Planning

Isn't this inspiration shoot just dreamy?! I've discovered a new florist crush, Kim Morgan of Gatherer is just so talented. I'm loving the wild installation she has created here, and that bouquet is all kinds of gorgeous too. Images come from the lovely Georgina Harrison who has captured everything here on film, which just adds another dimension of beauty to the photography.

The Venue

Georgina the Photographer: It was a joy to collaborate with Stylist Kim Morgan, The Gatherer and Elena Ferrara, British bridal wear designer to showcase the incredible outdoor Palladian Bridge and Conservatory in the walled gardens at the stunning Scampston Hall. Inspired by the light hues and soft warm tones of the stone and walls in the conservatory we wanted to go for a light ethereal quality with a waft of early spring in the air. Despite shooting early March when the gardens are only just starting to stir with life we still wanted to convey that light, warm feeling that can be achieved with selective colour palettes, fabrics and florals. Many couples still love to have an outdoor airy feel to their day and the conservatory and Palladium are magical spaces.

The Flowers

Kim the Floral Designer: The floral choices in the urn arrangement and bouquets were selected to captivate the smouldering elegance of earliest spring availability. A soft warm palette was used to suggest the stirring of growth in the outside environment and to purvey the impending warmth and rich tapestry that the new season introduces. With the installation, I wanted to encapsulate the meandering qualities of growth in the country garden, with botanicals and florals rising intertwined, moving freely with the gentle breeze as they climb from the ground.

The Dresses

Georgina the Photographer: Elena was keen to use this pretty backdrop to highlight her beautiful bridal separates. The light and fluffy tulle skirt worked wonderfully with the corded backless lace top, bringing a playful and light-hearted sensation to the surroundings. The delicate hand beaded lace top worked beautifully with the pretty, soft chiffon dress, all of which emphasised the feminine ethereal feel of the day. The light qualities of the fabrics created a willowy softness, complimenting the delicate nature and colour of the florals and scenery. Elena says “we chose these dresses to emphasis the versatility of mixing and matching the separates across both the collections, giving brides the freedom to have fun and play with expressing her style on her wedding day”

The Beauty

Having worked with Michelle several times before I knew she was our lady for makeup. Michelle has an incredible sense of style and specialises in cruelty free makeup, which is massively important to me. Michelle works with brides who hold similar beliefs in cruelty free and natural makeup. We wanted to create beautiful, luminous skin for the shoot with a barely there eye. Using Emily’s creative knowledge in hair styling, she created the most soft, romantic hair for our stunning models Britt and Becky. Choosing loose undone looks to echo the free flowing, intertwined look of the shoot.

On Film

I chose to shoot mainly on medium format analogue film for this shoot to really enhance the beautiful soft colour palette and give that ethereal quality.
