Slate Grey, Single Blooms And Star-Spangled Shoes.

Cover

American Bride Eileen has some seriously talented friends. Those amazing silver shoes she wears for the reception? Oh, just designed by a friend. The quirky menus printed on napkins? Oh just designed by ANOTHER amazing friend. The cute heart shaped confetti made from vintage books? Oh just lovingly hand cut by her family. Eileen is a lucky girl!

I love how she and Andy have incorporated UK and US themes into their day. The couple chose Stoke Place as their venue because of its grand American house feel, yet it definitely still retains a distinct air of British-ness. It really was the perfect place for them. This is a gorgeous wedding, so simple, elegant and timeless – and Eileen is so right, you don’t want your décor to upstage the actual love part!

American Architecture

Eileen The Bride: Our perfect venue was Stoke Place in Stoke Poges. I knew immediately as we approached the beautiful manor house that this was where I wanted to get married. I am American and the architecture reminded me of Estate houses found in the Southern United States and that made it special for me. We hired the venue for exclusive use which meant we could celebrate into the early hours and our family and friends could stay there with us. It was absolutely perfect. Michelle Mehmi was our wedding coordinator and she, along with the amazing staff made our day completely unforgettable.

RMW Rates – Nude Shoes With EDGE.

Way back when in March I bought some sexy spiky nude Zara shoes. They are actually super comfy (Honest!) and not so sky rocket high I fall over.

To the point where I have worn them to DEATH.

Yes they have nearly died – scratched, dirty and kind of…bendy. But never fear. I have found some awesome ALTERNATIVES.

Hello there the KANDI court from Office. A lovely shade of peachy nakedness with a metallic perforrated toe cap. Think a lady that lunches but with a penchant for leather biker jackets and too much eyeliner.

Sigh….I love them more than cake.*

Big Shoe Love

*This is clearly a lie. But I do love them A LOT.

P.S I obviously bought a back-up of the Zara shoe once I realised there usefulness. Ahem….still in the box. … View the full post.

RMW Recommends – Spiky Sexy Shoes.

At the weekend I found my W-day shoes.

There was a gasp, clapping then a little dance as I realised how comfortable they were.

Yes I realise I am almost three years too late but I bought them anyways – the perfect shade of the palest nude with a feminine pointy toe and a rock n roll edge.

Oh and did I mention they were only £39.99 from high street favourite Zara?

Uh huh -cheap as chips. And they look far more luxe than you would expect.

So what are you waiting for lovelies? go forth and purchase.

What Shirley Did… Stationery, Shoes And Dresses.

We got engaged 11 months ago and I officially get married in 3 months and 2 days. I can’t actually believe where the time has gone. Suddenly it all feels very *real* and like there really isn’t much time left to get the rather long list of remaining jobs done. Panic!

Stationery.

Stationery was one area that we were determined not to spend very much money on – mostly on the basis that it all gets thrown away after the day. Shortly after we were engaged, I rushed off and ordered some charcoal grey & green invites from VistaPrint. I have to say they were very efficient, nice quality and extremely good value so if this is an area you don’t want to spend much on, then Vistaprint are definitely worth a look. However, I then changed my mind about the colour scheme and so they all went in the bin – not quite the cheap option I was aiming for! I then trawled google images to find something clean cut and contemporary in turquoise or orange that met my new set of criteria – not as easy as I thought it would be.

Everything was flowery or swirly or had images that just weren’t me. The typographical ones that I loved were seriously expensive. I looked at doing it myself but I’m not gifted in the graphical design capacity so that wasn’t a viable option either. Then one day I was idly browsing Etsy trying to work out what all the fuss was about (I was not sold on Etsy in the beginning!) and I found a design I liked but in the wrong colours.… View the full post.

Flamingo Fun For A Colour Filled Wedding.

siofraandcraig

I think judging by the image above, it’s fair to say that Siofra and Craig’s wedding is going to be seriously fun…and it doesn’t stop with neon pink flamingoes either people – there are all sorts of treats for you to swoon over this morning!

Siofra is a very creative lady, as is her lovely Mum, who is an artist. Between the two of them they’ve created a wedding masterpiece.

There’s Mexican papel picado-inspired bunting that RMW Real Bride Summer would be proud of, a wire chicken, oversized paper roses and the most random use of a model train set I’ve ever seen at a wedding – complete with a miniature wedding party. (Look out for the rather inebriated young lady…)

And the fashion isn’t half bad either…Siofra looks effortlessly sleek in Sassi Holford, complete with vintage kid gloves and mint green Jimmy Choos. Her maids look gorgeous in gowns of various shades of pastel and Craig looks every inch the modern Groom in a blue Ted Baker suit with an absolutely delicious button hole.

Right, that’s definitely enough talking…let’s get on with the pretty shall we?

Manolos And Sparklers In The Garden.

Elizabeth-And-Manassah

I’m not going to lie to you, I’ve been suffering a case of the green eyed monster ever since I clapped eyes on Elizabeth and Manassah’s wedding namely because of the exquisite fashion that bride Elizabeth sported on the day itself.

Firstly there are the royal blue Manolo Blahniks as sported by both Carrie Bradshaw and Olivia Palermo on their own wedding days swiftly followed by the bespoke Matthew Williamson inspired feathered evening frock topped off by a heavenly lacy gown by White Rose. Honestly Elizabeth has the most wonderful sartorial taste.

And I haven’t even begun to tell you about the florals (you need to see Elizabeth’s bouquet!), or the naked cake or the cutesy rustic table plan or the beautiful jewellery made from the buttons of Elizabeth’s grandma’s own wedding dress.

Oh and there’s the sparkler send-off…yep an actual send-off with hundreds of sparklers amongst which Elizabeth and Manassah shared a passionate kiss or two. In my opinion wedding day kisses are the absolute best!

A Wintery Black Tie Wedding At Castlemartyr.

Kiara-And-Gregg

Who is in the mood for an ultra glamorous Black Tie affair set against the wintry backdrop of Castlemartyr in Ireland? Well you’re in luck because we have exactly that in Kiara and Gregg’s delicious wedding this afternoon.

And these two are hot. Like seriously HOT. Perfection right down to Gregg’s shiny shoes and Kiara’s sparkly toes bringing with them a serious dollop of Hollywood glamour to these pages for our delection.

The pair opted for a winter wedding at Castlemartyr partly for sentimental reasons and partly because they felt that the venue would be just as beautiful on a cold wet winter’s day as it would at the height of summer and I have to say that they weren’t wrong. I adore the colour palette that Kiara has integrated into her wedding – all soft minky greys with subtle golden undertones and a dash of dusty pink – perfect for the time of year.
