There are so many ways to make your wedding your own….

Dreamy D.I.Y, personal touches, details that represent your relationship and time spent together – the list is endless.

What about the whole “colour scheme” issue though hmmmm?

Well I didn’t have one as such – just liked lots of different colours so threw them all together in a last minute haphazard fashion. And you know what? well….there’s nothing wrong with that either.

What actually occurred to Rebecca and I a few weeks ago is that there are a few hues that you just don’t really see in any weddings anymore and that’s a real shame, especially as we suspected ( and proved the theory right after a bit of tweeting) because they are seen as “passe” or “old fashioned”

Um Hello? how can a colour be seen as passe?! Any bl*ody colour can be current! it’s all about what you do with it and how you incorporate it into your day surely?

The shade we were referring to was in fact good old puff-sleeve-shiny-80′s-bridesmaid-favoured PEACH. We lurrrveee peach and we don’t see why it can’t be as desirable as lilac or pale blue or sage green or yellow or navy or purple or…..can you see where I’m going with this?

Yes lovelies you guessed right, next week on Rock My Wedding is PEACHES AND CREAM WEEK.

Just like Justin Trousersnake brought sexy back the RMW team are bringing the peachy dream back to Weddingville.

Think soft peach and blush pink, think warm peach with hints of bronze and gold, think the loveliest inspiration boards, the freshest make-up looks and the most delicious Big Days you have ever seen.

It’s gonna be gorgeous.

Big Fruity Love

  1. Aren’t we clever! I cant wait to see what you girlies can do with peach – I’m sure once its had a RMW wedding-over, its going to be popping up a lot more! x

I am so grateful for peaches and cream week. We’re planning on peaches & cream wedding, also with splash of compulsory pale yellow (favourite colour). Struggling to find bridesmaid dresses, mens ties, and decorations for the venue. I’m struggling to find inspiration/mood boards on the web. We’re getting married at The Ashes, Endon, Staffs and all brides seem to go for pale pink or simply cream tones. Venue cannot carry bold colours (Converted barns). Think I’m going to be the first to go peach there (fairly new wedding venue).
    Thanking you in advance!

Wow-wee. Shockingly with my 3-4 weddings a year I’ve never seen a peach colour scheme up close.

I would love to see a peach and hot orange scheme (no gerbera’s though). That would be smoking hot.

Love the ‘cream side of it too’

I’m chowing down a peach as we speak to celebrate! This will be useful to me as well as apricot/peach came up in my colour palette (yes I had my colours done, no I am not 60, yes it was great) and I have NO IDEA what to wear it with.

Big peach-is-super-flattering on warm Winters love

Loving all the graphics…. fantastic. How lovely to have a summery feel in this dank and miserable weather we’ve had this week.
Anna K – I’ve also had my colour’s ‘done’ (and don’t think it’s anything to do with being old at all…) alas no peaches or creams anywhere near my palette. I shall just have to eat them instead!
    Happy Bank Holiday Weekending x

  7. I would love to have heard the conversation that brought this feature about!
T’is a great idea though ladies and I’m sure you’ll have us all peachy keen by the end of it…see what I did there ;-)

  8. hmm… my pun wasn’t so clever after all. Its the title of the post.
    Damn it!

  9. Brideandchic says:

There’s been a lot of peach on the US wedding blogs recently and I think it’s about time too! And of course it’s still hot on the high street following it’s summer boom but moving into autumn winter teamed with black.. Perfect bridesmaid material too.
    Watching with interest!

I had a very bad experience with a stiff-satin-shiny-puff-sleeved-massive-bow-on-the-back 80′s bridesmaid dress in peach. The dress you are imagining right now? it was worse than that. A lot worse. And I was something of an ugly duckling too – skinny (to the point of looking ill at times), massive train track braces, terrible hair… you get the picture. It was bad. Baaaaaaaaaaad.
To be fair to the bride, it was in fact during the 80′s (possibly early 90′s), and I was about 11, but still the experience has left scars – not sure I have ever worn anything peach since then! However, if anyone can turn me around on peach shades, I am absolutely positive it’s the RMW team. I will be looking forward to some peachy perfection next week, and will let you know if I am converted!
    xx

  11. Am SO excited about this week – am already pencilling in this to be my favourite theme week yet. However please don’t show me toooo many lovely peachy things as the wedding is only two months away and I might not be able to get them all in time!

    Xx

ps Naomi – like what you did there ;-)

  12. Amanda says:

I went to a wedding last month who’s weddings colours were peach with hints of pastle greens and yellow with purple bridesmiad – absolutely gorgeous! Can’t wait to see what you do with the colour! X

  13. Frances says:

Whoop! We have pretty much chosen peach (I’m calling it ‘antique peach’ to try and dispell 80′s peach images from people’s minds!) so I am soooo excited about this weeks postings! x

  14. fleur says:

Ooh bring on the peach and cream RMW dream week ;-) Am super excited to see any gold, too. Purely for personal reasons…our wedding colour is a pale gold mixed with antique-y colours.
