Firstly let me start with some apologies for our disappearing act yesterday, in order to make some essential changes and updates to the blog it was necessary for us to go offline whilst we tested, developed and generally made sure everything was looking pretty and working as it darn well should.
We think it was worth the wait, we sincerely hope you do too
The main purpose of the update was to make navigation easier for you gorgeous lot and introduce a few new bits and pieces we’ve had in the Rock My Wedding development pipeline for some time. Now we have tons of content we realise it would take someone potentially ages to try and find an old post and for new comers unless you specifically read the “about” page ( which we are updating soon too hoorah!)….it is nigh on impossible to find specific topics.
So then the new menu bar….
If you hover over any of the parent categories you will see a lovely little drop down with sub categories ( this little piece of functionality is courtesy of RMW’s clever clogs Adam, Rebecca and I just provided the cute names)….and this is what they all mean.
Chic and Unique now has Paper which details all our lovely stationery designers, Treats which is anything to do with cakes, gifts or favours, D.I.Y which is all about making cool stuff and Decor which is all about decorating your Big Day to perfection – flowers, Inspiration boards and anything else we can find that might take your fancy.
Style Savvy now includes four sections, Brides style Maids style Lady Luxe ( for blow the budget wish list type items) and Pieces of Pretty which is all about gorgeous accessories for W-day including jewels, veils and shoes.
Real Weddings has been split into six sections which will hopefully help you find all the inspiration you need easily as well as being able to read all about our real bride Jenny’s planning details in “What Jenny Did”
The Facts of Wife incorporates all sorts of new loveliness including Home is where the heart is, Surfers Paradise and The Blog Father. In the home section it will be just that, little snippets of wonderful stuff for your place of living. Surfers Paradise will detail all the super cool detail we find from around the globe on the interweb and The Blog Father is well…..the section for boys. If you have a sneaky peak now you will see RMW’s Adam’s first post ( be gentle ladies he was very nervous y’know).
Beauty not Beast now includes an area for all the cosmetics we adore in Product Love, our tutorials in How To and for anything else to do with getting glamorous we will share in Need To Know.
Undress and Our Big Day Our Way are both completely shiny new parent categories. Unfortunately Undress is taking longer than we anticipated but if you have a look see you will see our logo and maybe even have an idea what we are up to…..promise we have it completed ASAP.
Our Big Day Our Way will include not only my original blog You Rock My World but also Rebecca’s too - Chic in The City will be coming to Rock My Wedding very VERY soon.
We’ve had quite a few suggestions recently from readers wanting more information on the general planning of W-day, we don’t pretend to be experts ( although we are making it our business to learn as much as we can) but we are sure as hell going to have a good go taking advice from the genuine Industry professionals where needed. You will find all this in the section aptly named “Your Day Your Way“.
We would love to hear about what you think of the new ( and we hope improved!) Rock My Wedding blog and if there is anything else you think we should be doing to make sure you come back and visit us often.
Big Rock My Wedding Love

I am unspeakably excited! Great job girls (and boy!) x
Phew!!! I was soooo lost without you to keep me entertained this weekend! I’m recoverin from an op so couldnt move out of the house!!
Thanks for explaining the layout… I usually feel supersavvy on the tinterweb.. but reading some blogs seem to be a minefield… but feel fairly at home here…xx
I’m so glad it wasn’t just me that was having withdrawal symptoms. Just as a legal aside does your website have a privacy policy?
I’m ecstatic to have my own subsection! I love the new look too!
xx
Hi Rebecca,
If you are referring to the email information provided by commenters when replying to our posts, our policy is that that information is conficential within the administrators of the site. This includes Charlotte, myself and Adam.
We may in the future use that information to contact you but it is never passed to third partys. Our advertisers do not have access to it and if our competitions require email entries, the entries have been in the past supplied to that third party with the email and any other personal information removed from it.
Thanks for giving us opportunity to make that clear Rebecca! Any other questions, don’t hesitate to email me direct.
Best,
Rebecca

I like the idea and the look of the new menus but can I just say that the way they work really isn’t very user friendly. It’s a real pain to have to carefully move along the narrow strip to the appropriate section – especially on a laptop. They might not look as pretty but, in my humble opinion, vertical drop down menus would be much easier to use. x
PS Rebecca, sorry, but the English teacher in me has to point out that ‘third parties’ is -ies, not -ys. Sad of me, I know.
Hi ladies, thanks for all the feedback – we love you
Eleanor – could you let me know what browser you are using Pet? we have tested Safari and explorer and all works well at the moment. No worries on the spelling, Rebecca and I are the first to admit our spelling is not great….especially stationery/stationary!

Hi Charlotte,
I’m using Google Chrome – it works fine, it’s just a bit fiddly – or maybe I’m just getting a bit old and my fine motor skills aren’t quite what they were! Getting, for example, all the way from ‘Beauty not Beast’ to ‘Product Love’ just feels a bit like one of those games you used to get at school fĂȘtes when you had to move the hoop along the metal wire thing without touching it and making the buzzer go off. You probably have no idea what I’m talking about and I sound completely barking so probably just best to ignore me!
Eleanor x
(Apologies again for the spelling thing – I can’t help myself despite being told off for it by my friends!)
Loving the new site ladies, and just wanted to say a big thank-you for all your hard-work. Rock my wedding is making my already wonderful wedding planning experience even better! You guys rock!
