Welcome back for Part 2 of this Purple themed country style wedding with a fresh and modern feel plus some gorgeous photography from Emily Quinton.

Emily Quinton photographed our wedding. We met Emily at the Wedding Show, NEC Birmingham. Her work is amazing – she photographed our best friends wedding and we fell in love with her photographs straight away and knew we had to go with her no matter what.

Pure Purple

We both wanted something a little different than just a fruit cake so we opted for a three tiered cake from the Funky Cake Co local to our venue – chocolate, carrot and fruit – it went down well with everyone. It was iced in pure white with purple ribbon and a beautiful brooch – very elegant!

Dancing and Decor…

The staff at Dodmoor House were brilliant in everyway. They helped make the venue look stunning. It didn’t exactly need much help though as the place is just lovely on it’s own but with the flowers and the beautiful weather everything looked beautiful.

We opted for our own music via ipod playlist for the ceremony and drinks/dinner reception but had a DJ in the evening. He played some ‘interesting’ songs but he certainly kept opur guests dancing until the very end.

We did not decide on our first dance song until about a week before the big day…we kept changing our minds constantly. However, as soon as we heard ‘You’re lovely to Me’ by Lucky Jim we knew it was the one!!!

Words of Wisdom

We both had in own minds what we wanted everything to look like but our advice would be to put your trust in those people who are helping to make your day so special. They are the professionals and they know what they’re doing. We were very lucky to have such lovely people who all made our day so perfect.

Thank you so much to Ben and Claire for letting us share their wedding day here on Rock my Wedding and also to Emily Quinton for providing us with all of the very pretty images.

Yours Truly,

Rebecca
xoxo

Gorgeous flowers! Might have to pinch the photo/heart frame thing idea too, where was it from?

Right that’s it, Im just having a 3 tier white cake with ribbon – this looks so pretty and to be honest I am bored to death of looking at cakes. So many are so detailed that I don’t want to eat them!!

    Thanks for sharing :)

  4. Purple seams to be the “it” color this year, both with fashion and florals. My brides have been asking for “aubergine accents”. This is really just a fancy french way to say dark purple but is seams to make their wedding color palette a little more sophisticated. It makes me smile because I have always loved the word.

Thanks for another lovely blog entry!

Gorgeous! And love the venue – although I’m slightly biased as I’m getting married there in September! Lovely photos x

Gorgeous wedding, I love the photo frames!
I’ve been looking for something similar – does anyone have an idea on where I could find them?
