cheap option I was aiming for! I then trawled google images to find something clean cut and contemporary in turquoise or orange that met my new set of criteria – not as easy as I thought it would be.
Everything was flowery or swirly or had images that just weren’t me. The typographical ones that I loved were seriously expensive. I looked at doing it myself but I’m not gifted in the graphical design capacity so that wasn’t a viable option either. Then one day I was idly browsing Etsy trying to work out what all the fuss was about (I was not sold on Etsy in the beginning!) and I found a design I liked but in the wrong colours.… View the full post.
Jodie and Matt were married at the Lillibrooke Manor. Their new surname was Bean so all of the invites, table plans, table names and even favours were bean related… The tables were named after different types of bean, the favours were engraved plantable beans. So personal and so much fun a the same time.
Jodie is a graphic designer, she focused on all the details and everything looked beautiful, even the rain couldn’t put a dampener on things. … View the full post.
I do love a feather. And I especially love a feather in a bouquet. Becky’s is lovely – so many colours and textures. I very much like the cool/kooky meets 20′s fashion styling and there are some really original ideas such as a table plan on a mannequin (!) and lanterns filled with blooms as a table centrepiece. Becky’s headpiece is also something special – the art deco design works so well with her pretty red pout.
Becky and Paul are childhood sweethearts and their little boy Mason is the one of the sweetest members of a bridal party I think we’ve ever featured, you will probably want to borrow him for your own big day in fact. Cuteness overload folks.
Well this is fun isn’t it? A giant yellow striped deck chair is definitely a good indicator of a wonderful wedding…
Briony and Ben themed their wedding around Ben’s job as a professional magician (I know, how awesome is that?!) So old-school magic posters and vintage carnival games were their first port of call. And I know you’ll agree that they did a great job, the whole day looks like an absolute riot!
It’s also rather lovely to look at too – Briony looks achingly elegant in ‘Lady’ by RMW Fashion Pack member Suzanne Neville, accessorised with pearls, her maids look divine in their milky latte coloured gowns and just wait until you see the bright red vintage jag that Ben whisked his Bride away in!!
And as if that wasn’t enough, the gorgeous bouquets brimming with roses, peonies and achillea were created by the lovely Karen at Passion For Flowers – who most definitely comes with a RMW seal of approval!
Right, that’s enough talking, let’s get on with it shall we?
