Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend.

*Diamonds to actually be won in this post – not kidding.

It’s what Marilyn Monroe sang in that breathy girlish voice whilst swathed in crimson taffeta for the 1949 film “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”. I’m sure gentlemen don’t (prefer blondes that is) but I’d bet my collection of statement lobe-candy on the fact the vast majority of ladies fall into the same camp as Madam Monroe i.e there’s nothing quite like a diamond to make your heart skip a beat and feel a million dollars.

And that is exactly what W-day accessory designer Hermione Harbutt thinks, not only is she introducing a completely new-to-the-industry concept known as “The Diamond Service”, she is also giving away a pair of 18K gold 2mm diamond earrings worth £350 to one lucky RMW reader in return for some feedback on her latest venture.

I know.

How generous is she?

Hermione will be launching exclusively at The Designer Wedding Show on Friday and if you are paying a visit you should definitely go take a peek at stand 56, there is much pretty to admire people.

Hermione Harbutt: As a bridal accessories designer I consider myself very lucky to work with brides and I find it such an enjoyable experience. I am passionate about creating beautiful bespoke accessories tailored to suit the personality, style and budget of each of my lovely brides, providing them with unique pieces that will be treasured as heirlooms of the future. For those brides seeking the pinnacle of luxury for their wedding day, I am delighted to announce the launch of The Diamond Service, offering exquisite headdresses handcrafted from pure 18K gold and high quality set diamonds. Following the wedding day, the diamonds will be converted into stunning jewellery of the bride’s choice to wear throughout her married life, and the headdress treasured as a family heirloom. To celebrate the launch at The Designer Wedding Show, two divine showcase pieces have been created. The first headdress presents five diamonds; three stunning half carat diamonds and two 2mm diamonds set into pearl flowers and surrounded by pearl tendrils sweeping from the crown of the head, around the side of the hair to the back in a truly elegant design. The second headdress has detail on both sides of the head and incorporates four 2mm diamonds set into pearl flowers and surrounded by delicate branches of pearls and moonstone.

How fancy is that? a beautiful headpiece for W-day and then some delectable jewels you can wear every day FOREVER….. I die. And for anyone that’s wondering, the diamonds that are made into your very own stylish baubles are replaced with Swarovski crystals so your headdress will always appear perfectly glitzy.

The Hermione Harbutt Diamond Service starts from £2000, Hermione will be show-casing several design options at the Designer Wedding Show from Friday the 10th February.

To be in with a chance to win a pair of these delicious diamond earrings we would like you to do the following:

Pay a visit to Hermione’s website, check out her selection of headpieces and tell us in the comments box if you had the opportunity, which one would be your favourite choice to have a selection of real diamonds set in….?

We would also like you to tell us why diamonds are in fact a girls best friend.

Can’t wait to see your responses lovelies.

Big Shiny Rock Love

P.S Did I say you could win some actual diamond earrings?!

Oh my goodness, what an amazing concept! I think I’d have to choose the May Blossom Headdress (and not because it’s the first one on there!). But there’s such a gorgeous variety there that I’d probably change my mind a few times!

  2. Claire says:

I am slightly biased in my choice, as I have already had the pleasure of working with Hermione to choose some simple pieces for my wedding day. If I were to choose a headdress also I would go for either the Starlight or Honeydew Jewelled Headress, both are beautifully simple but have a stunning combination of crystals and pearls – the perfect setting for a few diamonds. Both headdresses are small enough to complement even the most bejewelled of dresses! (BTW I have Hermione’s Starlight earrings and Antoinette bracelet ready and waiting for my big day, Hermione was brilliant in helping me choose – I can’t recommend her enough! Thank you Hermione!)

  3. HelenHtobe says:

The Vintage Vine The Vintage VIne! it is perfect :) my engagement ring is 3 diamonds and it is the most beautiful piece of jewellery in the world because my husband chose it :)

  4. Ruth says:

Wow! I’m seriously wishing that I had £2000 to spend on a diamond headpiece right now!!

For me, I think it will be the May Blossom Mini Headdress on page 3, love love love it (even without the diamonds!)

I think diamonds are a girls best friend because they are classic, timeless and forever beautiful.
Whilst I love getting them, (seriously, who would say no??) personally the main reason I like them is that I can’t wait to give them to my daughter – there aren’t really any heirlooms in our family and I love the thought of starting a collection of jewellery that can be passed down from generation to generation. To me it feels like a little bit of me and the family that I created with my hubby can be passed down after I’m gone. (sorry, I realise this is slightly morbid!)

Anyway, seriously cool headpieces – I’m off for another nosey xx

  5. Lottie says:

OOOH that was tougher than I thought ! I love the Deco Headdress…so regal, volumptuous and sparkly. Ive been looking for a plentiful piece ( a lot of designers go 50% but dont do the whole hog in making a statement piece … this is STATEMENT). I love love love it. a garnish of diamonds would be the icing on my marrital cake! x

  6. Lisa says:

I love the Vintage vine too, as I love that it sort of separates invisibly.
But I think I’d have to go for the Laurel – a grogeous, classic shape that would just make a stunning finish to any bridal outfit!
Congratulations Hermione – gorgeous, GORGEOUS stuff :)

  7. Laura C says:

Hermione already know just how much I am in love with her vintage vine headdress – and consequently it is not in big fat bold letters on the years Christmas list. (Yes, I just said the C word. In February. Holy Moly.) Anyway, naturally I’d sprinkle a good set of sparkle in. Just because :)

Also, I was watching ‘how to lose a guy in 10 days’ last night (Mr is away = I need constant chick flick supply) and the conversation in it about diamonds is spot on. ‘Selling a diamond to a woman is like making her fall in love. She has to feel giddy, desirous, adventurous, and desperate.A woman in lust wants chocolate, a woman in love wants diamonds’.

Getting married is DEFINATELY the reason to wear diamonds!

  8. Laura C says:

Sorry: realise that is full of spelling mistakes! :(

  9. Lucy S says:

Genius idea… but so impossible to choose! I think it would have to be the Grecian Goddess Headband- so so beautiful and classic you could easily wear it again!

I think (watch out for the soppy) that women love diamonds so much because of their clarity. They look like spring water on a sunny day, full of energy and life and beauty, just how we like to see ourselves. A best friend reflects the best vision of ourselves too, which is why diamonds are a girl’s best friend: full of optimism and shining gorgeousness, even on a day as grey and snowy as today! xxxxx

  10. Roz says:

My favourite is the Rosa, imagine how fab it would look with actual diamonds in the centres?

Diamonds are a girls best friend for so many reasons! I like what Ruth has said about passing them on, I don’t think that’s a morbid reason at all mrs. I don’t wear a lot of jewellery and love popping on something special because it makes me feel good :D Also diamonds will always ‘fit’ even if I’m having a fat day and don’t fit in my favourite outfit! xx

  11. Ruth says:

    @Roz – thanks!
@Laura – haha, I love that quote (and that film come to mention it!)

Realise I got a little bit ahead of myself in my original post, should be hubby-to-be there not hubby! Whoops!

  12. Kirsty says:

What a fab idea, I like the idea of having some piece of the wedding day made into something you can ware for anniversary’s, birthdays or just when you dam feel like it to make yourself feel that extra special. The second headdress is far by my favourite – detail on both sides of the head seems to speak to me …. err hubby to be can our wedding budget include anniversary gift for the next few years too?!
My engagement ring has… 16 diamonds, small but yes they are a girls best friend!

  13. Lucy says:

It would have to be the Rosa headdress. Pearls are my birth stone and have a simple and understated elegance that can be updated in a contemporary style. It has a 1920/30′s feel which suits the era of my engagement ring and its quite beautiful.

I love the indestructible nature of diamonds. Mother nature intended them to be loved forever and forever.

  14. Emily says:

Oh so hard! I absolutely love pearls! I think the Laurel Headress would look so pretty with some low key sparkle among the pearls. But I also love the Antionette tiara for a more classic look. And the idea of the continuity is lovely – I’m actually wiring a brooch of my Grandmother’s (now my mother’s) onto a comb and using that as a sort of tiara substitute, also doubling as my something borrowed (with my Great-Granny’s veil which she wore for her wedding in 1913).

  15. alice says:

oh they are just so lovely! my hubby to be is going to be VERY worried when he gets home and I start my ‘get alice one of those’ campaign!

I agree with Emily about the Laurel headress, which would suit my pearls and leaves theme beautifully, but then I also have a crush on the Tallulah tiara which is just so pretty.

No competition though it has to be the wonderland aliceband for me – NOT ONLY is it almost a replica of the one my fiance’s great grandmother wore with her veil (which is now my veil) but hey, with a name like that it’s got to be a subtle hint that it belongs to me right?

  16. Frances says:

My favourite choice of headdress to have sparkling diamond wonderfulness added to it would have to be “May Blossom”. I have a number of floral designs running through my wedding “style” on the big day! My necklace and bracelet have flowers and rhinestone pearls inside filigree vintage swirls which fit in with my antique-like filigree engagement ring. A pair of diamond earrings to match would be simply divine and add the extra sparkle needed to finish off my whole look.

All the headdresses are beautiful and look like they have been expertly handcrafted but “May Blossom” definitely has a beautiful suggestion of spring turning into summer and the start of new beginnings which is so very apt.

As Marilyn said… “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend”, they last a lifetime just like our expectations for the marriage we are entering into. Our diamond engagement rings are built to last just like the foundations of marriage which make couples stronger. Diamonds are a constant reminder that someone loved us just like “Rock My Wedding” do giving us such lovely ideas!

  17. Louise says:

I love the Honeydew headdress with the beautiful beading on both sides…a little extra sparkle added to this would set it off perfectly!

Diamonds are a girls best friend because they will always cheer you up, will last forever and will make you sparkle that little bit more than you do already…all the things a great friend should do!

  18. Jolene says:

    What an amazing giveaway!

My favourite would have to be the Tallulah Crystal headdress – its so beautiful. I love the vintage feel to it but its also so classic and and sophisticated.

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend because they’re so timeless and last forever. And they’re SPARKLY!

  19. Gemma C says:

This is dangerous…we only booked our wedding yesterday and I actually want everything on this website! Favourites have to be the Rosa Headress and the Ritz Headress.

  20. Gemma C says:

…Ooo and diamonds are a girls best friend because aren’t we all like our best friends?!? : )

  21. Grace says:

I would choose the Honeydew Jewelled Headdress because it is beautiful yet simple. I love the pearls on it and some sparkle would complement it beautifully.

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend because they are rare so make a very special gift. They can be a lasting reminder of just how much that person cared about you so that every time you see them sparkle it makes you smile. Plus they always make you look and feel extra amazing when you wear them, they go with everything and they’ll never go out of fashion!

  22. abigail says:

I would adore some lovely diamonds encrusted into the ‘peacock glamour’ headdress, it’d look fantastic at my art deco inspired wedding!
I think diamonds are a girls best friend because even if i’m having a rubbish day or feeling like I look less than perfect, I can look down at my engagement ring, see the sparkly diamonds and feel instantly cheered up. I’ve had it for around seven months now and I still stare at my engagement ring like an entranced magpie! Diamonds add a little glamour and excitement to everyday life and can be a lasting heirloom, which I think is a lovely thing to have!

  23. Emily says:

oooh and diamonds are a girl’s best friend because they have a depth and a way of capturing and reflecting the light which draws the eye. The diamonds in my engagement ring make me grin like an idiot every time I see them…er, so I spend all day typing and smiling to myself.

  24. Harriet says:

Wow what a gorgeous collection and such a great and sentimental idea behind it too. If our budget would allow then I would choose one of the laurel headdresses, not sure which one as they’re both so pretty I don’t know whether to go for the big one or the smaller one! Laurel headdresses are what Greek athletes wore when they won the Olympics right? So I would love to wear one (with a little bit of added sparkle) on one of the greatest days of my life!
As for the reasons why diamonds are a girl’s best friend I think it’s because of the memories evoked, mine are a daily reminder of my best friend and that I am his too. Hermione’s collection that creates a new item from a wedding day item continues this timeless memory idea :)

  25. Candice says:

I have been looking for the perfect bracelet to wear with my dress for a while now and then Flourish Cuff Bracelet has got to be the best I have seen, I think some diamonds would only make it better :) They could never hurt could they!

I think diamonds are a girls best friend cos who can be unhappy looking at something so beautiful?

  26. Jeanie says:

Wow oh wow I live the rosa so much! Would be spectacular with diamonds in!

And I never knew the appeal of diamonds and wasn’t too bothered about them until I was given a ring with a sapphire and two little diamond beauties and now I am SOLD! I feel dressed up at all times. The are so precious and I love it!

  27. Lauren A says:

Loooove the Deco Deluxe Jewelled headband, it is so beautiful!! The concept of these headbands is so clever, what a great way to create a double heirloom!

  28. Gem says:

Oh my goodness! I adore this concept! I love the idea of having something so beautiful on my wedding day but then having some stunning pieces to wear every day of my marriage.
I would pick the May mini headdress. Its so delicate, I love the vintage feel of it and as my wedding is 5th of May and has a vintage May day theme, its perfect!

And I think diamonds are a girls best friend mainly because my husband to be bought me them. I love shiney things, but the fact that he picked out the most gorgeous ring all by himself means the world to me. And the fact that those super shiney diamonds are a symbol of our life together, forever, makes them all the shinier.

Now, how to convince him that a wedding isn’t a wedding without a beautiful Hermione Harbutt headdress?

  29. Claire says:

Oh wow wow wow what a dangerous link to provide for me 52 days before my wedding! Def at that stage where another £100 can’t hurt surely! Anyway my fav would def be Laurel Headdress because my heart actually jumped when I saw it. It is stunningly beautiful. Maybe it’s because i’m poorly and have no sense of proportion but right now I need to have it. Also WOW what an amazing idea to have real diamonds in the headband AND then to be able to put them into a different piece of jewellery so that you could have a little bit of your wedding on any special occasion! I adore diamonds and a girls best friend because they can sparkle and always brighten up your day :D (Although they are not very good at planning a hen do…I’ve tried it…don’t advise it!)

  30. Claire says:

My favourite headpiece is without a doubt the Antique Rose Jewelled Headdress. It is so elegant and would fit in with the theme I want for my wedding.
I think that diamonds are in fact a girl’s best friend because:
They reflect the true value of a woman; her sparkle for life; her beauty; her sustainability; her style; her glamour; her pride and her honour. Diamonds remind a woman of who she truly is and how she deserves to be treated (and above all else that she is the most beautiful woman in the world).

  31. Faye says:

Think this is a lovely concept for all brides lucky enough to wear real diamonds in there hair, I love the idea of them going on to be a special piece of jewelry. The Rosa forehead headdress is my favorite, although they are all very pretty this is a stand out for me…and diamonds are a girls best friend because when you are lucky enough to receive them they always put a smile on a girls face :)

  32. Shirley says:

@Charlotte – what have you done to us?! There are so many headdresses to choose from!!! They are all beautiful but my (very close) favourite is the vintage vine one purely because its quite similar to the one I’m currently waiting to receive!

And why diamonds – well, they remind you of the fact that someone out there things you’re very special and the best feeling in the world is to know that you’re loved.

  33. Kerrianne says:

I love love love the Deco Deluxe Crystal hair band – what a treat that would be with real diamonds! Gorgeous!
I feel personally that there is something so emotive about diamond jewellery. It symbolises love and eternity and that is so lovely! Also, my beautiful solitaire engagement ring symbolises the care and attention my fiancee went to to secretly save for it, and to arrange our special engagement day. It was such fabulous day full of love with friends and family and my diamond reminds me of that every time I see it sparkle!

  34. Lisa says:

    Hello!!

The Deco Deluxe is my choice, it’s beautiful.

As a total jewel novice, I have been looking at crystals, rhinestones, beads and pearls for months trying to source all the perfect sparklers as I am hand beading my lace wedding dress – maybe diamonds are what I need instead!

You know I have no idea why diamonds are a girls best friend, no idea. While they are beautiful, precious and sparkly, the magic is probably in the reason why they are given as a gift in the first place.

  35. alice says:

My diamonds are my best friend because they were given to me by my man and sit all twinkly on my finger reminding me how much he loves me

  36. Sophie says:

Got to be the Rosa – so understated & classy.

And diamonds are a girl’s best friend because they are the most beautiful allotrope of carbon in the world, I mean no one wants graphite or buckminsterfullurene in their wedding day tiara? Am I right ladies?

    x

  37. Charlotte says:

What a lovely new design concept! The Grecian Goddess headdress is my favourite, although they are all very pretty this is a stand out for me as it is has an understated beauty about it. Diamonds in this beautiful headdress would take it to a whole new level. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend because they are beautiful, classic, timeless and can be passed from generation to generation and never go out of style!

  38. Cassandra says:

The Peacock Glamour headdress really is a beautiful piece. It’s a statement headpiece which still looks elegant and delicate. I’d love something like that for my wedding.

And diamonds are so classic and beautiful how can they NOT be a girls best friend. They never date, they always sparkle and they make you feel special. I know because my engagement ring was my mothers. It was made in the 70′s and it looks as beautiful now as it did then. I couldn’t be happier with it!

  39. H says:

Rock My Wedding, you amaze me with all the gorgeousness you bring to my life! The only problem being I need a much bigger bank balance to cope! Hermione Harbutt is onto a winner there, such a great idea to turn the jewels into something much more useable on a daily basis. Not that I can afford 2grand for a headdress. I have to admit, I’m falling a bit in love with the Odette Feather Headdress. Did I say a bit? I think I mean, pass me my credit card! Those pearls look so beautiful next to the feather.

Why are diamonds a girls best friend? I guess it’s because they don’t tarnish and stay just as beautiful always. If someone spends time and money giving you a diamond then you know how special and precious their love is.

  40. Lucy says:

I met Hermione at The National Wedding Show last March and knew immediatley that I would be buying something from her. Nearly a year on I am the very proud owner of my very own bespoke Hermione Harbutt design (loosely based on the fab Deco Deluxe but with some serious feather action) which I had ordered before I had even picked my dress! I honestly cannot recommend Hermione enough and just wish that my budget would stretch for another one (which would be the Elouise Headdress, by the way), though I think that would be a little extravagant (or would it?)! I entirely cannot wait until September when I get to show my headdress off to everyone on my big day, and cannot thank Hermione enough for the work she put into making the design concept we discussed a reality (hopefully the very excited and slightly high-pitched phone call she got from me after I opened the parcel expressed some of that thanks!)

  41. K says:

I truly always had myself tagged as ‘not a jewellery’ person until I got my engagement ring, and now there’s no stopping me… I love the Laurel Grande, I’m going to feel like a winged Victory on my wedding day anyway, so this would be the finishing touch.

And diamonds are a girl’s best friend because they’re elegant, beautiful – and when they’re a bit tired can be perked up no end with a lick of vodka.

  42. Caroline H says:

That would be such a lovely idea to have a family heirloom from my wedding, I have visions of great grandchildren imagining me as the glamourous goddess I wish I was! More importantly though, how fabulous to be able to transform the diamonds into some lovely sparkly jewellery (along with the all important ring!) to wear to remind me of the day! How I too wish I had a slightly larger wedding budget. Sigh…

I absolutely adore the Vintage Vine head dress, so delicate and with a couple of twinkly diamonds in there to set it off, it would be exquisite! Just Beautiful.

  43. Hilary says:

I just love the May Blossom headdress, its just so gorgeous how it wraps around the side and with a few sparkling diamonds it would look stunning.
My engagement ring has started my love affair with diamonds the way they catch the light is just beautiful. For the first couple of months I would just find myself staring at the sparkling diamonds – often when driving – which was a little hairy sometimes! They just make a piece of jewellery timeless.

  44. Oh my goodness, there are too many beauties to choose! I think if I had to pin it down to one, it would be tallulah. I love how delicate it is.
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend because they never let you down :)

  45. Missy J says:

    I <3 the Starlight Triple Headdress…
My wedding dress has sparkly twinkly small stars on it and this would just go perfectly! Hermione I want you to make peoples heads turn with what's on my head!
Diamonds are a girls best friend, they twinkle twinkle like a little star…and how wonderful to wear diamonds when marrying your best friend. Together forever twinkling through the good and the bad, lasting forever and ever. xxx

  46. Helen Jenkins says:

I think that the perfect headdress for diamands is the antique rose. It is simple elegant and would look beautiful with some little twinkling diamonds. The headdresses a just lovely and I would love to wear any one of these beautiful pieces.

Diamonds – well of course they are a girls best friend! I studied geology at university and learned all about how they are formed, so when I got engaged I knew my diamond had to be special. I asked my H2B for a blue diamond and he did the rest. I am now the very proud owner of the most beautiful diamond and getting married to the most wonderful man – my best friend!

  47. Claire Fitzpatrick says:

Oh yey, I did enjoy looking at all of them, but I would have to say its the 1920′s Ritz Forehead Headdress for me! Utterly beautiful, and timeless, the look I’m trying to emulate on my big day!

Diamonds are shiny, elegant and ultra hardwearing – the perfect accessory. Plus, girls love to know someone has spent a lot of cash on them! They signify prestige.

  48. Siân says:

these are truely beautiful headdresses. who needs a veil when these are so gorgeous! I think every style of bride would find one to suit their look. picking just one is so hard & pure dip in to the fantasy for me! I wear pearls quite a bit so the cute Dragonfly headdress caught my eye along with the Alicia jewelled headband for more of a statement. but the deco Delux Jewelled Headdress, especially since the bride is wearing with a birdcage veil, is the best of both worlds. It would fit with my dress idea of short vintage loveliness. *sigh* a girl can dream

  49. Carol says:

They are all so pretty but my favourite is the Elsie headress, it is detailed and gorgeous but still quite delicate so it would not demand all the attention!
My only diamond is my engagement ring which makes me smile everytime I look at my finger, so a diamond is one of my very good friends!!

  50. Petra says:

    Wow! It’s tough to choose!

I think I love the Elsie headdress. It got not so much in detail which is I think it gonna help the wedding dress, brid’s make up and everything more sofisticated!

Please give me the diamond 55 ^__<

  51. Ashleigh says:

I have already fallen in love with the “Laurel” headpiece a little while ago when I spotted it on Hermione’s website. I know that it’s supposed to appear as laurel branches (funnily enough huh?) but the minute I saw it, it reminded me of ears of corn. My bridesmaids are carried wheat sheaves as bouquets instead of floral arrangements to tie in with my split-personality of a theme. On one hand we’re going all out to create something rustic and rural (think haybales, and cart horses) and thus we chose the wheat for the girls; but then I’m also a sucker for the luxe and I didn’t want to sacrafice elegance and glamour in favour of a farm-yard setting. So I’m sprinkling it all with a little bit of extra pretty anyway. The Laurel headpiece WITH diamonds?? It would compliment all of the wheat floating about the place (I’m having dried wheat in with the hydrangeas in my own bouquet!) and the sparkle too. Dream come true much?

As for why diamonds are a girls best friend? I think it’s pretty standard that we all look for the same qualities in our friends, someone who is super-duper strong but brimming with feminine charm? Someone who can make you feel like a glamour puss even when you’re wearing tartan PJ’s and no makeup (looks in mirror)? Someone who all of the other people around you recognise for their beauty and intrinsic quality? Who *wouldn’t* want a friend like that?

  52. Laura says:

I had a peek at the hair pieces, but just a quick one, my wedding is in 6 weeks and I must stop looking at all these pretty things before I go way over budget!!
The Flutter one stood out to me as Butterflies were my Nan’s favourite thing before she passed away a few years ago. So whenever I see them they make me think of her.
This whole post made me think of my Nan actually when I saw those beautiful earrings were up for grabs. She always wanted me to have my ears pierced when I was younger but being a bit of a tom boy I never did, even when she offered to pay for me to have it done EVERY birthday and Christmas! I still don’t have my ears pierced to this day. However I have been debating getting them done for the wedding as I know it would’ve made her happy to see some pretty sparkly things on my ears to make my bridal look complete. This made me think about it again…. Maybe it’s a sign.
If I win them then how could I resist! :)
Diamonds are a girls best friend because Marilyn says so…. That lady knew how to look good!
45 days to go until my big day! Loving RMW, so glad I found it!! xx

  53. Emma Fielder says:

My favourite is the Ritz feather head dress. Very vintage and elegant. Also I’ve seen alot of weddings inspired my birds (bird cages etc) and this would fit in perfectly!!

  54. Helen says:

Eeeek – I love Hermione!! I am having a bespoke design based on Neville Crystal Lace for my wedding in September along with a cuff and earrings! I have very much enjoyed going to see Hermione and talking through the designs. She is just SO lovely!!
I am however quite glad that the diamond option wasn’t around when I was looking as I fear I would have found it too hard not to go for it!!
The reason I love diamonds?? Is that I am lucky enough to have found someone who loves me so much and thought I was special enough to buy me the most amazing and beautiful engagement ring. Everytime I catch sight of it – I smile. Because he loves me…..
and I can’t wait to marry him and wear my Hermione headdress(!!) xxxx

  55. Kirst says:

I love them all… but Ritz is very me :)

Diamonds just make a piece of jewellery timeless.

  57. Natasha says:

For me it would have to be the Alicia Headband- I have wildly curly hair and I would be petrified of one of the little blighters getting caught or snagging in my hair! Plus the Alicia is beautiful.

Diamonds are the ultimate best friends because they are always there sparkling and glimmering – they never fail to raise your spirits and make you smile, whether they be in you hair, your ears or on your finger! They are the most classic and timeless way of showing your love and devotion to someone.

  58. Tilly says:

As another curly-haired RMW fan, I’m also voting ‘Alicia’, although I’m tempted by ‘Eloise’ as well…

Why are diamonds a girl’s best friend? For me, it’s because they represent two things. Firstly, the giddy transparency of love; that moment when a diamond is given and it is made absolutely clear that you are ready to commit to spending the rest of your life with someone else. As such, diamonds can serve as a daily reminder of the excitement and possibility in a relationship. Secondly, diamonds are a girl’s best friend because they can be used to remind us that good things come out of periods of immense pressure – geological or emotional! We all enter into commitments with our other halves knowing that things will sometimes be tough and, when we face those times, we can look at our ‘rocks’ and know that the end result will always be worth it. What a great idea! I think Hermione is finally addressing what is a major problem with buying expensive jewelry for a wedding- mainly, when will you ever wear it again? At least this way you end up with the fancy headdress and all of those warm memories wrapped up in your diamonds. If I had to chose, I think diamonds would look terrific in the middle of the roses on the Rosa Forehead Headdress.

I never really cared too much for diamonds in the past. That changed when my Fiance surprised me with his great grandmothers wedding ring. Knowing that this diamond had immigrated from Poland, survived multiple wars, been the wedding ring of three generations (I’ll be the fourth) suddenly made the whole concept make sense to me. Suddenly I saw a reason to invest in jewelry that is elegant and timeless enough that my great grand daughter will also want to wear it.

omg! how fabulous! upon visiting hermione’s website i really was given a visual treat, her beautiful designs are breath taking! i heart the vintage vine head dress….so chic & simply stunning!

  61. Megan says:

I absolutely love the Titania Lace Headdress! It’s so pretty and sparkly!
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend because they symbolise so much love, joy and affection from the person who gives them to you. Diamonds are so special!

I would love to see the May Blossom!

for me diamonds are a girls bf because like diamonds I chose my best friends carefully and thoughtfully and then I cherish and hold them close to my heart.

  63. This is easy for me – I love the Vintage Vine as it has detail on both sides.

Diamonds are a girls best friend as they sparkle and can be gifted to other ladies in your family. I have my fiance’s great grandmothers trilogy diamond ring from the early 1900s and it is amazing how the stones are so amazingly sparkly.

  64. Louise Nicholson says:

Wowzers. How can a girl choose from these sparkly little wonders?! I am stuck with a choice of three, in the following order of preference…Wonderland headband. Gorgeous statement with a really timeless quality to it. Rosa. Delicate, but still a stylish piece that oozes originality. Elsie. Beautiful, simple, elegant. Seriously, I am spoiled for choice. I think diamonds are a girl’s best friend simply because they sparkle in the light, they get better with age, they enhance rather than take the spotlight and are a lasting symbol of the love between a bride and her h2b.

  65. Laura Griffiths says:

one word……stunning! They really are beautiful so congratulations to any lucky bride that will be wearing one of them!
I have to say my favourite is……….Honeydew Jewelled headress. So lovely, not too complicated and will make any bride feel like a princess!
I have tiny diamonds in my engagement ring and nothing has ever made me feel so special. In my opinion they make the person wearing them sparkle as much as the diamond does. xx

Hi,this looks like a great service!

Gorgeous headpieces etc, but if these are to become heirloom pieces do we know and have confirmation of the provenance of the diamonds?

Please can you let me know as I would love to do this for my wedding next year !

For me the head piece I would choose to add diamonds to is Tallulah. It is delicate and pretty and diamonds would add that extra sparkle close to your eyes! For me diamonds are a girls best friend because of what they represent. When my gorgeous Fiance chose my engagement ring, he went for a trilogy representing yesterday, today, forever…. what more can you say, bless his heart.

  68. Sarri says:

Tricky choice – but I think it’d be the vintage vine headdress for me – it’d be a beautiful complement to the simple lace 60s shift dress I’m going to wear for our wedding later this year.

I can’t speak for all diamonds, but the diamonds in my engagement ring make my heart skip a beat whenever I look at them, just for reminding me of the lovely man who gave me them.

  69. Clare says:

So tricky to choose but I love the Vintage Vine headdress. Absolutely stunning and would look gorgeous with my hair tied up.

  70. I’m not sure when this ended? or if it has, but I love the Neville Crystal Lave Headdress.

I was it at the Designer Wedding Showing and the whole collection is so much more beautiful in person.

  71. jennifer semisa says:

I had such a hard time picking just 1 piece there was not one head piece I did not like… but I did choose the
“Grecian Goddess Headdress”, this piece is amazing, so simple but elegant, the detail work with the pearls I just love!!’
I believe diamonds are a girls BF not only are they just beautiful but for me I feel very confident when I wear them.
Thanks for this giveaway!! Good luck everyone

  72. Stephanie Hoyle says:

I think the May Blossom headress is amazing as the style is not only delicately beautiful but also because of the way it flows around the wearers head so it can be seen from all directions. Diamonds are a girls best friend they remind you of that fateful day when the man that you love (finally) got down on one knee and asked you to marry him!! xxx
