Magnificent Maggie

We do tend to indulge ourselves somewhat over here at Rock My Wedding by posting some stunning bridal creations which might be guilty of having a price tag to match. And that’s just not what we are about. The whole point of Rock My Wedding is to share unique and chic ideas whatever your budget and inspire you to Rock your wedding, whatever that means for you.

So we want to cover some of the more affordable options in Bridal wear. The economy is tough, you might be saving for a house or to start a family, or even just not feel like spending ££££’s on a dress for one day – I know I didn’t! And whilst I can’t guarantee the gowns shown below will be the most budget friendly you can find, I can make sure that you don’t compromise on style whilst keeping to budget. We are going to kick-off with one of the most popular mid-range bridal gown designers of all time, the mega successful Maggie Sottero. And there’s got to be a reason for that, right? I’ve lost count of the Brides I have seen choosing her designs for their fit, style and purse friendly price so read on for my selection of the prettiest, most glamourous and downright gorgeous gowns Maggie has to offer…

Bridal Beauties

Maggie4
Carrie and Paisley, dreamy details aplenty between them, whether it be the fashion forward bubble hem or voluptuous folds. Luxe duchess satin makes these gowns look rich and velvety and good enough to eat.

The White Stuff

I almost fell over when I saw Gabrielle, a very similar dress to a gorgeous design by a certain Ms. Wang. Fashion forward stripes compare with this all out princess gown, Rachael, made bang on trend with a fifties nod from the natural waistline detail.

Glamazons

Maggie5
Melanie and Dayle, two gowns to literally scream glamour and show off an hourglass figure. I’m imagining these at an evening or Black tie Winter city wedding…

Pretty as a Picture

Finishing with a bit of romance these soft and feminine floral themes gowns, Natalie and Anniston would be perfect for a summer semi-traditional wedding and could be styled for so many types of day. Shabby chic or vintage details would compliment them perfectly… Strawberries and Cream anybody?

She really has got it all covered. And if you’re a fan of the corset back (who isn’t after stuffing yourself with wedding breakfast yummies?) this is Maggie’s trademark, with the vast majority sporting the sexy rear view detail.

One of the other most enticing things about falling for a Maggie Sottero gown is that with her popularity you won’t have to go far to find it. I know that would have been an attractive proposition when I was a-gown hunting. And don’t make the assumption that means everyone will be wearing your dress this Summer, with hundreds of styles to choose from and lots of customizable options, Maggie ticks all the boxes.

One last thought. Think Maggie might be a bit boring for you? Done before? No originality? I hope the dresses I’ve posted above will challenge those preconceptions but if not how about this…

It’s not the dress… it’s the way you wear it :)
(Last 2 images by the fabulous Segerius-Bruce Photography and are of non-other than the lovely Kat over at Rock’n'Roll Bride)

So pick a dress, any dress, but make it your dress and wear it your way.

Yours Truly,

Contra

My fav out of these is def Gabrielle!! I think it is very Miss Wang esk!!

I also like Rachael but I am so tiny that it would make me look like a cup cake!

    Some nice designs though!

    Sx

Love Anniston very elegant. I am a bride on a budget and thought I would never find a dress that I liked and could afford. I was very happy to find a Benjamin Roberts dress that was a sample and therefore cost me half the price I will need to get it altered but it still works in my budget. And as you said perfectly it’s not the dress it’s the way you wear it…… more budget inspirations pretty please :-)

I’m a Maggie girl! Well I will be once I’ve chosen which gown in January! Having lusted after practically all of her gowns on the web I was so so pleased to find that actually her designs are the ones that flatter my figure most – phew! I’m about 5’3″ with big boobs I was so worried before, but not anymore! I loooooooooved the look of Anniston, but sadly it doesn’t suit, and Rachael ( I really wanted it to look nice as it would have been awesome to wear a dress that had my name!) was the same. Both gorgeous though. After my first dress hunting experience (which ROCKED) I am torn between a few – Hunter, Summer and Melissa Brooch. I think I’m leaning towards Hunter – it’s just so damn gorgeous and WOWOWOW the shape it gave me! so pleased that it was purse friendly too, I had budgeted for around £1200 and it comes in at around £400 squids cheaper, meaning that if I do go with Hunter, I can splurge on some amazing statement earrings to go with it.

    I heart Maggie!! xxxx

    Hi girls,

On the topic of “make it your dress and wear it your way”, I am wearing a vintage dress that I luckily found on ebay (of all places)!! It’s totally lace (no labels but we think its 30′s) and I’m having a dressmaker make me a fantastic layer to go underneath which has floaty sleeves and a sash to go around my waist.

We’re having a quirky vintage style wedding with Afternoon Tea and mismatched vintage china that we’ve been collecting – I can’t wait!! We’re also having Jordan from Source Images as our photographer which we’re really excited about :)

Roll on the 1st of May, and if I’m lucky enough perhaps our day will make it onto RMW!! :)

    Love,
    Amy xx

  8. That shot on the right of Kat has been featured on the Maggie site! So cool.

So glad that this has been popular and that the budget (ish) option is something you guys want to hear more about – we will certainly do our best.

Amy – You should definitely keep your eyes peeled tomorrow for some inspiration on that front, wink wink! Your look sounds amazing!

Interestingly Natalie and Anniston are what I thought I was looking for when I first went dress shopping, Rachel is like what I ended up with, and Gabrielle or Paisley are what I fancy now. Might not feel the same tomorrow!

    xoxo
