September the 2nd I packed my case. Unpacked my case. Repacked my damn case.
Urgh. I can’t stand being a useless fashion geek.
( those blue eyeshadow/baggy at the knee leggings nightmares of my teens still haunt me in times of catastrophic wardrobe malfunction you see)
In the end I decided you can’t go wrong with head to toe black and statement jewellery. So that’s what I decided upon. Black hudson jeans, black warehouse vest, black waistcoat, black KG pointy boots ( detecting a theme here?)…..a black blazer from GAP and some white and grey All Saints lobe candy shoulder sweepers.
Oh and a matching necklace. With lots of flashy fancy dangly bits.
Outfit sorted then…..
Natmags head office was as I expected, full of incredibly stylish model-esque type lovelies who seem to glide around effortlessly in 5 inch heels rather than the usual clip clop wobbling action I have learnt to master over the years ( I say master – it is marginally better than falling flat on my moon-shaped face)
Shortly after my arrival I was sent up in the lift by the very friendly uber tanned man on reception to be met by Madam Eason herself on the 4th floor……
Miranda is tiny – like a dainty doll. And so very lovely and smiley. I immediately felt fine ( and not anything like an Ugly Betty) and sat down with Miranda to go through what I would be experiencing during the day.
And well…….. it was just A.mazing I tell you.
I spent time with the fashion team looking at all their gorgeous ideas for the next issues bridal gowns and how they select their models and locations. I joined them on a jaunt to VVRouleaux to select perfect pieces of silky ribbon and glittery sequin gorgeousness for an upcoming shoot ( and found myself a stunning pair of feather earrings in the process)…..and got taken on a tour of all the latest designer fashion they had to offer.
Brilliant.
Afterwards I accompanied Gemma the features writer to a product launch in Mayfair and then on our return actually went and had a good old nose IN THE BEAUTY CUPBOARD.
Uh huh.
They have a huge massive walk-in cupboard.
Just full of fancy creams. And lipsticks. And shiny glossy goopy fabulousness.
I had literally died and gone to make-up heaven……

In the afternoon I sat with the Art/creative team and saw how they put together the “Steal her Style” pages…..including mine!
I was like “ You make me seem so ultra chic – I will be framing that page on my wall!!!!”
Towards the end of my time at the magazine I mentioned to Miranda how I would like to continue with my writing in some way.
Not sure how exactly – apart from my blog idea of course.
And you know what she said?
That I had a “lovely writing style” and could I write an article for them. Like an actual fash mag writer type person.
What a perfect end to a perfect day.
My article “I did it my way” is out in the Feb/March issue of Cosmopolitan Bride magazine.
OUT NOW.

A big special thanks a million to Miranda Eason and her amazing team.
www.rockmywedding.co.uk wouldn’t be half as successful if it wasn’t for your advice, kindness and support.

You’re Carrie Bradshaw of the Wedding world! It’s like the episode where she went to Vogue to write a column…..and ended up getting totally wrecked with the Editor and … ok that didn’t happen to you (not that you’ve told US anyway…!) you’re such a lucky girl x
