Inspiration

SO. MANY. Kisses. I know this is a wedding, and that's what you'd expect, but this rustic, intimate big day just seems to have even more kisses than usual. You'll see what I mean when you look through the images...the Groom, the Grandpas, the dogs...everyone is feeling the love!!! Bride Jade is such a stunner, as soon as I saw her gorgeous tousled blonde locks and her fishtail gown she reminded me of a mermaid - and I'm clearly not the only one, as the couple had a mermaid cake topper sitting alongside a miniature flat cap wearing Josh on their cheese tower! Jade & Josh held their ceremony at Eden at Broughton Hall, the perfect place for their outdoor ceremony, surrounded by rolling countryside and with a bonfire for marshmallow toasting and post wedding cuddles under the stars. And we love that even though they had a 'small' wedding, they still went to town with pretty decor and details. Including a stunning floral arch and fun personalised jam jars for cocktails.
Rustic Wedding Decor Ideas Jade The Bride: I have nearly crashed my car every time I have driven past Ava Rose Hamilton with their spectacular wedding gown window displays. So when the moment came to chose my gown it had to come from there! Bernie looked after me from the moment I picked the dress to every visit thereafter, always with a friendly face and she was very supportive through the time of “crap is this the right dress?!?” during my final fitting which apparently 90% of brides-zillas do! I would recommend them to anybody :)

The Venue

We chose Eden at Broughton Hall because it was in the middle of nowhere with the most tranquil views and relaxing presence we only wanted a very small wedding and wanted it to be as relaxed as possible and with Eden sleeping 12 people we were able to relax and chill with our nearest and dearest before the big day which really did make a huge difference no racing around or panicking. We spent the Friday night pampering and chilling in the hot tub which is situated outside next to a bonfire then come Saturday we had our ceremony on the lawn outside and enjoyed our dinner inside the dining room, to then move back outside to enjoy dancing to the band under the stars, we lit the bon fire at about 8pm which set a nice ambiance for the evening and once the band had finished we all moved over to the bonfire sitting round it until the early hours talking about what a fantastic day we had all just shared. It was the perfect venue for us!!!

The Flowers

Lynne at Stems Design Brighouse (07973786570) was our florist and it was mainly down to her that the room into my dream venue ended up looking exactly how I had wanted. Leading up to the day I was worried about the room decor and presentation, being a slight perfectionist - it did worry me especially when I had very specific image in my head. Lynne over exceeded my expectations and stunned me with how fantastic and talented she is.

The Cake

I had a cheesecake which was supplied by Lawson’s Cheese’s Skipton. We chose to have a cheesecake because Josh and I just love cheese and knew we could spend our honeymoon eating cheese and drinking red wine with the left over’s.

The Bridesmaids

I got my bridesmaid dresses from a newly opened shop in Ikley called Bridesmaids & Co. The staff were lovely and made it special for me and my Bridesmaids with private one on ones with champagne and treats.

The Stationery

DM Print in Keighley did my wedding stationery offering a large range of printed personalised cards to be personal to each one of my guests which was a must due to my terrible hand writing! It was spectacular with my thank you cards because I was able to drop in a five pictures on each card of the people who I was sending the thank you to so they could have a sneaky peak at some of the gorgeous pictures of them enjoying our special day.

The Entertainment

With only having a small wedding of 54 guests, I did have reservations whether a band would work and would it be that awkward moment where no one is dancing and the poor band is performing to an empty dance floor. The Festival Nights were fantastic at getting everyone up dancing with their choice of songs and upbeat performance. The magical thing about The Festival Nights were that they had learnt a song especially for our wedding to perform as our first dance, (the same song which I walked down the aisle to) and just the most special song to me and Josh.

The Photography & Videography

Mark and Lewis – well what can I say apart from I booked these two guys separately and you would have thought they came as a package. The way that they worked together was just amazing and as individuals I would recommend them to anybody. They have captured our most special day in such a special way that every time I look at their work I can re-live our day which is exactly what you want! They made us laugh and smile and were such friendly, sound people, where ever we were, they were, making sure they did not miss a thing. Thank you so much you two you really were both a breath a fresh air.

The DIY

I had done all my favours myself filling jars with chilli jam for the boys with a sticker saying “Jam packed with love from Josh & Jade” then salted caramel for the girls with a sticker saying “love is sweet here's a treat, love from Josh & Jade” I then decorated the jars with rustic hessian and twine which held a little key charm and a card heart saying thank you. Going with the theme of rustic barn style all my name tags and table numbers had a similar theme. Because I had limited room in the dining room I had the idea to use a twig tree as my table plan which would later transform into a wishing tree for people to leave hang there well wishes and messages on. My other DIY was my reception drinks – I decorated 100 jars with hessian and twine which I hung with wooden charms decorated with different quotes, which were a lovely touch for my guests to drink from and I also made some personalised straw flags which I attached to some cool rustic stripy straws which went very well with the rustic jars. In each toilet I had provided baskets with all necessities in such as chewing gum, deodorant, sun cream, perfume. I also put flip flops for the ladies next to the dance floor which I had decorated with silk ribbons and pear hearts. One thing that I would of added for the ladies would have been heel clips which you get for the races to stop your heels going through the grass with us celebrating the majority of the day on the grass - something for future brides to think of when celebrating outside!
