Make Mine a JP Please.

Upon getting engaged and purchasing the first ( of many) bridal magazines the designer that really made me literally gasp in a “ohmygodthatissodarngorgeous” type of way was Jenny Packham.

Right from when I flipped those glossy pages and came across the divine fairytale inspired advertising campaign JP’s “Eloise” was gonna be MY dress.

So I hot-footed it to the JP boutique in Belgravia and let me tell you – it didn’t disappoint, layers of soft floaty tulle, a feminine silhouette and an array of twinkly elegant embellishments.

Couldn’t wait to try it on.

And good lordy was the shop itself to die for……complete with an absolutely enchanting garden out back for you to see yourself in daylight.

Perfect.

Erm No.

Didn’t suit me at all.

Gutted would have been an understatement.

But do you know what? it really doesn’t matter – I still think Madam Packham designs some of the most unique and contemporary gowns on the bridal market today and that’s why I wanted to do a little post on her most recent collection – Autumn/Winter 2009 ( S/S 2010 coming soon – we’ll blog it as soon as its out)

The Big

JP-The-Big

The “Lucetta” and The “Duchess”

The Short

The “Cherish” and The “Tatini”

The Slinky

The “Allegra” and The “Amelia”

The Downright Sexy As Hell

The “Cameo” and The “Hollywood”

Oh just lovely lovely – all of them.

And coming up very soon we have an oh so pretty wedding with a bride who totally rocked that Eloise dress ;-)

If you too are planning on a fantabulous JP number do let us know, the whole RMW team are BIG fans.

Big Slinky Sexy Love

    WOW loving her new collection.

Only 282 days until I get to wear mine!

Not that I’m counting or anything ……

Keep up the good work girls!

I LOVE JP but only being 5ft 1 with an hour glass figure I know her dresses just wont suit me. Ever since I saw the dress Denise van outen wore on her wedding day I have drooled over her dresses. Which is why it was so difficut when I went to try on Bridal gowns because if I was asked what I was looking for I would always picture one of JP dresses. I can but dream xxxx

Whoo hoo – that’s me! Very exciting! I’m loving the short designs too, especially Cameo, I’m a sucker for a feather!

Stunning, I heart JP with a passion and would quite happily sit and fondle her dresses all day long. I get to wear mine in about, ooh 200 days?!

I love Amelia and Lucetta and I’m sure I would have loved Cherish if they’d have used a model that wasn’t at risk of slipping down a grid.

  7. Alex says:

They are uber skinny aren’t they – tut tut JP…xXx

Loving the JP love ladies. I agree on the models being that side of too thin though – let’s see some girly curves for a change JP!

Hi, I’ll be wearing ‘Keira’ by Jenny Packham for my wedding in July next year. It cost an absolute fortune, considering we’re only having a small wedding, but the dress is certainly worth it. It compltely fits in with my boho style x x

p.s. Noticed another comment from a bride who’s 5ft 1, I’m only 5ft and JP dresses are definately wearable for us shorter brides!

I too will be wearing a Jenny Packham dress for my wedding in December. I have decided on “Alice”.

However, please please could you do an article on underwear for slinky dresses (ideally for dresses with a plunging neckline and back)!! I didnt realise how much of an issue it was going to be!

    Loving your work ladies!
