Hats Off To You Pet.

I love hats. Not many suit me to be honest ( it’s the round moon head I have going on) but I can’t help but feel more than a little bit envious of a wedding guest or indeed a MOB who is wearing some seriously unique and chic head candy to W-day.

It seems that there are some FABULOUS pieces around at the moment and we are seeing more and more brides forgoing a veil or a tiara for something a little more non-traditional….. and dare I say a little more “them”?

Not to mention bridesmaids…..RMW would be LOVING to see a set of your favourite girls rocking some kind of birdcage or indeed a fancy statement fascinator.

In fact we would love to hear about any of you gorgeous lot who are considering choosing something similar to the little selection of lovelies we found over at Milliner William Chambers

Bring it on.

For The Unique Bride

Starting with the oh-so- pretty, the glass beaded grecian head band and the crystal double band – delicately delicious.

The cutest birdcage and the most stunning floral headpiece – comes in a range of colours should you decide to perhaps offer your maid of honour something spectacular. ( Lucky Lady)

Short and sweet dress? then perhaps consider this hand beaded silk organdy bow. SUPER cute.

Going boho on the beach in a floaty number? then please please someone treat themselves to these oversize camellia’s… I.AM.IN.LOVE.WITH.THEM.

For The Unique Guest…..or MOB…..or Maid

The folded gros grain band, in every colour from hot pink to blackest black.

One of the most lovely lace-look fascinators I have ever seen – would transform any simple shift dress into total catwalk territory.

Oversize felt perfection in the softest shade of pale grey.

Um and is there anything sexier than a trilby? Yup. A leopard print trilby with FEATHERS.

The Pedal Disc with veil. So very French. So very fancy.

Ok ok so I know this is a bit erm….. vertical? but I heart it. Really I do.

Go check out www.williamchambers.co.uk for plenty more of where that came from.

Big Hat Wearing Love

P.S I am having a bit of a “oh gorgeous” moment with the “bride” models fresh luminous skin/ pink lipped look, shall we have a go at re-creating it for you? Any excuse to play in the make-up bag…. ;-)

Oh my God. Having a complete moment over here. I have been looking for months for the perfect headwear to my multitude of weddings this summer and now the answer to my prayers has come shaped in an oversized bow and some rather arresting camelias…I don’t care if ‘m not the bride! I’m in!

    xx

The camelias and the double crystal band are just fabulous, I love them! And YES to recreating the look, I need to know how to how to do it! xxx

My Mum found some hats in Hostie hats from the bride in her words ‘with the fabulous marquee’.

  7. Rachael says:

The bride is really beautiful. I love the lip stick – if you could find that shade I would buy it in a flash.

The ‘MOB’ though… her top is a little… revealing!?!

  8. Linsey says:

Please please please have a go at the make up! Loving the lippy! (And the headwear too)

    Me again…

Ouch, just went over to the site to make a purchase as I have 3 weddings to attend but they are a little bit expensive.

Also difficult to part with cash when you can only see 1 picture.

Still gorgeous, but I think my bank account is safe for today.

I am so going for that make up loom for a wedding I have on saturday, wonder if I can recreate the hair…

Rachael I agree, don’t think I’ll be making a purchase but good for inspiration…if I was still a bride to be I might reconsider though! xxx

Oooo there’s a gorgeous ivory feather flower spray which would top my mum’s outfit off a treat…. don’t think she’ll part with 150 pounds for it though!!

Love this type of post though – great for MOB, MOG, Bride, guests, Everyone!!!

  12. The bridal pieces start from £95 and go up to £250, cheaper than some veil/tiara’s I have seen but yes they are quite expensive.

The MOB/other pieces are similar and I guess it’s all according as to whether you view it as an investment, I price everything I buy on price per wear rather than the inital outlay….that’s what I tell myself/my Husband anyway!!

Also it’s how you view accessories – I often buy a fairly cheap dress from the high street and pair it with something fabulous and perhaps not so kind to the purse strings.

Two summers ago I wore a dress that was £9 off of ebay to 4 different weddings. I wore it with a more expensive turquoise Cardi ( still only £40 from Oasis) and some cheap office flats but…..teamed the oufit with reasonably expensive statement jewellery. I’ve worn the jewellery a zillion times since too.

I love this stuff – I bought my hairpiece for my wedding from Rachel Trevor-Morgan and it’s costing about £150, but I’m having a gorgeous flower, a bow and a birdcage veil, but they’ll all be seperate so I can wear them again and again!! (well, maybe not the veil, but deffo the flower & bow!!).

    Charlotte, PLEASE re-create the make-up – it’s the perfect look I want!

  14. God, this stuff is gorgeous… and I completely agree on the cost per wear thing.

    I really want some now….. :)

    xoxo

This has now totally tipped me over the edge into complete determination to have something awesome on my head come W-day. I’ve always been a hat person (and am seriously tempted by that trilby!), I forsee some serious internet trawling coming on…

  16. axm237 says:

I love the first brides head pieces! Also love love love the make up, but it probably helps that she is absolutely beautiful and would look amazing with no make up anyway!!! Please recreate it though! x x x

  17. Shayna says:

Those are incredible! What a great feature!

  18. Anna K says:

Hehe axm you’re totally right…she’d look good in a bin bag! The only colour I have even close to that is Illamasqua in Corrupt. But it’s a bit too dark. Bring on the RMW magic make-up fairy to find the right shade!

  19. Natalie says:

Oooh i think Mac’s “chatterbox” could be a good match for this.. I do love a bubblegum pink !

  20. SamanthaJ says:

Fab, fab post! I have never been inspired by any head wear… until now!!

Have also sent the link to many friends, just hope we don’t turn up at the same wedding!!

  21. Anna Mac says:

Love the post, thank you for sharing!

I have to add to the comments above, this guy makes all his pieces by hand! They are not mass produced. This is what I like about his headwear! I would defiantly pay for his work because it’s beautiful and some thought has gone into them, unlike all the rubbish on the high street etc!
