Inspiration

This shoot is simply beautiful. Brinkburn looks like a absolutely idyllic venue and if you're planning a wedding in Northumberland, I'm envious! It has that perfect combination of grandeur and intimacy, the countryside surrounding it is stunning and it's an elegant yet neutral space. I just love what Helen at Bels Flowers and Katy the photographer have done with the space. Beautifully organic and sumptuous floral displays, the prettiest table styling and a golden hued Badgley Mischka dress that is out of this world.

The Inspiration

Helen the Florist: Our story for this bridal shoot is loosely based around the morning of Catriona's wedding. The anticipation of her groom arriving after receiving a love poem from him. Her longing to see him, the preparations for a candlelit dinner and her thoughtful walk to her wedding ceremony. Both Katy and I have very similar styles in the love of soft, romantic, effortless, prettiness. We've been lucky enough to work together on some beautiful weddings over the years and both worked on each other's weddings. Our styles work beautifully together and we wanted to make the time to create a photoshoot which we could show all the creativity in our minds which we don't always get to dictate when working on clients weddings.

Brinkburn

The backdrop of Brinkburn was the start of the journey of this shoot, the owner Emma contacted us after we released an annual collection of seasonal bouquets 'a collection of prettiness' and the start of this beautiful photoshoot began. Brinkburn is a stunning wedding venue connected to a medieval priory and Manor House which has aged timelessly as a quintessentially English landmark. The beautiful stone, aged oak and streaming light lends it's self perfectly to the colours and hues which we both love. The soft golds, creams, and taupes in the building built the colour palette for our flowers and accessories, and perfect for Katy's amazingly soft, light filled photographs. The adjoining house to the priory buildings is called The Stables. Within The Stables is an elegant blank, light space called The White Room where wedding ceremonies can take place. Our mood and Pinterest boards reflected our style combined with the old English charm of the buildings and the natural surroundings of the gardens and grounds around the perimeter of our location.

The Details

We built on soft hues of the rose golds, natural stone tones, whites, creams and greens with beautiful, seasonal blooms, English country garden roses, hydrangea, ranunculus, trailing foliages of eucalyptus and jasmine which were not only beautiful to work with but also incredibly romantically scented. The stunning model and dress also reflected the beautiful English rose vision we had, and the extremely talented hair and make up ladies who worked with us were perfect in terms of the natural, barely there look which our stunning model April exuberated. Our stationery, table scape and accessories also flowed with the effortless style of floaty silks, pretty jewels, candles and beautifully written calligraphy. We were so lucky to be able to create this vision and produce such stunning imagery with such a talented, and adorable, group of ladies. The day was a joy to create and the photographs will be part of our portfolios for a lifetime, we hope you enjoy them as much as us.
