Now I am a big of cake. Especially chocolate cake and Carrot cake. And Victoria sandwich and Lemon drizzle. And those banana cakes you get in Pret a Manger ….and Um all kinds of cupcakes.
Just REALLY love cake.
Question is – what about if you don’t?
What about if the thought of spending a small fortune on a 3 tier W-day extravaganza brings you out in a cold sweat…. or just the thought of anything with sponge and buttercream leaves you well…..bored.
How about a tiered “cheese” cake then? Hmmmm probably seen a few of those already right?
Well how about ( just like the fabulous WINTER WEDDING we featured last week) you have a whole help-yourself-to-deliciousness cheese table. Much like the very popular “dessert” or “sweet” tables we see popping up all over the place. Just instead you swap the sugary stuff for a whole bunch of different varieties of the savory dairy delights….
Simples.
And true to form Rock My Wedding has found some total eye candy perfection for all you fromage lovers over on the BEAUTIFUL Sunday Suppers blog. Seriously if I went to a wedding and they had something like this on offer I would be majorly impressed.
And headed straight for the Wensleydale with cranberries.

Who thought cheese could look so darn pretty?
And not so difficult to achieve I might add. Source cake/cheeses stands from any tableware hire shops ( I actually found a great similar plain white one at Sainsburys for a fiver), chose your varieties of cheese to suit you from the supermarket or your local farmers market and make cute signs until your hearts content.
On this particular Sunday Suppers number they used pieces of fruit to decorate – I am totally loving the pears and cherries. You could use pretty much anything you fancied too from some exotic kiwi and star fruit to the more traditional red and green grapes.
We’re all about taking a great idea and then stamping your unique style all over it…. as you know.

Maybe you don’t fancy a whole go-to table and instead would prefer individual cheese plates for your guests. Well Sunday Suppers have that covered too. I’m thinking especially fabulous on long tressle tables for your tent/tipi/marquee. Adore the table runners and the personalised cheese menu’s…..

Boy am I a sucker for a white tulip.
Simple. Chic. Gorgeous.
As is the entire Sunday Suppers Blog. It is my new “lose yourself within” piece of interweb heaven.
Anyone forgoing cake for something a little bit different?
Do let us know.
Big oh-so-savoury Love

The cheese looks so pretty love how they have laid it out. We are having cake and lots of it but we may have to have a cheese area as well for all my cheese loving friends (and me) oh the hard ship! xx
YEY a cheese blog! We’re huge cheese fans so there was no contest when it came to deciding what we wanted for our wedding cake; cheese without a doubt. All we have to do now is decide on four yummy layers so I’m booking a cheese tasting afternoon (my idea of heaven) for later in the year. I can’t wait!
It’s also handy as along with lots of bread, chutneys, fruit & celery sticks etc, it doubles as our evening buffet so is cost effective.
Conscious that some people would prefer some traditional cake to munch on however, my auntie has kindly offered to make a number of different cakes so these will also be laid out with the cheese buffet for people to have something to satisfy their sweet tooth as well.
Mmmm, cheese! xx
Oh Cheese. I would be in heaven if that were on the menu at a wedding!
AJS – how does cheese compare price wise to a wedding cake?
absolutely fabulous… making me hungry…. and i ADORE the photography… xxx
Hi H – I’m afraid I dont know really as I have no idea what a wedding cake costs as I knew from the start I didn’t want one…I guess what I meant when I said it was cost effective is that the cost of the ‘cheese’ cake & biscuits, grapes etc is less than what we’d have had to spend if we bought a cake and were providing on a more traditional evening buffet option on top of the wedding cake. This way we get our wedding cake and evening food cost rolled in to one.
For four layers of cheese to feed 90-100 people and all the ‘trimmings’ to serve with them we’re looking at £500.
Hope that makes sense and helps!! x
LOVE this idea! Who doesn’t like cheese? Yum
That cheese looks amazing! We are having a “cheese station” in the evening – hope it looks this pretty! xx
mmmm cheeeeeese.
If you had to give up one, which would it be: Cheese or Chocolate?
oooh love this shoot
