Let’s not beat around the bush here people, I’m guessing from all of your positive responses to our Beauty not Beast section that there are some SERIOUS cosmetic addicts out there.
And if you are one and you don’t know about this already be prepared to become addicted in the worst possible way to a make-up website that completely rocks my world.

In brief ( believe me I could witter on about it lovingly for hours) it is a place for like-minded lipstick queens to discuss beauty products openly, honestly and rate everything from price to performance to packaging.
Need you NEVER make a mistake by purchasing that $$$$$$ supposed “wonder cream” (that does precisely jack) ever again.
You can look at items by brand, by type ( blusher/foundation/moisturiser etc) by how new they are – by what is the best bargain…..
Seriously the list is endless.
And how could you ever get better feedback than from real life users? Some lovely ladies even upload close up photo’s of themselves “before” and “after” application as it were.
Utter genius.
My personal favourite is the “MUA Top Picks” – click on this section and you will see only the absolutely highest rated products. Brilliant fun if you are planning a trip to one of the many counters of glossy dreams and want to make sure you indulge in something that really works.

Here I selected the MUA top picks for MAC, there is an eyeshadow that rated 4.8 out of 5 overall by 48 testers. That must be some pretty darn fabulous eye candy.
Now of course you will find a few pieces of loveliness ( in your opinion) that don’t necessarily rate especially highly with the general public BUT this website for the most part will provide you with not only a great resource for finding super duper make-up greatness but also a way to avoid wasting your hard earned dollar on rubbish.
Promise.
If you are already a fan then PLEASE let me know, I could chat MUA all day.
And if not already a convert……but from this post I have inadvertently made you spend the entire day on the interweb……..
Sincerest Apologies.
Erm…..NOT
Lots of lipsticky powdery Love

Seriously Charlotte, I’m supposed to be WORKING!
However i’m now surfing the loveliness and I have a list as long as your arm of things I NEED to try!
You are a bad influence Mrs O’Shea
Love this! Thanks for sharing. I just enrolled in a part time college course in Fashion and Photographic Make Up yesterday..I’m sure this sure will help me out a lot! Also.. I wondered if Melissa could recommend any books or magazines related to make up artistry? x
I LOVE MUA!
You will find me in Boots, checking reviews before I buy most things!
I think you need to do a “Top 5 Things that MUA has taught me”.
Mine are-
1. Eyeshadow primer is your BEST friend ever ever ever. I love Too Faced Shadow Insurance. It makes shadow go on smoother, stay longer without creasing etc.
2. There is such a thing as a heat protectant to use before straightening that isn’t heavy and gunky. I love Kerastase Ciment Thermique
3. I am not the only person in the world that is constantly buying foundation, getting 1/4 of the way through the bottle and then throwing it out.
4. Good quality makeup brushes are your friend. MAC eyeshadow blushes, several copies of the MAC 187 etc, will be your best friend and make your makeup look great.
5. That the Americans are far luckier than us. I wish we had Sephora, so I could buy loads of Cargo (thanks for discontinuing this, Sainsburys), L’Oreal HIP. They also get buy one get one free drugstore sales (as opposed to rubbish 3 for 2′s). MAC, Bobbi Brown and Sephora also have 20% off everything sales every so often.
JoeyEmma
You are definitely a bad influence. I spent the best part of £70 at the Mac counter on Sunday following Melissa’s eye shadow tips. The boy was horrified when I came home. Oooops!
I’m off to check MUA out now. I’ve been searching for the perfect matt nude nail varnish out ages. Maybe this can help!

OPI matte You Dont Know Jacques is a nude taupe polish (MUA taught me that too!)
MUA is the most fantastical site ever – has taught me alot also!!
JoeyEmma that is definitely a gorgeous colour – we heart MUA!!!
I’m so loving the MUA fanclub!!!
Joey Emma that is great advice, Agree totally on the eyeshadow primer and will be trying out the OPI taupe
Janice I will get Melissa to drop you a mail – she is in London working at the moment but is back at the weekend

Thanks Charlotte! x
I’m also a total MUA junky, I love it! The nail board totally feeds my nail polish addiction, i’m always drooling over all the funky nail polishes and then end up spending a fortune on the latest OPI on my way home from work, how sad is that! Glad I’m not alone
