I’m a little bit obsessed with this wedding and it’s all down to the Balloons. Regular readers will know that a 3ft balloon featured on some of my formal photographs at my own wedding, but in this wedding the use of similar balloons for interior reception decor is so clean and fresh I’m literally swooning…
Jill & John were married on August 22nd last year with a ceremony and reception in the Walled Garden at Cowdray in Midhurst. All the delicious photographs were taken by the talented Lisa Devlin… (I was pretty pleased to be offered first dibs on this one as it’s so perfectly Rock My Wedding!)
A Venue and The Dress
My dress was made by a dress maker called Anne Genz in Hornchurch Essex. She’s amazing and the quality was much better than an off the peg dress. It was based on a design I found in an Italian bridal magazine, however I had it made out of Thai silk in champagne.
Peaches and Cream
I had a make up artist do my make up, very natural and simple. I did my own hair as it’s quite short and I didn’t want it up.
Pink to make the Boys Wink!
I bought my bridesmaid’s dress from a shop in Worthing…
It was a Dessy dress and they have a huge amount of styles and colours, you just have to order them from America, so delivery can take a while.
Personalising the Suits…
John’s suit was from Hugo Morris, as was his hand made shirt which has an amazing fit. His tie was from Missoni.
The groomsmen also had their suits made by Hugo Morris in Brighton. They all looked the same as John, except they all had different linings. My family had West Ham colours!
A Recommended Photographer
Lisa Devlin was our photographer. We chose her as she had taken photos of our friends wedding and they were beautiful.
Double Duty Patisserie
Our cake was from Paul patisserie. We had a 4 tier Framboisier cake rather than a traditional one. This was served as our dessert and was gorgeous.
Better than a bit of fruit cake!
Swinging the Entertainment
We had a swing band call Rockin’ in Rhythm playing in the walled garden after the service and after the meal. They set a good mood and went well with the copious amounts of champagne!
We danced to ‘The very thought of you’, played by the band. The words say it all.
Are you sad we’re at the end? Well you needn’t be, because I have very selfishly saved the best until last, all the delicious details behind the day are coming right up in Part 2 tomorrow. Pop back then to see all the decor, accessories and blooms for yourselves.
I can’t wait!
Yours Truly,
Rebecca

What a stunning venue – so many gorgeous photo opportunities!
Hi Guys, glad you like!
Thanks for the ‘welcome back’ – we’ve been fretting a little bit behind the scenes last night but fingers crossed we’re all back to normal. It seems our hoster is having some problems so there may yet be blips but hopefully not for too long.
Thanks so much for bearing with us guys!
xoxo
Gutted, I was hoping it was down as you were making big changes again, like the sister site!
Haha that did cross my mind too…
Ah, it was between The Walled Garden at Cowdray and one other venue and I went with the other one but now I’ve seen these pics I’m having a venue wobble…..I don’t think I can bear to see part 2 of this wedding just in case!!! It all looks gorgeous and oh so chic x
