When I spotted this “Trash the Dress” shoot in Regents Park by the extremely talented and unique photographer Aneta Mak I was very VERY excited.

Parasols, balloons, theatrical make-up, knock-em-dead dresses and a candy colour palette to boot? I mean really what more could you ask for….

I am in love.

These images are all about fun, fashion and fabulousness and Rock My Wedding hope you enjoy them as much as we have.

Nancy the beautiful bride behind the images sent us a little piece on the shoots and her idea’s behind the styling:

The shoot I did with Aneta was fabulous. I have a lot of experience with modelling, and my “Trash the dress” shoot was the most memorable to date. I had worked with Aneta prior to this shoot, so I already had a good idea of the type of photography I wanted. It is always a pleasure  to work with her and she is great at both giving and receiving  direction. I wanted the photos to appear youthful and fresh which is why I chose to go slightly outlandish with the hair and make up.

The  dress in the shoot ended up being a panto costume that I purchased  from ebay, which was incredibly fun and playful to shoot in. I asked my friend Jodie to accompany me as I knew she would be more than comfortable to model with me and deliver. All in all, it was an amazing day and I will cherish these photos for a long time.

Aneta did a wonderful job!

Nancy actually decided to do her “Trash the Dress” shoot before the wedding ( well why the hell not?) and together with Aneta Mak decided on all of the quirky and pretty props. The dress won’t be what Nancy wears on the Big Day but I think it’s pretty darn cool, and why not experiment with a whole lot of different looks – especially if you can find a gown this gorgeous on ebay!

This is just gorgeous – like a magazine fashion shoot!

This looks like so much fun. I’m not sure I could get away with that kind of make-up but it does look cool. It makes me kind of want to play dressing up!

  3. I just want to say, I think the fun factor here is fantastic and something I hope we inspire more people to bring to their wedding photography. And what a great way to have fun if you are planning a more traditional day, by doing it before or after!

    Great job Aneta!

    Xoxo

PS I imagine any photographers reading this would love to mix things up a bit with a shoot like this one…?

Love it! I’m all for ‘fun’ over ‘formal’ pictures.

Lovely photos but I’m not sure I see the point of wearing a dress that you’re not actually wearing on your wedding day…love the photography style though. xxx

    I want those Converse!

I love this idea and I am super excited to see pictures from your “trash the dress” shoot one day Charlotte and Rebecca! :)

Alex I know what you mean…I feel really ridiculous for thinking it (and not to take away from Nancy who looks FABULOUS) but is there a point to a trash the dress shoot if it’s not your actual wedding dress, or is it done just for the hell of it for some cracking photos? Which I totally get. Although, who needs a point when you look this good?!? (Nancy you have unbelievable collarbones…)

Glad you are liking the cool pics ladies!

I never thought about a trash the dress type thing until recently and now I don’t have my wedding gown – I’ve sold it….

So I too will just be playing general dress up in a whole host of outfits I like – just for the hell of it :)

Charlotte, can I ask, where did you sell your wedding dress? I am thinking about selling mine but not sure what site is best. Sorry to change the subject! xxx

I can’t wait to see what Charlotte and Rebecca do! I’ve been looking at Cherish the Dress shoots recently and there are some amazing options out there, not to mention locations. Plus, I really want an excuse to wear my dress again (sad I know)!
