Chic in Cymbeline

July 1st, 2010 by Rebecca@rockmywedding Leave a reply »

If you loved Rachael’s dress from our Gentle Wild Gothic wedding earlier in the week you might have noticed that it was a Cymbeline creation. I have no idea how we have not mentioned their gorgeous gowns before as the collection is breathtaking… with subtly detailed dresses and super cool accessories the range is perfect for a bride wanting to rock her own particular brand of quirky individual style, just like Rachael.

It’s a Frill-fest

Cymbeline excels in the frothy multi layered net frill fest that I am having a bit of a moment with right now… and somehow they seem to make it modern, chic and fashionable. No meringue faux-pas here ladies, feast your eyes on this…

*L-R, Top to bottom: Daylice and Doucer, Dulcinee and Domingo.

Simple and Sweet

That’s not to say however that we haven’t got some serious contenders for a simpler, sweet and pretty look, from Cymbeline.

*L-R, Top to bottom: Dolly and Doa, Disco and Diep

Slimmer shapes, lace lovers and sweetheart necklines… check, check, and check.

Origami Originals

For those who are a fan of fabric folding and a different kind of simplicity, Cymbeline have a few tricks up their sleeve too with bold shapes and fashionable folds.

*L-R, Top to bottom: Dynastie and Duras, Dionne and Dumas.

I see you Baby…

There are also shorter options for the modern bride wanting to shake their thang with a bit of leg ;) If you’re that Bride and reading… you rock it! I might just be a little obsessed with the shorter front/long back option here…

The Final Touches

Honestly, I might have a little bit of a problem here.. not only do I need a Cymbeline dress in my life, I also am practically dribbling over my keyboard perusing the super quirky and uber pretty accessory range… check ‘em out.

So it’s time to get voting… which one’s your favourite, and if that happens to be something you would never normally wear, then include one you would. (Then think long and hard about rocking the one you LOVE!) ;)

Yours Truly,

Rebecca
xoxo

Wow! I want to get married all over again to wear one of these luscious creations. I am torn between the short one with the little bunny-esque tail and a big frothy number, they all look so much fun to wear!

I adore the short one!!! That would have been perfect as my party dress (I’m having two!)

  5. Lora says:

Dulcinee and the short one for me!

Confused me now, as I thought I had found my dress, Pronovias Fauna from the 2011 collection, but I have not tried on any Cymbeline yet, and I think I defiantely should before I make a decision.

  6. Rachael says:

Domingo & what ever the little short bunny one is! I too don’t know how you managed to get this far with out a mention to Cymbeline. Love. It.

  7. Love Cymbeline, my faves are Dolly and Disco! I totally adore their accessories, they way they just sort of trickle.. bootiful!

I love these dresses :-) On another forum someone had posted a picture of a cymbeline with these phrase ‘my dress’ underneath. She was the most BEAUTIFUL bride ever and the photography was amazing…. I waffled on for ages saying how pretty she looked and how wondeful it was to have been married in Paris…..she told me it wasn’t her in the picture, it was the advertisement from cymbeline’s website. hehe, how silly did I feel!!

They are really lovely dresses though x x x

REBECCA!!! What are you doing to me! Posting beautiful dresses this early on a Thursday morning has not helped my already considerable dress wobbles.
    Arrrggghh!
I need need need one in my life. And don’t even get me started on the acessories…kinda makes you wish they did a daywear range so I could rock one of these beauties every day.
    Sigh.

Having been a short wedding dress bride these are the first dresses which could have persuaded me to go strapless and long. It’s the gorgeous necklaces, and they really are neck-lace. Middle bottom row is my favourite accessory.
After all that my favourite dress is Diep – but mainly because of that amazing neck-lace.

Can I have the Doucer dress, look like the model wearing it and get married (again) in Paris please! Wow what stunning dresses and accessories. I normally wouldn’t go for the more frilly dresses but these are stunning. Really like Dolly too.

  12. Anna K says:

Short front long back. Short front long back. Shall I say it again? Short front long back. Plus I want her figure. And to be French. But I want the dress more.

  13. Aisling says:

Oh….we mini-mooned in Paris just 3 weeks ago and these pictures have made me go all tingly! And the dresses….ooooh.
Loving the short-front-long-back gorgeousness, though would also need to order her legs to go with it!
My ‘If I did it again’ dress would be Dolly-so pretty!
    Lucky lucky Rachael!

Dolly is lovely. I want to get married again now!! (to the same man just incase you were wondering!)

  15. Abigail says:

    Ohmygosh!

I am about to start my dress shopping and I am in LOVE!

Dolly is probably my favourite, but I could wear most of them :)

  16. Kates says:

Oh no……Dynastie is giving me SERIOUS dress wobbles!!!! AND it the first dress to do that to me. Simply gorgeous! x

  17. I’m shutting my eyes and trying not to look – they are just too gorgeous!

  18. Laura says:

Pretty pretty pretty! I love Daylice, but it would be a bit big for me – I’d probably go for something more like Delice.

  19. Becca says:

Oh wow – I just love the half-short/half-long one. I’d never be able to wear it, because my fiancĂ© would be so sad… “that’s not a wedding dress!! You can see her feet!!” and, well, I just don’t have the hot legs, but it is so gorgeous!

  20. Peridot says:

Doa and Dynastie both really appeal – and I’m in the market for a dress…. Are they eye-wateringly expensive?

  21. Beccalew says:

Dulcinee was my second choice (I decided on Eloise by Jenny Packham in the end) but it was a difficult choice as Dulcinee really is a fabulous dress!! I have to say that the photo really doesn’t do it justice and when it’s on it’s so much better (I had reservations when seeing it on the hanger but my sister saw it and persuaded me) My friends called it my “fun” option dress as it is so unusual and striking!
I also just wanted to add the bit that looks like it could be a flower on the top right hand side is actually one shoulder strap but with the ruffles all along it, I actually wore it up over that shoulder which l thought looked better than off :-)

  22. I’m totally in love with these dresses. Anyone who is on the search for ‘The One’ should definately check them out… I’d like to cover a lot more of these dresses in our real weddings sections :)

The Beauty of them I think is their versatility… You can just see them working at a winter city chic do, summer gardens, and everywhere inbetween.

    Love. Them.

    Xoxo

  24. Fiona D says:

Oh my………. all are so pretty! I love the last two.

  25. Hannah says:

Wow i am soo in love with so many of these dresses. They are gorgeous! I would possibly have to say that Doucer, Dolly and Disco are my favourites with the bottom, middle necklace as my favourite accessory. I live close by to where Rachel got her dress from in Gentle Wild Gothic so i will be making myself an appointment there soon. I can not wait!!! :-)
    xx
