Pieces of Pretty

That’s One Hot Head Piece Honey.

August 13th, 2010

I have a confession to make.

I would really REALLY have loved to have worn a fabulous head piece for W-day. I have seen so many gorgeous brides wearing them recently that the little seed of regret is now deeply rooted in the dark recess of my if-only-I’d-known-about-it-then blogger brain.

No point dwelling on it now though lovelies, instead I will just show all of you gorgeous lot some of THE MOST FABULOUS head wear known to man so that furnished with the inspiration you won’t not have to miss out on the opportunity.

Not usually one for finding pieces of pretty on Etsy ( that’s mainly Rebecca’s bag) the new collection by Twigs and Honey designed by the uber talented Myra Callun literally makes me swoon and squeal and come over all of a dither….

And of course the great news is they ship to the UK! Hoorah!

Think whimsical, think feminine, think super super PRETTY.

I love.

Pretty Plum Please…

August 4th, 2010

This afternoon we have some positively drool-worthy images to share and even better, you can get what is in them for yourself!

I know after my wedding report there were so many questions about my choice of ‘getting ready’ wear – some Monsoon Pyjamas in floral print, and being a fan of ‘lounge wear’ in general, I may have actually squealed when Charlotte sent me this! I think it’s so important not to forget your outfit for this part of the day as nine times out of ten there will be loads of pictures of this part of the day – pictures of you and your girls getting ready, pictures that I know are now amongst my favourites of my wedding day.

Aside from the practicalities of choosing something to wear that can be easily removed, without ruining your fancy new hair and make-up, of course it should be super feminine and pretty, which is exactly what Plum Pretty Sugar is!

Not only do they make fabulous getting ready clothes, the range of kimono, ’sets’, kaftans and dresses are just perfect for honeymooners, newly weds and marrieds alike. Hell, any one of you looking for a feminine piece of pretty could rock these perfect creations! :)

Kimono Cool

Fabulous cover ups in super pretty prints, Plum Pretty Sugar Loungerie makes long and short Kimonos in a dreamy range of sheer whimsical prints, sold in their Etsy shop.

…borne from the idea of breezy happiness, cozy comfort and easy-living chic. Imagined in dreams, it features giftable, gorgeous silhouettes in whisper-soft fabric in enchanting garden of eden-inspired palettes.

Super Special Smalls…

Not only do they make Kimono wraps but cute-as-a-button tops, bottoms, shorts and slips, all with a little bit of feminine sexy woven in. Dresses also feature and beach style kaftans, plus teeny accessories like this scarf and jewellery pouch. Just beautiful.

So so pretty, I am in Love.

Make sure you go check out the Plum Pretty Sugar site, not only are the products gorgeous but the styling and photography are totally dreamy. Perfect to get lost in on a rainy summers afternoon, as is the fabulous blog, Between the Seams.

What will you be wearing to get ready ladies? Have we given you a few ideas or have you already found your outfit? Or, have we just reminded you to get something?!

Yours Truly,

Rebecca

Which Goose Gorgeous

July 22nd, 2010

Every now and then in this bridal world of gorgeousness, something comes along and totally Rocks my soul. I develop an unhealthy obsession, fantasize about the thing in question (for it is always a thing) and nurture my one track mind. Usually, I am fickle, my obsession passes and dust gathers on my thoughts, but this obsession lingers, always at the back of my mind, Which Goose.

Which Goose is a bridal accessory store, first discovered on Etsy months and months ago. In fact it was around about the time I first joined Rock My Wedding. The words ‘A.mazing’ and ‘Crown’ don’t usually feature in the same sentence on this wedding blog, but for Which Goose I’ll make an exception.

Ethereal, pretty, whimsical… the list of words that simply don’t do these headpieces justice could go on and on and I know I can’t describe how much I love them in one post. So I’ll shut up and let you devour the images.

Somebody buy one.

Somebody Rock one.

Queen of the Woods and Maiden floral Crown.

Whisper White Rose band and Heidi Faux Vine

O Pioneers Purple flower band and Daylight Dreamer Wire hair crown

Zephyr Butterfly Crown and Requiem natural vine crown

Pretty please?

A Little Rough Around The Edges.

July 14th, 2010

If you were to take a look around my home you will soon realise that I favour anything slightly rough around the edges. There is something about chipped peeling paintwork, worn leather or beaten metal that makes me take a sharp intake of breath at the hidden possibilities.

And no I have absolutely no desire to fix it. Just a distinct sense of admiration for the history – the secrets and the stories behind the wear and tear.

As a general rule when it comes to jewellery therefore I tend to be attracted by very similar aesthetics – the unique, the mismatched, the seemingly unfinished and the statement as opposed to the dainty perfect pieces more often than not associated with todays brides.

So when one of our readers Sarah sent me a link to the Stella and Stokes website last month it was like entering a little web space of hand-cut silver and gemstone wonder, not a case of “What shall I have?” but more of a case of ” I want everything and I want it now darn it!”.

And of course my second thought? that all of our other gorgeous readers need to know about it too :)

Charming Maids Gifts

Part of the “dinky” collection, pair a handcut heart, an angel wing, a “love” tag and a silver nugget to make this piece of pretty above £85.00

The “big silver tag” – add your maids name to personalise or just any little message you like. £85.00

“hearts on stalks” are textured and completely timeless £70.00

Something Slightly Different

Each one of the “gemstone” necklaces are a one off. This one has high quality amethysts, red and green garnets, peridot, carnelion, quartz and citrine – all strung with a solid silver nugget and handmade silver catch. Prices vary according to the gemstones.

Solid silver nuggets ( like raindrops and totally my favourite), would look stunning on a contemporary bride £120.00

You can chose any charm or colour for your “ribbon” necklace, would make a gorgeous gift and would look A.mazing on a maid – maybe even tie the ribbon in with your colour scheme? The particular combination featured is £50.00

The Really Sexy Pieces

The “waterfall” necklace and earrings…

Delicate? yup.

Dreary? nope.

A little bit spiky and a whole lot sexy. Both £65.00 each

A chunky chain bracelet, can be paired with any tag or a charm of your choice £80.00

All Stella and Stokes pieces are handmade in Scotland.

Go and check out their website for many more delicious items.

Drama Queen.

June 23rd, 2010

Three of the many things in weddingville I love, unique contemporary design, jewellery perfection and when Rock My Wedding get the exclusive on a new range of fabulousness.

This is a pretty jump-up-and-down-with-glee post for me then because the lovely Clare Crabtree from Quello is launching her very own range of vintage inspired pretty.

And the name?

DramaQueen.

And for all you lovelies out there who are suffering from accessory overload ( so many to chose from…. so little time…..) Clare and her team have also put together stylish sets featuring 3 pieces of neck/lobe/head and/or wrist candy with a pair of sexy shoes, all with a particular dress style in mind and a selection to suit a variety of budgets.

G.E.N.I.U.S I tell you.

And now for your close up ;-)

….so for the last “vintage inspired” set these are the pretties recommended to make you your most stylish:

Perfection no?

The sets will incorporate a selection of jewellery from Katzi, Halo & Co and Stephanie Browne with shoes by Rachel Simpson, Benjamin Adams and Fillipa Scott.

And as Clare is the mastermind behind the completely beautiful Drama Queen range it is only fair she tell you all about it.

Clare Crabtree:

With the success of Quello’s recent award for Best New Bridal Retailer I have decided to take it one step further and give brides the opportunity to experience Quello on-line!

I don’t want you to have to leave your Chaise Longue to choose your wedding accessories. Using our expertise and savvy style we have created gorgeous sets to accessorise you from head to toe.

Our brides constantly talk of the headache of shopping around to try to match pieces together so we’ve taken the headache away and have put together the perfect sets, whatever your style and budget. There are vintage inspired sets and sets specifically chosen to match dress styles ie. full lace, slinkies, dresses with jackets……..

And we haven’t stopped there!

We’ve also launched our very own exclusive DramaQueen range for those of you who want something completely chic and unique!

Each piece is created using vintage trimmings, exquisite beading and embellishment, made to the highest standard of craftsmanship using the finest components sourced from around the world.

The collection combines the impact and romance of flowers with the glitz of diamantes and beads with an ever so gentle vintage touch.

There should always be a little drama on your big day – make sure it’s the type of drama you’ve planned!

Sit back, relax and be inspired by this new way of shopping for all things gorgeous…

Fancy Schmancey.

I would like to get married all over again just to wear one of these. Seriously.

Sets which always include shoes and 3 accessory pieces range from £250 to £800 and DramaQueen pieces are from £100 to £200

Paradise Parasol Pretty

June 8th, 2010

We do like to wax lyrical about a prop in wedding photos here at Rock My Wedding but sometimes it’s more than just a luxury and becomes a necessity, particularly with the Great British Weather as it is! And I’ve always had a soft spot for the oriental style parasols often seen on US wedding blogs… so I was thrilled to receive an email from Hannah, the lovely lady behind Paradise Parasols telling me she was starting a business to become a UK supplier of the prettiest parasols imaginable.

Hannah was married in New Zealand and fell in love with the parasols she used for her own wedding which inspired her to bring them to the UK market.

Paradise Parasols is now the exclusive UK distributor of “Parasoul” branded parasols. Designed in New Zealand and handcrafted in Thailand by happy and well paid ladies, with the factory recently winning a UNESCO craft award.

Parasols are becoming increasing popular for weddings and we offer a wide range of colours and designs to match your chosen theme. Paradise Parasols also offer a custom service so if you have a particular colour parasol in mind we can usually produce any colour with 3 months notice.

The waxed-cotton parasol is even waterproof…. so you’re covered rain or shine!

Aside from all the beautiful colours available (and did you see the polka dots? Very RMW :) ) there is also a beautiful Thai Silk Ivory Parasol available especially for Brides. Personally, I think it beats a golf umbrella that (fingers crossed) may not get used, as you can make a feature of these whatever the weather!

And here’s a picture of Hannah on her wedding day in NZ… gorgeous yes?

So head on over to Paradise Parasols to check out the designs, and add a little parasol pretty to your Wedding Day.

Yours Truly,

Rebecca
xoxo

UPDATED 19.22:
Just incase you weren’t convinced already, the very lovely Chanelle from Segerius-Bruce Photography sent me over a couple of pics this afternoon of a wedding she shot with gorgeous parasols… Thanks Chanelle! Enjoy the eye candy ladies :)
