Inspiration

We've got possibly the most perfect wedding for you to finish the week on this morning. Honestly folks it's a corker from List member Tub Of Jelly Photography who incidentally also doubled up as the videographer for Katie and Pete when they married at The Dead Dolls Club in London last year. Katie wore a super glitzy, gold and silver sequin frock for her big day and totally OWNED it. She paired it up with a beautiful floral crown and a bevy of maids in white. Hubby Pete scrubbed up well too with a navy suit from Reiss accompanied by the rest of his boys in blue against a backdrop of confetti filled balloons and the sweetest flower girls and page boys. If you've got a few spare minutes then I implore you to watch the video of this achingly hip duo because it totally captures the essence of the day and is as Katie says for them at least 'by miles the most valuable part of the wedding (spends) especially in this digital age'.
Katie The Bride: When we were 11, Pete was my next door neighbour's (brutha from another mutha) best friend from school and I instantly wanted to hold his hand. We went our separate way for ten years, met as adults, and became engaged 6 months later! We were just 22. We got engaged after 6 months and everyone thought we were nuts. Many said they thought 'in this day and age this is madness, career driven London Town both in your prime - living in a nation ravaged by divorce, you guys are crey crey, you don't even know each other,'....but a good friend brought our attention to this quote. 'Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing the impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under; it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all the teachers and philosophers who really counted and who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it's a feather bed.' -TMcKenna Keeping this in our hearts and heads has served us well so far especially when our little boy who is now three arrived...what a wonderful blessing he is.

The Venue

The venue was amazing. We married at The Dolls House and The WHOLE PACKAGE that they laid on was epic. Check On catered the whole wedding and instead of a cake we had our guests do a cake off. Our favourite part of the wedding was... all of it, including running round Hoxton Square like sillies. The only thing we would have done differently would be that we wished we had remembered to pull out the glitter canons!!!! We're gutted we forgot those!

Entertainment

We were entertained by artisan ice sculptures from PSD Ice and a photo booth provided by Paul Rowland.

Photography and Videography

WOW. JUST WOW. Elizabeth from Tub of Jelly is so talented, so wonderfully professional and so creative; a real artist and wonderful people person. She is magic and will make your day magic. The feedback I've had from guests and the wider network on social media is that the video was really the cherry on the cake when it comes to output from the big day. It was very unique and the way Betty shot it was so unique and different than most wedding reels. In fact - people at work and some global brands have been interested in using the style and mood of the video after seeing it. ALOT of my friends don't know if they should pay the extra for wedding video and more often or not they say no when actually I think it is the most important piece of content from the day. Out of all the spends we made - the video was by miles the most valuable especially in this digital age. This snapshot style collection of memories is invaluable especially in the world we live in.
