A Delicious Fusion…..part 2

Is planning W-day confusing? Can you not quite decide what “style” represents you both as a couple?

How about just not worrying about it and combining a whole bunch of whatever styles and details you really love to make your Big Day thoroughly unique?

Because that’s exactly what Kelly And Stuart achieved in their June wedding photographed by the lovely Craig Williams Photography.

The Love Bus

We chose to hire a Campervan from VW Love Bus and we chose this purely for pictures, we went on a 2 hour drive in and around Rendlesham Forest with our photographers it was so much fun!!!.

Let Them Eat Cake

We chose Kitty’s Cakes, they were lemon and vanilla sponge cakes, decorated with wild flowers and black ribbon, they were soooooo tasty.

Fulfilling Expectations

We loved our Craig Williams Photography’s pictures on their website and when we rung them they made us feel so comfortable. We loved it that they were so young and approachable, they just were so different to all the other photographers they new what we wanted and completely fulfilled our expectations.

Black And White

We chose Scratch cards for our favours as we wanted something to fit in with our colour theme and we could just buy the black envelopes to put them in, we also brought the heart paper clips from Paperchase, which we feel added something different.

Rock N Roll

We chose a band called The Milkshakers they are a 50′s rock and roll band and they fitted in with our theme perfectly.

Making It Special

Our wedding was so special because of the venue and everyone we had there, our wedding was small and intimate with everyone we loved there. If you are thinking of planing a wedding do not be scared to be creative and don’t follow what everyone else does. Remember its your day so you can do what you want.

Talihina Sky

The song we chose was by The Kings of Leon called Talihina Sky we both love the band and love this un-commercialised song.

Anyone else just mixing it up a bit?

Who said your wedding had to have distinctive “labelled” theme anyway?

Not us folks.

With thanks to Kelly, Stuart and Craig Williams Photography for sharing the W-day love.

Big Mixing It Up Love

I could not agree more with the idea of not having a “theme”. I think weddings without themes, unless the theme is all around good fun, love and laughter are just going to date. The rage at the minute is obviously vintage vintage vintage but unless you go for the more elegant theme of vintage your photos will date in five years and no one wants to feel like people who had puffballs in the 1980′s feel now.

Here’s to more non themed more traditional weddings

Yay, I second that! The theme of our wedding is us, having fun, with all our friends and family :)

    r.now x x x

  3. The ducks are brilliant – so different! And her groom is so cute – lucky girl! xx

I have fallen in love with that table plan! And black ribbons and wildflowers on the cake? Sheer genius. What an inspirational day.

A the Theme…..I could have written my long-awaited novel in the time I spent panicking over the lack of cohesive Theme, convinced that not having one would display to the world that Mr K and I were doomed to failure due to having nothing in common. Safe to say, it wasn’t necessary!

OK – I need to know two things:

    1) Where I can get the ‘Let them eat cake’ letters?

    and

    2) Where I can get the paper origami for the table? I’ve seen some on Cox and Cox but they are all French love phrases which are a little bit too slushy for us. Does those ones say ‘Party’ and the like?

Thank you thank you thank you!

ps LOVING the whole thing – especially the flip flops!

They do the cake letters in my local card shop (Serendipity in Newcastle). They are either SIA or Giselda Graham and are £3 for each letter which is a total bargain.
Just spotted the table numbers, genuis idea. I’ve seen it done with numbers i.e. the couple holding a number, but not with the people on each table. Fabulous idea. Love it. “Borrowing” it.

I have definitely been seeing more of this rustic/contemporary fusion lately. And why not? When you can’t decide between the two (because I love them both!) why not have your cake and eat it too? This wedding pulled it off perfectly!

  11. Hi ladies

So glad you like it, I just love the relaxed fun vibe.

Rebecca, I didn’t have a theme either, just a mixture of things we loved. It was as simple as that.

The table idea is genius – so simple yet so creative.

My theme is ‘we’re getting married’. Confuses the hell out of people ;-) x

  13. Ha Ha ha Holly that’s hilarious – and brilliant! x

  14. H says:

This wedding rocks. I love the fact that they’ve mixed things up and not made things too matchy matchy. I think that there are bits here to inspire all brides, no matter what style of wedding they’re after.
    Oh, and best.table.plan.ever!

  15. Kelly says:

Thanks guys for all your lovely comments about our special day, and it was just as fun as it looked!

Livy – We got the printers blocks from the website ‘Not on the High Street’, and the table decs were from Paperchase.

  16. Alev says:
