Quite unintentionally this weeks weddings have been particularly pale and interesting. And to mix it up a bit (because more than anything we know you lovelies like variety) we’re throwing some full on colour pop cool into Friday.
Faye and Dave’s London W-day is simply divine, eye-catching blooms, unique fashion choices and a whole rainbow of love, laughter and fun.
All of the gorgeous images are courtesy of Especially Amy.

Big Love In Little Venice
Our wedding was in April 2011. The Ceremony was held at the Marylebone Registry Office, with the reception party at the Amadeus Centre in Little Venice, London. This venue is a renovated 19th century Welsh Presbyterian chapel which is now run by a charity. You can do so much in there and they are the lovelist people, so accommodating.

5th Time Lucky
My dress was the 5th one I tried on and as I wasn’t really looking for a typical ‘wedding’ dress and when I put this on I suprised myself as I knew instantly this was THE DRESS. I loved the detail, it’s so delicate and pretty, and I loved the shape, 50’s in style but with a modern cut. The dress is called ‘Fiesole’ and designed by an American bridal company called Pricilla of Boston and the only retailer in the UK is Angelica Bridal in Islington – so it was fate that it was the only bridal shop I went to.

Reclaimed Vintage
I decided against a veil – I was getting married in a registry office so didn’t feel comfortable, but I did want something special in my hair so I found a designer of bridal headpieces called Gillian Million and she made the most amazing head band using reclaimed vintage costume jewelery.

A Love Story On South Molten Street
I went for Electric Blue Suede shoes. fell in love with them walking past the window of Author on South Molten Street and knew that they were the ones. I had them 6 months before the wedding!

Feeling Special
Amy from Percy and Reed did my hair and was the sweetest girl to have around in the preparation. As I didn’t want to end up looking like a different person when walking ‘down the aisle’ we decided to keep my hair down and just give it some height. I had amazing makeup artist called Lucy Gibson do my my make up, and my mother and sisters too, so we all felt rather special!

Bright And Clashing
I decided early that I couldn’t choose a ‘theme’ or colour so opted to have all colours, so with the flowers I wanted bright and clashing native spring blooms. The bouquet, posy and button holes were made by Tim at Birksen who did an amazing job. we decided to save money and do the venue flowers ourselves – buying directly from Covent Garden flower market the morning before the wedding and my mother and oldest friend arranged all the small vases that made up the table decorations. It was really special actually to know that they were personal to us.

Dressed To Impress
my maid of honor was my sister and she wore a dress from Anthropologies bridal collection – BHLDN, beautiful but we did have to get it shipped over from the US! My gorgeous flower girl’s dress was handmade by her granny! Dave wore a dark navy Costume National suit and looked incredible in it.

Blending In Perfectly
The lovely Amy Murrell took our photos and did a better job than I could ever have hoped for. I found her website via a recommendation and on seeing the beautiful, natural, candid moments she caught I knew she was the perfect person for us. the best confirmation that I’d made the right choice was that our friends and family assumed she was my friend, as she slipped seamlessly into the picture.

Super Sounds Of The 70′s
God only knows walked me down the isle, and ‘Mr Blue Skies’ and ‘Baker Street’ played as we signed the marriage register. I was so excited to hear the music – songs that we love, that it made me want to dance right there in the registery office! ‘For Once In My Life’ was the first dance – just because.
After dinner we had a swing band start the dancing off – which was perfect as the ‘grown ups’ at the event got to have a proper dance. Then we upped the game and had the funky ‘Loose Cannons’ DJ for us.

Sugar Hit
Our amazing caterers Food Events made the cake on request from us. we had a tiered victoria sponge wedding cake!
I wasn’t going to do favours – but my mum went and made chocolate truffels and chocolate mini cupcakes and wrapped them up in clear plastic and ribbons and i’m so glad she did as by the time the guest left they really needed a sugar hit to get them home.

All The Colours Of The Rainbow
I didn’t want too much in the way of decor, subtle was the key – so I wrapped the poles in the room with thin ribbons in all the colours of the rainbow, and flooded the room with candles. we had a pea light canope and a few coloured lights and that was it, apart from a custom made LOVE sign to fill an empty wall – which my brother designed and made for us.

Make It Last
Walk slowly down the isle – whether in a registry office or church. It’s the best bit of advice I got – and I’m so pleased that I can remember all the smiles of my friends.
