Flo Loves Percy & Percy Loves Flo

I know we keep banging on about Vintage being the hottest bridal buzzword, but we know that lots of our lovely readers are planning a wedding with a Vintage theme. For all of you who email us telling us so, we hear ya!

Just to prove it, we thought we would focus today on some glorious examples of Vintage inspired accessories for your bridal ensemble.

There are of course many companies offering vintage inspired accessories, or in fact true vintage pieces, either lovingly restored, or reworked with care whilst embracing their previous origins. The romance of the past shines though these pieces lending a soft glamour to the wearer and no-one does it better than Flo & Percy.

Sported by numerous celebrities and finalists in the 2009 buyers awards, Flo & Percys owner/designer Kirstie Taylor keeps a close eye on current trends blending them with vintage classic influences. The company was rather whimsically named after Flo and Percy, the record holders for the longest married couple in the world at 80 years! If that isn’t Romance then I don’t know what is.

And just look at the selection here, with enough vintage styling to complete a retro classic look, yet touches like beadwork and sequins which rock out with the current fashion trends. With collections called Looking Glass, Wonderland and Gatsby the pieces literally scream vintage glamour.

I’m particularly loving the diamante feather Moulin comb in the limited edition Moulin collection, sooooo ‘SJP gets married’! Almost makes me want to waltz down the aisle again, just to wear that Georgina headband on my forehead, a la the roaring 20′s, or how about partying like a true flapper girl this festive season?! And for all Gossip Girl fans out there… (who me?) how Blair Waldorf is the Bara Bow band?

Sigh.

I may just want them all…

With dresses becoming simpler, a stand out accessory like these really finishes off a look or indeed perfectly compliments the gowns featuring heavily sequined and beaded panels (check out our Jenny Packham article for proof). Head on over to Flo & Percy right this minute to check out their beautiful collections.

Yours Truly,

Contra
xoxo

P.S. Are you turning to Flo & Percy for your accessories or did you wear them on your big day?

Drop me a line – we would love to feature your vintage inspired details!

I almost bought one of their vintage headbands, they are lovely. I ended up buying mine from another gorgeous site – http://www.vintageheaddresses.com – who also do real vintage pieces. I love that these pieces have some history to them, and mostly that mine is a one-off piece so I know no-one else will be wearing it!!
