An Elegant Wedding… Part 1

April 29th, 2010 by Rebecca@rockmywedding Leave a reply »

I do love a modern colour pallet for a wedding and I fell in love with this one for the Bridesmaids dresses – unique style found on the high street, in a directional colour and modern style in a beautiful stormy blue-grey colour. And yet the whole wedding has such an elegant refined and classic feel. Coupled with the photography from Jodie Chapman, who’s work I just love more and more each time I share it, this wedding is just beautiful.

Over to Elaine the Bride, to share the details and thank you to Jodie Chapman for providing the images.

The Venue

We chose Pemboke Lodge, near Richmond for our ceremony and reception.

The Dress

My gown was an Ella Sofia gown from Ella Bridal. I always wanted a simple gown which I knew would suit my petit frame.

This was the one after trying on 20 gowns across town! The veil was a gift from the dress maker at Collezione Sposa at Great Portland Street.

The Hair and Accessories

My pearl earrings were a gift from my friend Winnie and my two lovely matrons of honour Joan and Kathleen (by Mikimoto in new Bond street) and hair accessories were something borrowed for the day from Joan.

Hair and make up for the bridal party was done by Chiko, a friend of the Matron of Honour Kathleen. We were all very happy with the results!

My shoes had to be platform at least 3 inches high to make up for the height in photos!

The Flowers

Flowers were done by Lisa Furnell at White Cabbage. I had chosen Sweet Avalanche roses for my bouquet and button holes for the groom and best men.

The matrons of honour and flower girl Isla all had Avalanche bouquets to match mine. I also made it simple and asked for Avalanche roses to be displayed on all the tables. They were lovely.

We also had small lanterns outside the patio overlooking the park and small pink roses in shot glasses on each table.

Be sure to pop back tomorrow to see the rest of this truly lovely wedding, more of the bridesmaids dresses, and more of Jodie’s beautiful vintage style photography. *Sigh*

Yours Truly,

Rebecca
xoxo
