Inspiration

I love featuring Australian weddings because the decor is always on point, the fashion is always fabulous and the vibe of the day is always completely chilled. The only draw back is if you fall for the photographers style and then realise that you'd have to fly them across the world to capture your big day. Well - worry not, as the super talented photographers who sent us Jessica & Kelvin's outdoor wedding are relocating to the UK in just a matter of weeks and are available for dates THIS SUMMER!!! Through The Woods We Ran have the gorgeous, relaxed and natural style that we love (the wedding party and couple shots are particularly stunning here) and we can't wait for them to bring their style to the British wedding industry. If you're currently planning a wedding on a very short time frame, give Through The Woods We Ran a shout, as it's not often that amazing photographers like this have summer availability for the current year. And enjoy this wedding lovely ones, it's full of gorgeous details, Australian sunshine and happy, happy people.

Our Wedding

We wanted our wedding to be a joyful celebration. We wanted everyone to feel at home like one big family. Rustic and relaxed was our theme set in our local nature reserve.

The Bride

Jessica the Bride: When purchasing my dress the one thing I knew was I didn't want a typical white strapless gown. I ended up with quite the opposite, an A-line caramel Mori Lee gown by Madeline Gardner.

The Groom

Kelvin the Groom: I had been waiting quite some time to find the right suit. With 2 weeks to go I was wondering through Perth city and walked into Topshop. It was here I found the one. It was the right texture, right fit and after sending Jess some photos and getting her approval I was all set.

The Bridesmaids

I wanted the Bridesmaid dresses to compliment the beautiful Australian Native flowers we had chosen. The deep burgundy red colour was perfect. Our wedding party was a full one with a maid of honour, best man, four bridesmaids and four groomsmen. We are blessed with amazing family and friends and these guys just made our day all the more special.

The Venue

We searched high and low for our perfect ceremony venue only to find it right under our nose. In the back streets where I learnt to drive we found Marlee Reserve, a perfect place for a relaxed ceremony. For the reception what better place to make everyone feel like home than home.

The Decor & Styling

We did a lot of our decorating ourselves. Kelvin worked away with his projects all the way up to the day before making our ceremony arch, doorway entry, dance floor, guest board and even the DJ’s table. Yes, he is amazing. We set up for the big day the day before with help from our stupendous bridal party.

The Flowers

I had my mind set on Australian native flowers and I had the most wonderful friend, Jess, who turned it into my dream wedding flowers. I love the deep, rich and raw colour that these marvellous flowers obtain.

The Photography

Through The Woods We Ran. They were the only thing I knew I wanted to have at the wedding. It was three years ago when I first came across this amazing duo, it truly was love at first sight. Wouldn’t have had anyone else, they captured all the little details and even the things we didn't notice on the day.
