Dresses That Dreams Are Made Of.

*Nice things to win at the end of this post*

Dresses that dreams are made of – that’s what I thought about the 2011 Temperley Bridal collection…

And then I saw the 2012 “Ophelia” range. I swear, for the first ten minutes I couldn’t say a word (and that’s a long time for me – I can talk a lot). The gowns are breathtaking, and I don’t tend to throw that adjective around unless well… something literally takes my breath away.

Adam and I were invited to Temperley HQ yesterday, a beautiful mews in Notting Hill that is home to all of Alice Temperley’s delicious designs including the aforementioned bridal ready-to-wear and bespoke pieces. Think intricate detail, elongated body skimming silhouettes and voluminous tulle appliqué skirts. Think exquisitely draped silks, fine French laces and timeless, feminine, ethereal pretty…

Think…I die.

Having only previously been available from the London, Los Angeles and Dubai Boutiques Ophelia is going wholesale world-wide – meaning it will become a whole lot more convenient for you lovelies to enjoy the Temperley experience should one of the oh-so-elegant frocks take your fancy.

I really enjoyed creating this collection; there is something for every Temperley woman – from the original bare footed Bohemian to our New York City Hall contemporary bride to our romantic full skirted princess and our Art Deco vintage nostalgic – Our brides always wear the dress rather than being worn by it, and they can dance all night, look beautiful and also feel themselves which is something that should never be forgotten on their wedding day. ’ Alice Temperley, MBE

The Temperley Bridal line evolved after Alice’s own wedding in 2002 to Lars von Bennigsen when after designing her own W-day gown she received many requests from friends to create their big day dresses. Alice’s gown was very similar to the Honeysuckle design that remains a permanent fixture of the classic line along with one of my if-I-did-it-again-I-would-be-very-tempted numbers – the ever lovely layered Dragon dress.

And along with the Dragon there are a fair few frocks from this collection I will be adding to that “if” list, prepare yourselves for a serious Saturday swoon-fest folks…

From top: The Arianna and the Vida.

From Top: The Chloe and the Draped Scarlett.

From Top: The Dove and the Augustina.

From Top: The Crystal Imara and the Camille.

From Top: The Emmeline and the Kelly.

From Top: The Mirage and the Amoret.

From Top: The Aurelea and the Penelope.

Ophelia 2012 also introduces accessories, including decadent head pieces, embellished sashes for the waist and wrists and an expansion of shrug and veil categories. And when I say veil I mean VEIL – if you wear one of these you won’t want to take it off all day. Promise.

We were lucky enough to be given some very generous goody bags by Temperley with posh teas, gorgeous candles and whatnot inside and as I also managed to pinch Adam’s when he wasn’t looking we’re generous and all we’d like to give one away, just tell us which is your favourite gown from the collection by dropping us a comment. If it’s the same as mine then we’ll send a very fancy bag with Mr Posty your way (and if there is more than one that guesses right I’ll get out the RMW polka dot hat and we’ll do a wee draw).

Warning: The candle smells so insanely awesome you may be tempted to eat it.

You can see some Temperley RMW real wedding pretty here and here

Big If You Ever Buy One Of These I Will Be As Jealous As Hell Love

Oh my! I have to say I had the honor of trying on some temperly in their outlet store. Heaven I tells ya.

Loving the Emmeline mostly – though it was damn hard to pick!

Also, that tiara/crown thing on the Mirage picture, am very much wanting to wear that at my desk this week :P

  2. Colette says:

So many beautiful dresses but I think the first one – the Arriana

  3. Claire Bates says:

Ooh, tricky. I’m going to say either the Augustina or the Kelly. But which one, it’s a tough decision. I’ll have to say the Augustina!

  4. Steph says:

    Eeny meeny miney mo……Arianna

  5. Kelly {WWW} bride says:

Kelly….what a weird coincidence, it’s just beautiful and the fur with Mirage is gorge, hmmm just what I’ve looking for for our December wedding. Not Jel of the goody bag at all…….

  6. leila says:

After MUCH deliberation, I’ve decides the Amoret.is my favourite. Love all the lace and the little sleeves are gorgeous. And the neckline is so chic! I want it!

  7. Becca says:

Oh my, I think it has to be Amoret. The lace is just amazing. Such a beautiful dress.

You’re right though, the entire collection is breath taking. And the veils… wow… x

  8. Pamela says:

I love the dragon! Can you imagine walking down the aisle in a dress called the dragan! Amaze.

@Laura C – that crown is possibly the best thing I’ve seen since I found a crown of flowers (Lana del Rey styley) on Amazon…do you think I could wear both together? God, how good would it be if that has just ‘fallen’ into the goody bag!

    x

  9. Sarah says:

Oh so much pretty but I think I’d say the Kelly. Not that it would be forgiving for those of us with more chest that Kiera Knightley but it’s just gorgeous.
    x

  10. Anna Galvin says:

It has to be the Camille – what an awesome dress!

  11. beccles says:

Oh my… Well I think MY favourite is the Kelly – wouldnt you feel just like Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra in that?? Totally glamourlicious. But I think that Charlotte’s favourite might be The Arianna! x x x

  12. Juliet says:

Oh my to the Chloe! :-) x

  13. Aime says:

Wow these are absolutely beautiful! And what a gorgeous model too.
My favourite has to be the Emmeline, super feminine and elegant.

  15. Rebecca says:

    All lush. Arianna x

  16. Emma says:

My favourite would definitely be the Arianna. Total swoon!!

  17. Alex H(K) says:

Oh the Amoret, loving all that lace! Xxx they are all gorg tho!

  18. Peridot says:

Far too difficult! The Arianna, Camille and Penelope – all too gorgeous to call it.

  19. Kelly Wisker says:

What a stunning collection! It’s got to be the Arianna – such beautiful detailing and shape.

  20. Fiona says:

    The Kelly <3 Glamourama!!!

  21. Katey says:

How gorgeous are all these dresses ! But if I’m forced to pick one & I have to say I’m not sure why im drawn above all the others but the Dove dress just screams wear me !!!! I love it !!!!!

  22. Nikki says:

All gorgeous! Absolutely love the Vida! x

  23. Helen says:

Chloe or Kelly, Chloe or Kelly, Chloe or Kelly…?

Chloe! The wee bit of asymmetry is just :O

  24. Tabitha says:

They are all so incredibly beautiful!!

The one I keep going back to though is the Arianna, it’s so simple but such beautiful shapes and lines. To be greedy though, the Kelly would be the dream dress if I could look as amazeballs as that model in it and if I could pick one right now to wear for my wedding I would choose now the Aurelea, very simple and elegant and me! X

  25. Lynsey says:

Wow!! It has to be the Vida so so so beautiful and just the smallest of detail to make it look so very different from every other dress out there. I am developing an unhealthy obsessesion with looking at dresses online having not actually started shopping yet and every now and then you see a dress and your heart lifts a little and you think “that’s it, that’s the one”. That just happened with Vida. Sigh….. x

  26. Draped Scarlett for me. I am already thinking what jewellery and shoes I would wear this dress and I am an old married.

  27. Bryony says:

The Arianna is gorgeous! I love the neck line!

  28. Elaine Mawbey says:

    Emmeline is absolutely divine

  29. LadyFushia says:

I think the Draped Scarlett is just gorgeous. Simple lines but serious wow factor and very different to a lot of your typical wedding dresses out there.

The Kelly is very glam too but I couldn’t get away with wearing something so low cut, so definitely the draped scarlett for me :)

  30. Lynsey A says:

Although they are all gorg-e-ous, I’ve decided (with some help from wee jimmy the cat) that it has to be Arianna. Would love to wear that on W-day! x

  31. Holly says:

    So. much. pretty.

Oh if only I had a temperley budget. The winner for me is the emmeline – love the art deco-esque glamour, x

  32. Carolyn says:

Kelly = jaw dropper. oh. my. goodness.

  33. Alex says:

I think its the Kelly – that dress is amazing! Oh i wish they did a budget range for us mere mortals! xxx

  34. Ruth says:

    Oooh wow, so much pretty!!

I think my fave is the Dove – ahhh the ruffles!!

    Ruth xx

p.s. that model is beautiful it hurts my eyes a bit x

  35. Jeanie says:

Wow they are so beautiful! Kelly for me. What a beautiful gown! X

  36. JoL says:

So hard to choose – for me it would be the arianna, I think all the others require an amazingly willowy figure like this model has to look really good. But i think Charlottes favourite will be the amoret which would be my second choice.

  37. Sarah26 says:

Love love the Arianna beautiful. X

  38. Louise says:

Nothing like the dress I’ve actually chosen for my w-day but for me it is the dove all the way – beautiful, beautiful, beautiful…

  39. Claire Fitzpatrick says:

OH MY its a tricky decision, and I would love any of these but I do think the Kelly shines out the most.

  40. Emily says:

Emmiline is beautiful – like a roman princess

  41. Shell (now Mrs H!) says:

    Oh Lordy-these dresses are divine!!!

I actually gasped when I saw Arianna-that dress is so beautiful it hurts! I have a sneaky suspicion it might also be Charlotte’s fav dress too :) The cut of the dress is amazing and so, so sophisticated-Charlotte, it reminds me of your own wedding dress-very grown up and glamorous!!

I would get married all over again just so I could wear that dress 

I also think the Emmeline (with the beautiful detailing) and the Chloe (with it’s gorgeous Grecian style) come a close second and third.

Even the accessories made me gasp-i am lusting after that headpiece on the model wearing the draped scarlet dress.

I think I need to lie down after all this excitement!

    Thanks for sharing RMW xxx

  42. Helen says:

It’s the Dove for me. It almost makes me wish I wasn’t married!

The draped Scarlett is just beautiful! So elegant. x
