Oh So Pretty Pettibone

June 9th, 2010 by Charlotte@rockmywedding Leave a reply »

There was a LOT of love for “Mystere” in the prettiest dresses piece we posted a while back so I couldn’t just leave it at that folks….

Oh No.

I am going to have to share a whole lot more Madam Pettibone gorgeousness with you.

Born to artist parents Claire initially started her fashion journey in lingerie and after designing a wedding gown for a friend word spread of her astounding talent and unique design skills and a few years later her first bridal collection was launched in New York to rave reviews.

“A wedding gown has to be the most beautiful dress in a woman’s life, make her look and feel amazing, and capture her essence,” ( Claire Pettibone)

Yes indeedy.

That lady sure knows how to design a delicate and feminine frock.

So here we are lovelies, some pieces of immense pretty from the new 2010 Cherry Blossom collection:

From top: Cherry Blossom, Chrysanthemum, Haiku, Sakura and ( I am in love with it….) Orange blossom ( it’s the back – the beautiful back!)

From The Continuing Collection ( yep these beauties are here to stay and these are our absolute favourite four of the lot )

From top, Clara, Lalique, Forever and yep you guessed it…..Mystere.

If I was to get married again right now?

THIS is the dress I would wear.

Anyone wearing Pettibone for their Big Day? And how does your dress choice “capture your essence”?

We would love to know.

Big Mystere Love

From her new collection I love Sakura and I have to totally agree with you Mystere is an absolute stunner not only is the front of the dress devine with all the detailing but the back is bursting with prettiness but not in the sickly way that flower is amazing and reminds me of something Carrie Bradshaw would wear (yes I’m a huge fan) are these dresses mega mega bucks? xxx

This woman is my absolute designer idol. I even tried one on back in the day but, sob, all the detail just didn’t suit me. Stacey, the one I tried I think was about £1800, they start around 1.5k.

I’m sure Lalique doesn’t have to be restricted to a wedding…it’s too gorgeous to be confined to just one day!

I Love Clara! It’s amazing. The way is shows that models body off is totally sexy. But not at all slutty. I have no idea how it captures the essence though.

As I am a big fan of a slinky lacy number, I LOVE these dresses – my favourites are Cherry Blossom, Lalique and of course Mystere. Sadly my dress, although slinky and lacy, is about 1/6th the price of one of these beauties…

Oohhhh I love CP dresses, my one tiny regret from my wedding planning is that I didn’t try on some of her dresses, I booked an appointment but then found my dress. Don’t get me wrong I still love the dress I chose but these are just too gorgeous! Going to send the link to my friend now, she is on the dress hunt at the moment! xxx

Im wearing Claire Pettibone Cloisonne for my wedding in September and was increadibly lucky as I managed to find her in a sample sale, could never have afforded it otherwise. As someone who didn’t want a traditional wedding dress her designs were a dream come true for me but I had completely discounted them because of the price… I was so, so lucky to find the sample. Haven’t seen her for almost a year so looking forward to going for my first fitting in July. My friend recently tried on Cherry Blossom and the detail when you get up close is amazing.

So, so pretty! I am loving the back detail on some of the dresses!

Mystere is divine, I sooo wish I’d tried it on just to get it out of my system!
    xx

  9. Sooo beautiful. I’m in love with CP’s dresses, especially Lalique but sadly light years out of my price range. The details on these dresses are amazing and the quality just screams gorgeousness! Sigh

I’ve treated myself to a beautiful CP dress (Yolanda) for my wedding. I loved so many of them especially Mystere and Kristene but felt I’d be more comfortable in Yolanda as we’re having a small informal celebration plus it wasn’t too expensive. I’m planning to inject some glamour though for the evening by wearing a large corsage in my hair from VV Rouleaux , pretty much identical to the one on the back of Mystere. x

    Team Mystere!

I LOVE Claire Pettibone dresses, but unfortunately they don’t love me, I tried a couple on whilst wedding dress shopping and they just didn’t look right on me, as I’m only 5ft.

But they are just beautiful :)

I too am wearing Cloisonne, which I also got in a sample sale – and couldn’t have afforded otherwise. Lauren, I read your post and felt like I was reading my own words and thoughts … But I love Mystere and Haiky too and wish that I had tried them on … I am picking up my dress Thursday week. I have had a few disasters with the alterations, so, hopefully all will be well … Am taking the dress back with me for my wedding in Australia next March.

  14. Lauren says:

I NEED one of these dresses, they’re just so beautiful!

I am in LOVE with Orange Blossom, I tried it on in a Shop (here in the UK) its beautiful!! It was perfect for me . Alas, in the UK they are almost double the price in the USA so I am having to trail Wedding Dress shops for something more affordable. Definitely not going to be my Dream Wedding dress :o (
There arnt even Claire Pettibone Sample Sales in the United Kingdom…. sob
