Inspiration

If I had a tulle Lazaro gown like bride Nilofar I would be twirling around in it ALL day. It's just layer upon layer of pure gorgeousness and she looks absolutely stunning in it. I love that she's brought a little bit of her heritage to her look too by covering her hands and feet in intricate henna designs. SO pretty. I have to say I'm also in a little bit of a frenzy over the gorgeous styling & flowers by Bo Boutique. Using the prettiest props from Helen Millot & Vintage Style Hire. The delicate blush pink hues mixed with deep berry tones & luxe gold details is just plain delicious. There isn't anything I don't like; from the fabulous vintage chest cake display to the lounge area photo booth and all adorned in the most beautiful blooms. I even spotted a baby pink pineapple! Nichola from Lemonade Pictures has captured everything perfectly. All the love, all the pretty and all the pink so come and enjoy.

The Dress

Nilofar The Bride: I knew I was going to have two dresses. I always wanted a red and gold Lehenga, Zafran worked with me to customise my outfit and I got exactly what I was looking for. For my Western wedding dress, I went with the gown I fell in love with on my first fitting, a gorgeous champagne Lazaro dress with delicate lace. I shopped around a lot of boutiques but kept coming back to this dress and knew it was the one. I wanted to keep the look simple so I went with swarovski earrings and paired the dress with Manolo Blahnik shoes.

The Grooms Fashion

Adam went with a tailored Navy Suit from Reiss. Adam is easy to shop for and he is a big fan of Reiss as most of his suits for work also come from there. They also provided all of his accessories for the wedding including a lovely textured pink tie and oxblood oxfords. As part of the tailoring Adam had our names and the date of our wedding embroidered into the lining of the suit to mark the occasion. For the evening Adam changed into a navy Sherwani set off with Gold cuffs.

Venue

The Venue was the grounds of Adam's Uncle's home in Stapleford. It was the perfect venue for an English Country Wedding with an Indian Twist, it's rolling green fields and picturesque lake were a beautiful backdrop to an unforgettable day.

Colour Scheme/Décor

Pink being my favourite colour, I knew it was going to be central for my theme. The style I wanted involved mixing both the English and Indian heritage of both myself and Adam. Blush Pink being the leading colour palette for various elements of the day as well as bringing in richer deeper tones to make the overall look a little more luxurious so we went with the decision to incorporate berry tones within the flowers and candles, paired with opulent gold cutlery, crockery and candlesticks.

Flowers

The bridal bouquet we went with was delicate in size and using statement blooms rather the more traditional "fussy" country garden style flowers to fit with the aesthetics of the dress. All the round tables were decorated with flowers in beautiful brass and gold urns. As a floral centrepiece we dressed the cake table with a bed of flowers that overflowed from the drawers and set it off with gold candlesticks and soft pink candles.

Wedding Favour

For our wedding favours we wanted it to tie into my Indian roots, we found a charity in Mumbai that makes candles in handmade clay pots to support Dalits. We also included a small message of thanks with each candle.

The Wedding Party Fashion

We found these amazing H&M dresses that looked fantastic on the girls and to match them we rented Ted Baker Suits for the boys. In the evening the girls changed into Indian Sarees and the boys into Indian Kurtas.

Ceremony

We did not want a religious ceremony but wanted to exchange vows. We had one of our close friends lead the ceremony and two of our friends give readings about the nature of love. The ceremony was held by the lake and we decorated the wooden gazebo with a curtain of flowers as the backdrop for our vows. The aisle was decorated with flowers leading to the gazebo.

Entertainment

We needed someone who would be versatile and could play a wide range of music, from the latest floor fillers to Bollywood Hits and Darren Veitch was the man for the job. From the first song to the last the dance floor was always heaving with guests.

Food

With the wedding being a mix of English and Indian cultures it was a no brainer that the food would be the national food of England, Curry. The choice of food proved to be a big hit with the wedding guests, the fantastic food was never ending and everyone ate their bodyweight in food. For our wedding cake we opted for a three tiered naked cake. Each tier was a different flavour.

Photographer

We had a clear vision of how we wanted our wedding photo's to look and that led us to choosing Nichola (Lemonade Pictures) to capture our big day. We felt a real connection with this talented photographer whose unique approach matched our desires to have a more spontaneous and naturally shot wedding. We love our photos!

Videographer

We chose Pretty in White to shoot our wedding, their approach to shooting the day like a movie (including an amazing short highlight video) brought a touch of Hollywood to the day.
