Rebecca, Adam and I spend a lot of time wondering, pondering and discussing what we think you gorgeous lot would like to see more of on Rock My Wedding ( seriously, like A LOT of time).
And actually do you know what? I’m just going to ruddy well ask you outright.
We are slowly creeping towards our first birthday ( yup – can you believe?)…..and it’s nearly time we have a look at what worked in the last 12 months ( erm – and what blatantly didn’t) and how we can make the next 12 even better. What with so much going on in the background development wise, I want to make sure we don’t let the “face” of RMW slip and that we continue to evolve, improve and inspire.
I am particularly interested in what you guys think would make decent “discussion” posts – the Say It Because You Mean It readings entry yesterday for example and our skin care debate in Peaches and Cream week proved really popular – what else do you guys want to TALK about?. As you know we haven’t got a forum function but there’s no reason we can’t produce some post entries that begin a string of comments that help you guys out with W-day planning (…. or just life in general)
It’s a short and sweet Saturday post today lovelies, have a fabulous weekend and if you’ve got a wee sec don’t forget to leave us suggestions in the comments section.
Ta Muchly.
Big Tell Us What You Want Love

Ooooohhh, I would like more real weddings as always, skin care, SHOES help (for all occassions, let’s talk WELLIES), more diy floristry from Becky at Blossom, more readings (maybe separated into civil and religious-readings week??!).
And I realise I’m pushing it a lot here, more three post days??!!!!
If it ain’t broken… xxx
I have just thought of something – more foodie posts would be great.. Alternative ideas for wedding breakfasts etc. xxx
Of course, more real weddings of all shapes and sizes are always going to be a hit with us lot!
However, I would like more posts about what it means to be married, about life PW (post-wedding), and the meaningful parts of the wedding day (alongside all the pretty parts as well)
The last couple of beauty posts have been fab – getting real advice from all you gorgeous ladies is so helpful
And I agree with Rebecca – shoes, shoes, shoes, shoes!

Speaking personally, I’d like to see some weddings – or even one (!) where the bride/groom are older than the ones you usually feature. I’ll be 48 when we get married next year, but we’re having the works, dress, veil, bridesmaids, reportage photographer, big country house venue, wedding weekend etc etc and in fact are spending a lot more than either of us did the first time we got married.
So, much as I love the gorgeous weddings you feature here, there are a LOT of women getting married again who have now got the money and inclination to do the whole thing as beautifully and stylishly as younger brides – just a thought
RMW I have never posted on a website before but you really are fab – you brighten up my day every single day and have given me so much inspiration. iIm sure this applies to lots of people but planning my wedding is by far the most fun i’ve ever had and stealing 10 minutes every day to read your lovely blog reminds me how lucky I am to be in this situation – with a fabulous boy, planning a really fun day with all my favourite people, then being Mrs R for ever more!
The readings post was soooooo helpful. It would be great if you did one about ceremony music too! I am walking down the isle to “Wouldn’t it be nice” by the beachboys but we are struggling to choose some music for whilst we sign the register?
Any ideas – we obviously have songs that mean things to us but i would like cheerful but fitting songs.
Also, I agree with Rebecca, more DIY flowers would be fab (and if you could do yellow and white displays/bouqets that would be AMAZING as I am going to try and do my own).
xx
You already do a great job!
I personally love the holiday posts, it gives me great inspiration for my honeymoon or other holidays.
Also love the clothes, shoes and make up, especially the make up tutorials.
More readings are great, I’m another one who collects quotes, so I love to see more.
As part of the Brides-That-Were Brigade, I love the following posts: makeup, fashion, travel, interior design. So the “lifestyle” posts. Although I do adore real weddings, DIY flowers, and dress posts too.
We want more Adam! (altogether now!)
More graphics, more random musings of provocative nature (provocative controversial, not provocative racy!), more rants, more What The Wife Likes, more surfer’s paradise, more behind the scenes, more guest posts.
Now go and have a lie down! (except Adam, who must write some more posts)
I tend to agree with loulou!
I love this site, but as I am now married I would like to see more about home and after wedding life posts.
My best friend is getting married soon and as Matron of Honour (as now married!) we love to trawl through this site to look at all the beautiful weddings, she finds the DIY flowers and post for those with a smaller budget more helpful!
Oh I had to add…
We Want More Adam!
Anna K you made me giggle!
What Anna Said.
As an already Wed, I really enjoy the posts on interior design and wedding decor that can be adapted to the home. I also really enjoyed the Party organising type posts like the Hen ideas, baby shower and Cool Britannia Party posts as I love a stylishly themed party. I of course LOVE the real weddings and think I always will!! Keep up the good work x
As another one in the married brigade am very aware my interests are slightly different to someone planning their wedding. I love seeing all types of weddings. I love the posts which can apply for which ever place in life you are. Party planning, make up, loving Fash Flash, what the wife liked, holidays, behind the scenes seeing familiar posters weddings, hmm what else. Main and most important thing is the general supportive friendly stylish vibe that lives here. Ps how wijl you celebrate one year? A gorgeous party perhaps?
pps A post on first wedding anniversary paper gifts?
After a two week holiday of constant wedding chatter and spending the odd day of rain reading RMW on my laptop out loud, I have just received a text off my man that read… ‘You know I secretly like doing some of the wedding stuff don’t you!’
I think this speaks volumes – and he is far from what you would describe as Metrosexual.
More posts that can be shared as a couple would be ace
XXX
Like Annie, I’d love to see something on ceremony music. I loved the readings post and think a music one would be really helpful for those of us who want to make our ceremony as meaningful as possible but are currently clueless about what to pick!
Would also like some more hen party suggestions, as I don’t fancy dressing up like a playboy bunny and drinking twice my own body weight in alcohol!
Having said that, I love RMW and wouldn’t change a thing. You’re by far the best blog (wedding or other) I’ve seen. Keep it coming girls (and Adam, who could help loulou out and post some more boy-type stuff for all the HTBs out there)!
xx
I agree with people on: foodie stuff, cermony music, and DIY flowers!
Also, how to solve skin problem products rather than general. I currently have a forehead that’s a Mecca to shine and my pores are large enough to host their own solar systems.
More of the same, love the real weddings. I’m bridesmaid for my best friend next year and my sister is getting married. I’ve directed them both to this blog and your giving them inspiration.
Definitely agree about the readings and ceremony music, and also religious readings.
Oooh oooh. The nitty griity of a wedding please. Something that enables us bride to bes to talk about what food they’re serving, what time their band started, did they do canapes etc. It’s the little things that you don’t think about until you plan your own wedding
And more “what the wife likes” (although my bank balance does not agree!
x
I have been engaged for 8 months now and I read rock my wedding every week. It has seen me through my planning/freaking out days as my wedding approaches… only 12 weeks to go now and I think that the only improvement I could suggest (not at all originally) is more real weddings.. I love seeing how other people celebrate their w-day and stealing all of their great ideas!
Agree with Anna K on the Brides-that-were thing – even before I was married I liked ‘What the Wife Likes’, now I am married it’s the post I look forward to most of all!
Shoes and DIY flowers (particularly I am tackling the idea of pew ends at the mo, v.expensive from the florist for what they are) would be good ideas. Part of me worries that a discussion forum as per one of the bigger wedding magazines might cheapen feel of the site, I don’t know. Stuff about post wedding life might be lush too. Love the site though, really it’s taken over the number 1 spot from alot of the America blogs I read.
post wedding stuff would be great. maybe book recomendations, mother of the bride stuff.
more from Adam as it would have been great to have the mans point of view on weddings.
xxx
After reading about Charlottes wedding on YAYW (just before they took it off) i have become an absolute blogging addict and have found nothing that compares to this blog either here or on American blogs.
RMW is totally unique qnd I have to have a least 3 peeks a day incase i miss something. Whilst organising my wedding (only eight weeks to go) RMW has given me the confidence to be slightly querky with my wedding planning, and must admit I have stolen lots of ideas.
Now i find myself coming back whilst finialising details, and going back and looking at different articles on make-up, exercise, flowers and even music!
Charlotte I hadnt reallly heard The goo goo dolls before but they are amazing!! and PM’s Love Theme is gorgeous.
More recently have found the make-up advice fantastic. I did have a make-up artist booked but have been let down. So i thought blow it, now have a lesson booked with Mac and Im going to do my own. Save some money and have some lovely products to keep!!
More makeup!!!! more clothes!!! more shoes!!!!
I love RMW xxx
I would really like to see more european weddings! there is a massive expat community as well as mixed nationality couples who as yet are almost not catered for!
Wedding traditions of other cultures are always so fantastic to see!
Bring on the bread and salt from Poland
The 7 course meals from Sweden
The veil dance and wedding games from Germany
this is what I personally would love to see. Of course the eurosheek versions!
I would really like more discussions on things like how to handle wedding politics, advice from other readers that had tricky situations and how they solved them, i.e guest lists, seating plans, bridesmaids that dont get on.
Also it might be nice to hear from some of the grooms of the featured weddings. Their thoughts on what was important to them and how they felt on the day.
Maybe some more alternative weddings such as getting married abroad. One of my bridesmaids is getting married in Vagas next year so it would be nice to see how other people have dealt with the challenges of long distance wedding planning.
Hi Ladies!
Just wanted to say a massive thank-you for giving up a little bit of your weekend to help us out, your comments have given us so much inspiration!
Adam and I are just designing the new real bride submission form as there are a few things you guys have mentioned that we could include really easily in the future, catering/food choice/music selection etc that we don’t necessarily ask about at the moment.
I absolutely agree on featuring brides of all different cultures, ages, shapes and sizes, we are on a mission to give you gorgeous lot variety – watch this space!
Oh and Adam? he’s been told. DO MORE POSTS!
Charlotte xxx
Already love everything you do, the real weddings of course, but the beauty features have been great, v modern and affordable – more of those please! A honeymoon/diy travel section would be brilliant, stylish honeymoons for different budgets, off the beaten track etc… xx
I think a RMW Birthday Party Get Together is in order! London pls
Have been pondering your question since you posted – what else would be good?
Its a difficult one because you have a great blog. The post you did a while back about music was really great. It inspired me to think it through and talk about it with my man. It would be great to know more about people’s wedding music – the same with readings, more on these type of things would be good. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you add that to the submissions form! I also really like the variety of posts here. The fact that you don’t just post weddings, you talk about clothes, make up, holidays, I’ll be married in two weeks time and it will be some of these things that will keep me coming back. Finally, more posts from Adam would be a very welcome addition
I do understand that this is a wedding blog and as a (finally) happily married, I just can’t keep away.
I love the weddings which are featured and find myself getting caught up in all the excitement and gorgeousness of them all, however i would absolutely love, love, love more on
* Beauty (especially love the tutorials and must haves)
*Fashion
*Interior
*Travel – I have saved some many of your site suggestions esp love lane!
I have never felt more “in the know” or more fashion/beauty clued up since I started reading this blog. I also love the gorgeous little sites you find, livelifelove and juicylucy have become my new favourites and I hoping that they’ll be some sort of post on anniversary gifts esp for 1st and maybe 2nd & 3rd and also I really, really need help with christmas shopping if you please
Keep up the good, much appreciated hard work lovelies
Some creative BM gifts ideas would be nice!
I live in England but I’m planning my wedding in Northern Ireland and have found it really hard to find reliable websites or blogs that could recommend venues/florists/caterers/photographers. If you have any Norn Iron titbits then I would totally totally appreciate them because I love the weddings that you show, and your DIY ideas.
Big W’day love xx
As a recent B2B, I adore this blog. Seriously, I should probably spend ess time here and more time doing actual wedding planning! But even more seriously, thank you fir helping me realise I CAN have the wedding I want on the very very small budget I have, with some creativity, DIY and good friends!
I agree with wanting ideas on wedding music, and I think hen party ideas would be great. My sister is my maid of honour and I think we have rather different ideas about what we’d like from my hen party. Any slightly different ideas to look into would be fab. I also agree in the foodie stuff, supplier and ideas always helpful!
Finally, on a personal note, very very waterproof W-day make up?! I can’t be the only B2B certain to cry buckets on the day. I need to find a way to cry at least semi-attractively!! Please help!
Ah, Katie F, fear not, I have the secret to seriously run-free makeup! I escaped looking like a goth on W-day because I used Benefit’s She Laq which is a sealant you can put over mascara, shadow and lipstick. It is Genius. And it means you can use makeup you like and not have to switch to waterproof versions.
Real Weddings! Real Weddings! And more real weddings!! I LOVE them!!! Everyone of them gives me inspiration!
I have just booked my photographer Jay Rowden after seeing one of his weddings on RMW and because I cam through you guys I got 10% off!! Amazing!! More of these brilliant discounts would be fabulous in the next 11 months please!!
I’m so glad I found this website…it is now a daily habit…breakfast, emails, RMW!!!
Some more food ideas would be great too as I haven’t picked my menu and would like to choose something that people would really enjoy!
Thank you for brightening my engaged-life!!
Kxx
hi, well i love RMW- it brightens my day everyday! i dont think you need to change anything really- seeing as im just at the start of my wedding planning (i have to admit this has been my favorite site for some time, even before the question was asked!) a post on getting started would be amazing- its a minefield out there- where do you begin?! advise from brides who have been there and done it would be amazing- just to help start the planning as i have loads of ideas but just dont know where to start!! i also agree with some of the other comments- posts on music and food would be great!
What about more ideas on theme weddings.. ie decorations for venues, food suggestions etc to match the themes. Like New york style weddings, London……….(tastefully done though as you always do)
I like the combination of posts on here and I think if you lean it too far towards the fashion/beauty/interior design slant (I know it’s popular with the already marrieds) I think you may lose the essence of the site – it’s called Rock My WEDDING after all! Perhaps a spin off site as well as maintaining the balance of different interests on here?
Something I’ve seen mentioned on here before, but not above, is cost. It would be interesting to know a ball park figure for a wedding (either over all or individual aspects). I know it’s a personal thing but it’ll give brides to be an idea as to whether it would fit into their budget (and if not, how about some cheaper alternatives for those with less cash to splash?).
In the alternative, I’ll just settle for more of the same, please!
Anna K, you are my heroine, thank you!
Really don’t want to look like a blubbering mess in my W-day photos! x
As a regular reader (addict?) of RMW I would have to say that the first year has been a blinder!
I think there are tons of great suggestions in all the comments above that would be great to see on here. Speaking selfishly, I love the W-related posts that you can take and use for other stuff too. My only reservation is keeping it as a wedding blog rather than a fashion/music/make up/holidays blog. However, once I’m an old married, I’m pretty sure I’ll be changing my tune!
It would be great for all the readers to be able to tap into the creativity and knowledge of your audience, the comments help with this to a certain extent so yes, more posts that invite ‘discussion’ (as opposed to ‘comment’) would be fantastic. How about some kind of ‘top tips’ section for great advice from readers (though obviously with a better name than that!)?
this has become waffly so I shall stop
big anniversary love
r.now
PS you should DEFINITELY have a party!!
Oooo interesting!! Well I do love the blog as it is, you’re the best out there without a doubt. However, here’s my 2 cents, as they say!
Love the real weddings most, so as much, if not more of these please!!
I agree with music ideas as mentioned above; I thought the readings post was excellent so more of that. Maybe ideas for own vows??
Definitely more wedding fashion posts, always a fave, with more SHOES please!!
You’re all ace, keep up the good work xx
Hi ladies,
Bit late seeing this post but I am another old married who still visits RMW, I love the beauty and fashion posts, also the travel recommendations/places to stay etc post have been really great.
One thing I would say is as much as I love seeing the real weddings I think there needs to be a bit more variety of wedding going forward to inspire new brides, the weddings you feature are beautiful but I think we have seen enough LOVE letters and DIY photo booths a la Charlotte’s wedding (this isn’t a criticism, your wedding was stunning!).
More posts about life after the wedding day as well, being married is the best, let’s rave about it! xxx
Not sure if people have already made this suggestion, but as my wedding is still a year away, I have been seeing loads of ideas, but suspect will struggle to find them in 4 months time. As such, categories across the top would be awesome and more tagging throughout the text – real life brides, flowers, cakes, favours, dresses, accessories, post-wedding. That way, if I search for accessories, anything that has been tagged and categorised as such will reveal in the search.
Cheers
Laura
Same for me as others have mentioned – More real weddings!!! More shoes, more daily posts 2/3 just isnt enough
