Ask The Experts – Abigail Warner.

If you read our vlogging post earlier this week then you’ll already know that I’m an interior infatuated, art loving, frustrated florist. You’ll also be aware that I’m obsessed with all things paper. Be it a gorgeous print, exquisite handwritten type or the sweetest suite of personalised stationery you can guarantee that I’ll be hooked or it will be pinned to within an inch of its life on my Pinterest boards. (Incidentally you can follow me here if you’re interested in seeing what’s caught my eye this week.)
Ever since I first entered the wedding world (some time ago now folks) I’ve adored, lusted after and admired in equal parts the work of Abigail Warner.
To say she’s a perfect paper genius would be an understatement.
Abbey is the woman (actual guru!) behind the luxury paper goods company Abigail Warner creating beautiful designs for weddings, businesses and paper obssessed folk such as myself.
From designing and selling greetings cards in illustrious boutiques such as Selfridges and Paperchase the world over, to her latest venture – an interiors project with fashion and textile designer, Pearl Lowe – Abbey continues to push the boundaries of the stationery world.
And so today lovelies, we have a real treat for you; we’ve managed to persuade the lovely Abbey to down tools for a few wee hours to answer all of your stationery conundrums and perhaps suggest some solutions to your paper related woes.
Perhaps you’re having difficulty with a certain turn of phrase within your invites or you need some guidance about how to start the process of commissioning a bespoke stationery suite.… View the full post.
Ask The Experts – Hawke And Hughes.
Morning you gorgeous lot you…today as you are reading this I shall be on my way to the wedding “weekend” of some of our very good friends Lisa and Will. I am so excited I haven’t been able to sleep for a week….and the event is truly turning into a genuine a right old “Rock My Wedding” affair with RMW sponsors Anna Clarke and Simon Clarke capturing everything on camera and film, Mr O’Shea donning his fancy usher suit and our very own Adam Crohill second shooting…….Yours truly is even assisting with the blooms.
I’ll be posting a few sneak peeks on instagram (Charlotte O’Shea) if you want to keep updated!
Now then, just as I can remember from my own experience the amount of time and effort it takes to plan a big day (yes even a relatively small, intimate affair like my own) I have been very recently reminded having been involved in only a teeny tiny part of Lisa’s decor and logistical dilemmas.
As a result I thought it would be a good idea to perhaps incorporate some general wedding planning advice and tips in our Ask The Experts column courtesy of luxury event organisers Hawke and Hughes.

Ask The Experts – Destination Wedding Planning.

Morning lovelies, are any of you not choosing to get wed in the UK?
Dreaming of sunshine on your chiffon layers and the sand underneath your (perfectly pedicured) bridal toes?
Well if you are then I’m sure you must have some queries on how to go about it, which is ever so handy as Love Lust List member and Caribbean Wedding Designer, Michelle Pierre-Carr from Pierre Carr Wedding & Event Design is sharing her top tips on creating an immense destination wedding.
Michelle will also be on hand all morning to offer all sorts of tips and tricks so please do drop your destination W-day related questions in the comments box below.

Michelle Pierre-Carr: With a large majority of couples now paying for their own weddings, the decision to get married somewhere exotic with a smaller gathering of close friends and family now means that destination weddings have become increasingly popular in recent years. According to Mintel, one in six (that’s 16% of British weddings) now take place abroad. That equates to an estimated 51,300 overseas weddings, a massive 43% increase since 2003.
By combining great weather with high standards of service, a destination wedding has become increasingly more appealing for many UK couples. However, whilst many brides dream of a wedding abroad, there are a number of reasons why many back out. So if you are a bride (or groom for that matter) who loves the idea of an overseas wedding but is concerned about possible limitations, here’s my top tips on how to not only make a destination wedding possible, but turn it into a once-in-a-lifetime experience.… View the full post.
Ask The Experts – The Wedding Gift List.
The great wedding “gift list” debate.
Such a bone of contention we often find. Do you even want one? do you just want a contribution towards your honeymoon instead? is it rude to ask for money?!

These are questions we hear time and time again.
Well then, if there are a whole bunch of lovely things you would like but they happen to be from well….about a hundred different shops and not just the one, AND you fancy adding some other bits and bobs that might be out-of-the-ordinary then Prezola provides a one-stop gift registry solution.

Ask Jenny – Guestbook.

Hello Jenny
I’m getting married in 3 months and I am really struggling to find a nice guest book. I actually want something that people can write in and we can put a photo of them alongside so we have a record of everyone there looking gorgeous! It means that we’ll need about 60 pages I think. I don’t want anything too overly embellished – more something quite classic and elegant. Conversely I saw some with three hearts cut from old maps on the front which I loved but they couldn’t put enough pages in, nor could they fit our first names on the front (Amanda & Paul, not horrendously long you’d have thought!). Can you help? I’ve run out of places to turn.
Yours gratefully,
Amanda
Hi Amanda,
Fortunately there are tons of fun and different ideas out there for guestbooks. I went to a wedding a few weeks before my own, and the bridesmaids were tasked with running around with a polaroid camera taking all the guests pictures, and writing a message to the bride and groom in the scrap book they used to stick the photos in (they had pritt stick in their clutch bag!). It meant the bridesmaids had an important part to play, and the resulting guest book was absolutely the most fabulous thing I had ever seen. This also meant that the guestbook was complete there and then, and the Bride and Groom could take it home with them and enjoy reading the messages. The reason this is a plus point is that at my wedding I had a ‘Make a Wish, Take a Wish’ guestbook, which entailed a glass bowl of Irish blessings, delightful proverbs from around the world, and a few affirming mantras for guests to ‘take’, and a glass bowl for guests to leave some words of wisdom for us.… View the full post.
