Robyn’s D.I.Y Delicious… The Movie.
I defy anyone to not shed a tear after watching this film.
It is truly perfect in every way, right down to the soundtrack. And “I am addicted to you” is one of the most heart-string pulling things I have ever heard a Groom say in his speech. Fact.
Aaron from Reel Weddings? You are a freakin’ genius.
Were there tears? Are you now going to seriously consider getting a videographer for W-day? Apart from investing in a great photographer for me it was a must.
With HUGE thanks to Robyn, Robin, all of your amazing friends and family, Segerius- Bruce Photography and Reel Weddings for sharing this immense celebration of love with Rock My Wedding and our loyal community…

And just to make things even lovelier for Robyn and Robin, their W-day is going into a fancy bridal magazine.
Yup. All of this D.I.Y delicious is going 100% glossy.
And it couldn’t have happened to a nicer couple.

Robyn’s D.I.Y Delicious….Part 2
I know you are all eagerly awaiting the second part of Robyn and Robin’s perfectly outdoorsy day, especially as you now get to see all of the pretty details and hard work that went into every single aspect of the planning process.
I have never seen a more beautiful venue, made even more so by the sheer amount of love, dedication and creativity that went into building it.
Enjoy folks.

The Easy Part
For us choosing a photographer was one of the easiest things on the list. I grew up riding with Chanelle Segerius-Bruce in South Africa and both her and her husband Craig are brilliant at taking photographs! They made us feel so comfortable and did the most fantastic job. Being camera shy, we wanted documentary style photos and a short 30 minute slot to get in family portraits and some ones of just us. Even with this tight time frame we received countless amazing shots and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Chatting to Chanelle after her wedding she said the only thing she regretted was not getting her day filmed. Through all the wedding advice we were given this really stayed with me, so we asked Reel Weddings to film our day. Aaron and Andrea are a really lovely couple and a pleasure to have around on the day. Not only are they genuinely nice but as you can see from the video highlights they are kick ass wedding film makers!

Table Treats
We had a few kids at the wedding so to keep them entertained we ordered some great party packs from Event Smiles and added a name-tag as their favour.… View the full post.
Robyn’s D.I.Y Delicious…..Part 1
I have never in all my time looking at weddings, reading about weddings, even dreaming about weddings…come across a couple more dedicated to having their wedding their way than Robyn and Robin. They take D.I.Y to a whole new level, practically building a venue from scratch and genuinely putting a personal stamp on ever single aspect of the day, from the florals to the favours to the fashion.
I am more than a little bit in awe to be perfectly honest and have poured over the images many times in order to choose exactly the right ones… which in the end turned out to be an almost an impossible task. They were just beautiful. Every. Single. One.
So I have lots and lots to share with you lovelies, all courtesy of Sergerius- Bruce Photography.

Lovely Lanvin
I have a really sad relationship with shoes. I drool at the skyscrapers in the shops but when it comes to it anything over a kitten heel and I loose the will to walk! My mom is a fellow Heel Hater so treated me to a beautiful pair of sandals that were in the Net-a-porter sale. They were so comfortable that I cannot recommend wearing flats enough, especially as you have so much standing/dancing/walking and general swanning around to do.

Style Savvy
My dress (my something old) was Tabitha by Jenny Packham. I tried it on in a local bridal shop and bought it for a fraction of the price on Ebay. As silly as it may sound to some of you, having the perfect dress and shoes weren’t that important to me.… View the full post.
RMW Real Brides – The Wedding Reveal.
Morning you gorgeous lot…
Yes it is Monday (boo) and winter is well and truly setting in (the knitwear is officially out of the wardrobe people) but don’t let that make you blue, as today is a very special day indeed. Yup that’s right, today is the first of our real bride wedding reveals, non other than the beautiful, talented and super D.I.Y Queen that is Robyn.
Before we launch straight into the detailed report and professional images we are just going to share a little introduction from Robyn, her feelings about the big day and special thanks to those family and friends that helped to make her W-day magical…
Robyn: Being a wife ROCKS and being married to Robin is the best feeling in the world! Our wedding was on the 6th of August 2011 at my parents’ farm in Surrey. We DIY’d almost all of it and could never have pulled it off without the sheer AMAZINGNESS of all our family and friends. Yes, AMAZINGNESS invented especially for this extreme kind of amazing! It was filled with love, with our families, with our friends, with our animals (yep, even the doggies joined us to boogie) and with a little bit of chaos. Organised chaos but still, it was jammed packed action all the way.

A week before the wedding friends, aunts, uncles, my grandmother and cousins flew in from all over the world.… View the full post.
What Robyn Did…. Mission Complete.
* Yes I know I know….sticking my big old beak in again…
Just to say that this is Robyn’s last post before W-day so I would really appreciate everyone leaving her a comment of support and thanks. Because there is D.I.Y and then there is ROBYN AND ROBIN D.I.Y.
Seriously, building a wedding venue from scratch?! There are pictures of actual SCAFFOLDING AND EVERYTHING.
Robyn and Robin we salute you. Paper poms ain’t got NOTHIN’ on you pair.
Have a fabulous day Saturday

The time has come to write my last post before the big day. My feelings are pretty mixed right now. Sad that this wonderful world of RMW is coming to an end and excited to start a new chapter with my husband. Ooooh, HUSBAND. Such a novelty. I have been debating whether to write this in here or save it up for the marathon write up of the big day but I thought what the hell – I better share this now while the feelings and memories are still crisp in my mind.

Robin and I are legally married. Eeeeep! Yep, that’s right folks. We are husband and wife. As most of you know we weren’t able to do the legal bit on the farm so for a few reasons we decided to do it bit a wee earlier than initially planned…
The night before the Registry office was pretty damn emotional. Partly because of the excitement/anticipation/stress/nerves I could go on, that you encounter and partly because I felt like I was saying goodbye to my parents – no matter how much I knew they would always be there for me.… View the full post.
What Robyn Did… Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff.
By the time you read this it is T-6 weeks until THE DAY. What the *bleep!* Where the *bleep* has the past year gone?! As you lovely lot saw from my last post we are pretty much on schedule with all the big stuff that needs to be done (I type this while knocking on wood!). We have finally built our garden area in the center of the courtyard and the plants are growing like wildfire. Great you say? Well yes and no. All the flowers are blooming. 2 months early! hmmmmm not quite sure how this one is going to pan out.
We made the beds by lining up our lavender boxes (made over a year ago now) in a large square. We then lined the inside and dumped loads of sand inside. This is best illustrated in the pictures below. Thank goodness for Dads tractor and trailer. Wheel-borrowing in this amount of sand would have been back breaking.
After the beds settled we started planting all the flowers that we grew from seed. My mom and dad went to the garden center to get 2 trees for the far beds. When Dad came over to ask what we thought he was gleaming, ‘They’re called Red Robin’s’ he said with excitement. These gorgeous plants are Red Robin bushes that are cut into the shape of a little tree.. and it appears they were mean to be! (haha, sorry so corny). The center bed was designed and lovingly planted by my mom and family friend Jane, complete with a water feature.… View the full post.
