Handbags And Gladrags

Now then.

There are many many thousands of covetable handbags out there….. from your classic Hermes Birkin, to your statement hot pink Mulberry Bayswater, to your logo lovers monogrammed Louis Vuitton Brentwood. Utterly delectable pieces of arm candy with waiting lists of a gazillion models, actresses and TV personalities.

And do you know what?

There is still no bag on earth that turns my head and makes me do a little dance of glee as much as one designed by Lulu Guiness.

Blame my mother if you will, for it was she who bestowed upon me my first ever LG piece of unique kitsch perfection. A large black shopper with patent edging and a giant stiletto shoe embroidered motif, all those many years ago.

For the most part I try and avoid the LG website for fear of wanting EVERYTHING in sight.

Except right now of course with the sole reason of sharing what’s on offer with all of you lovely lovely readers.

( OK well a maybe a little bit for my own viewing pleasure)

From the Holiday 09 collection ( the London inspired selection) :

Lulu-London-1

The Union Jack Tapestry “Jenny” £225
The London Print “Carmella” £195
The London Souvenir Shop “Anna” £150

From The Clutch “lips” collection ( a bit on the expensive side these but keep-forever-worthy I would say):

Lulu-Lips

The Union Jack Snakeskin £395
The Swarovski crystallized £595
The Black Perspex £195

From The Holiday 09 Collection ( The classic gorgeousness):

Lulu-Classic-

The Crocodile Print “Lucille” £450
The Black Satin “Pollyanna” £250
The Wool Flannel “Wanda” £225

From The City Tote Selection :

Lulu-shopper

All at the purse pleasing price of £50 each.

This year marks Lulu Guiness’s 20th anniversary and in a recent interview celebrating her two decades of success she was quoted as saying ” As long as my bags are conversation pieces I am happy”

Well they certainly are that lady.

So if you’re looking for an ultra glam accessory to add the perfect finish to your wedding guest ensemble look no further than Madam LG.

I want THEM ALL.

P.S Was just thinking – how cool would the crystal encrusted lips clutch look as a bridal evening bag?! so wish I had thought of that.

I have loved LG since I saw the bag she designed that was inspired by glam rock and reminded me of the girls world I had when I was a little girl. I now own two of her bags and they go with everything and are so unusual that they will never go out of style xx

I’m lucky enough to pass the City LG shop on the way to and from work every day and usually lust after the latest bags in the window most days.

For our honeymoon I bought the Quilted Lips Large Edith in cream colour. I absolutely love it! It went with everything and can’t wait to go on another sunshine holiday to give it another outing!
