Inspiration

Happy Easter lovely readers, we hope you're enjoying the four day weekend. We've got a gorgeous classic white wedding to share with you all today and it's just brimming with fabulous details to swoon over. There's no chocolate eggs, but there IS a delicious dessert table to satisfy your sweet tooth, which includes the prettiest personalised biscuits I've seen many a time on Pinterest, but never in 'real life.' And talking of food, look out for the gorgeously presented canapés too - today's caters Jacaranda are on our List recommended supplier directory, and it's great to see their work in action. As well as the food, the decor is fab too - the floral arch in the church is simply stunning and makes an incredible back drop for that first kiss as husband and wife. And the chalkboard signs, hand drawn by a friend of the couple, look really effective too.

The Bride

My Mum bought my wedding dress and we had so much fun trying on lot of gorgeous gowns. We found the perfect one from Essence of Australia and bought it in Angelica Bridal in Camden. I found I hated all ‘Wedding’ shoes, so I found these lovely L.K. Bennett beauties that I will definitely wear again. I wore a veil just for the ceremony (it meant a lot to my Mum) so I also wore a headband that was £24 from Debenhams (Jon Richard) so there was something special there when the veil was removed.

The Groom & Groomsmen

The groom and his many groomsmen wore traditional 3 piece morning suits. We always knew we wanted quite a traditional feel to our wedding. However, to add something fun and different to the outfits, we bought quirky ties from Reefknots - and they also doubled up as presents for all the boys!

The Venue

We got married in a church that has a really special meaning to my family. My parents got married there, my grandparents and their parents before them. It was incredible to tie the knot somewhere that I know so well – and that is so pretty! We fell in love with the reception venue, Ramster Hall, the first time we saw it, the winding drive, beautiful gardens and stunning long hall. We thought it complimented our traditional church and wedding attire perfectly.

The Decor

Ramster Hall is so beautiful that we didn’t really have to do anything in terms of decoration. We knew we wanted blackboards, as a feature on the day and our wonderful friend Kate Bellamy is an illustrator and kindly designed and drew them all for us. I think they were a great touch and now we have them up in our house! We couldn’t resist light up letters by Doris Loves and they made for great photos on the day. My Mum continued the blackboard theme and made photos boards of both Rich and I through the years and we also set up a Polaroid camera so people could take pics and put them in the guestbook.

The Flowers

Our flowers were done by Michelle Rust and were absolutely incredible. She did the amazing floral arch in the church as well. I know nothing about flowers and she was so helpful, we were over the moon with them.

The Ceremony

We had lovely readings by my sister, Rich’s dad and our great friend Liz, it meant so much to have people close to us read out words of love on the day. Rich used a string quartet to propose called Occasional Strings (they even learnt my favourite song, bump n grind) and we were so glad to have them on our wedding day too. We love live music so we also had a band called ‘The Duplicators’ in the evening. For the in between parts, we are quite fussy about music so created a Spotifiy playlist (you can merge the songs so there aren’t any awkward gaps) we love listening to it now!

The Food

Jacaranda did our catering and we can’t recommend them highly enough - we got so many compliments about the food! My school friend Sarah Patten runs her own baking business called Drink Gin and Bake and she made the most outrageous dessert table ever! We love sweet things and so as well as a cake, we had cookies, cupcakes and marshmallows.

The Photography

Our photographer Matt Penberthy captured our day perfectly. I couldn’t recommend him and his lovely wife Alexa more, they made us feel so at ease and the photos are the best reminder of our special day.

The Videography

A work friend of mine set up Shoot It Yourself and it’s such a great idea that we used them on our day. Our friends filmed our wedding, which meant it was much more relaxed and the finished video is being completed as we speak! We can’t wait to see it!
