....Squad Goals! What a seriously stylish bunch of beauties Annie and her best girls are in their all-white ensemble (not that I am biased or anything as I did the same for my own wedding but ahem, they look knockout). And it just goes to show you can bring botanical meets rustic to a city venue, Nottingham Contemporary Art Gallery looked beautiful with an eclectic mix of urban cool and lush greenery. The bouquets are to die for, all corals and peaches and pretty. And what a wonderful time everyone had, the laughter and joy radiates from every single moment captured perfectly by Dale Weeks.

Bridal Look

Annie The Bride: My dress was handmade by the incredible Emma Ojapah. I described my idea of creating a two piece top and skirt to Emma and she created it! We found the lace together and Emma made the entire thing within a matter of months. The dress truly is a one off and I couldn’t recommend Emma more to brides looking for a designer with style and an eye for detail. I wanted a pair of flat white sandals that would be delicate but discreet and found them in Urban Outiftters! My hair was done entirely by one of my bridesmaids. I had planned to put fake daisies in but on the morning of the wedding couldn’t find the ones I bought anywhere so we picked some real ones instead!

Florist

My flowers were put together by a wonderful local florist The Flower Shop Beeston who created the bouquets with only a very vague description to go from! I’d described the ‘just picked’ look with an emphasis on greenery. I really wanted peonies and eucalyptus leaves in there but other than that I was content with anything in the pastel colour scheme.

Venue

The Nottingham Contemporary is one of the best galleries we have in Nottingham and I just loved the building. It’s very striking from the outside and the room we used, ‘The Space’ is made up of high concrete walls and wooden floor. The space was perfect for us as all we wanted was an simple but striking room that we could decorate as we desired – a blank space. Once the botanical element of the wedding became stronger it all fit together even more as I knew the colourful flowers against the striking, modern building would create a beautiful juxtaposition. I think mixing the outdoors with the modern wouldn’t be to everyone’s taste but for us it was the perfect combination of the city we love and some traditional wedding décor.

Stationery

Jenny Bignall. Jenny was one of my bridesmaids who is also an amazing illustrator and designer. Our invites, save the dates and order of service were all designed by Jenny who painted everything by hand – she’s amazing!

Photographer

We’d met Dale Weeks Photography at a friends wedding where we’d both been members of the bridal party and really loved how relaxed and professional he was. Once we saw his photos from their big day we knew he would be perfect for us!
