An Irish Flavour.
Elaine and Darren married just three days before Christmas last year at The Sacred Heart Church in Wimbledon Village before moving on to their reception at Hampton Court House in Surrey.
The cloudy skies and flash downpours that presented themselves on the day of this sweet pair’s wedding did not stop play. In fact if anything they added their own dose of romantic sensuality to the gorgeous photography captured by Brett Symes.
Folks, just wait and see what we have in store for you…mountains of tulle, blooms, glitz and glamour. I know, I can’t wait either… let’s get started.

Delicate Tulle
My dress was by Pronovias from Teokath, Wimbledon. The staff were amazing as I was really nervous and not really into the whole big dress thing. I went in wanting something simple that was straight to the floor. I ended up with the complete opposite, and was so glad I did. The bodice and skirt had subtle sequins on which really gave the dress that special sparkly touch, particularly against all the candles used in our winter wedding.
Special thanks go to Sam and Jackie in store for adding intricate lace straps to make the dress unique and echo the lace all over the bodice and skirt. The neckline was edged with delicate tulle and the skirt had numerous layers of more tulle which gave it a sheer, lightweight appearance. I loved swishing around in it for the whole day and fair dues to Darren, he didn’t step on it once!… View the full post.

A White Christmas.
Yes I know it’s only March, and Christmas is MONTHS away….but that doesn’t mean there aren’t tens of thousands of you planning a winter affair for 2013/2014.
Charlotte and Al’s wedding was cold-season perfection, a timeless white and navy colour palette with subtle accents of shimmering silver. I am very much a fan of the the shiny table runners and mercuried giant candle holders used on the head table.
Charlotte’s Sassi Holdford dress is a vision of modern simplicity and the use of gypsophila makes everything so pretty…..and I’ve got to say, Charlotte’s write up is both witty and informative. There are lots of useful hints and tips for you gorgeous lot – we updated our “real wedding bride” questionnaire recently to include things like ceremony readings and food choices so you can be even more inspired by Rock My Wedding.
Enjoy lovelies.

Monica Moments
Charlotte The Bride: Some may consider it a blessing to have thick, wavy hair. However, I can assure you it isn’t! The slightest bit of moisture and I transform into Monica from Friends in the Barbados episodes (those that knew me circa 1999 will undoubtedly think back to my ill advised afro look!). Therefore, I was extremely worried about my hair! I didn’t want it to look too styled and needed to ensure my fringe would be kink free. Cue Liz at Vogue International in Leamington Spa. My Mum goes to this salon and, when she mentioned that we were struggling to find a salon that was open over the Christmas period, Liz offered to open up for us or come to the venue – Hoorah!… View the full post.

Rain-Kissed Love.
I think it took exactly 2.8 seconds from the moment I first clapped eyes on (our) Naomi’s email to the RMW team about Mike and Sophie’s wedding to literally begging Charlotte to allow me to share it with you gorgeous lot on our polka dotted pages.
Ok, so the timing thing might be a little bit of exaggeration but you get the picture. Nonetheless, the result of the aforementioned pleading session is that I’m blogging my first wedding and it’s a little bit blimming gorgeous.
Soph and Mike’s wedding took place in June earlier this year at The Arboretum, Pearl Beach – a beautiful location next to the sea in…wait for it folks…Australia.
There’s an amazing tree, a secluded arboretum, bare feet on a deserted beach, boats, an epic jeep and… rain.
Lots of rain.
Earlier this year, New South Wales in Australia saw some of the wettest weather they had seen for some time and Mike and Soph’s wedding day was no exception. It rained and then rained some more. But far from letting the weather dampening their spirits, they embraced it and the result is these wonderful photos below.

With A Little Help From My Friends
My dress was made in a shop called Nelder Jones in Paddington, Sydney. I found a few pictures online of dresses that I liked, and with the help of my sisters and the dressmakers, we came up with a dress design together!
I tried lots of dresses on to figure out what fabric I liked and what style of skirt and came up with the fishtail skirt and latte silk fabric.… View the full post.
Winter Bling At St. Pauls.
I am only going to use three words to introduce Clair and Carl’s wedding.
A wedding perfectly captured by Jo and Simon from Shoot Photography.
Those three words?
St. Pauls Cathedral.

A Grand Venue
We got married on the 3rd December 2011. Our ceremony was in the OBE Chapel of St Paul’s Cathedral in London. We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to get married in such a fantastic and historic place as Carl’s father Graham has been awarded with an MBE for services to medical research, getting married at St Paul’s is one of the perks of this honour! Our reception was at Revolution, America Square.

Vintage Style
My dress was Eden by Jenny Packham. I first tried it on in a shop in London and fell in love! Vintage style, elegant, flattering, unique and blingilicious! I never wanted to wear anything else. At the time of trying on wedding dresses I wasn’t feeling that great about myself and I tried on so many dresses that made me feel worse! I just couldn’t find something that was really ‘me’ until I put on Eden. I felt privileged to put it on.
I loved the fact it was vintage but not ‘chintzy’, it was pure old school Hollywood glamour and I loved it. I tracked it down to Eternity Bridalwear in Warrington and purchased it there as we live in Manchester.

Something Borrowed
I wore a sparkly head piece that was borrowed from a friend. It was absolutely perfect and so lovely of her to let me have it for the day.… View the full post.
A Winter Warmer.
I do love a winter wedding.
Matt and Laura married on 29th December 2011 at Rudding Park, Harrogate, so we are only a few days after Christmas. Just as Laura specified that her dress should be ‘Christmassy without too much Christmas’ I think the same could be said for their wedding.
It would be tempting to go with a traditional seasonal colour scheme of green and red but here we have vintage pinks and cream and just a touch of purple to remind us that we are in late late December.
And it really works.
Photography today is by the delightfully delicious Anna Hardy.

Christmassy Without Too Much Christmas
I’m not your typical girly girl and, I must admit, the thought of having to find the ‘perfect dress’ was a little bit daunting. I tried on quite a few different dresses, visiting a few different shops with both my Mum and my bridesmaids. I eventually found Louella Bride in Leeds who stock so many gorgeous dresses (I can’t recommend this shop and its staff highly enough – they were fantastic throughout). I was beginning to think I really wasn’t going to find a dress I loved until I tried on ‘Brigham’ from Blue by Enzoani – it was the train of the dress that really sold it to me and the delicate detailing on both the front and back. I think my brief when asked what I was looking for in a dress was ‘Christmassy without too much Christmas’ – If I’m 100% honest, there were dresses that I saw and adored even after picking this one, but there was something about this dress that, when I tried it on, it just felt perfect and, most importantly, I knew Mr B would approve!… View the full post.
