Inspiration

Hooray, Friday afternoon is finally here! And what better way to celebrate than with a dreamy inspiration shoot full of fashion, flowers and frolics? If you caught this lunchtime's preview of the latest collection from Halfpenny London and fell for the dresses, then you'll be really excited to see more Halfpenny dresses in this shoot. There's some gorgeous twirling action too. Styled by The Wedding Bazaar and photographed by Georgina Harrison, with a colour palette of greys, pinks and soft greens and a feather motif running throughout, this shoot really is brimming with inspiration for you.

The Venue

Helen the Stylist: Nestled amongst breathtaking scenery and picturesque river walks...Brinkburn definitely makes your heart skip a beat and allows your imagination to go wild at the endless beauty of this country estate venue. With a perfect neutral palette in the aptly named white room; the inspiration behind this shoot was all about dark hues of black and gold, soft feminine hints of pink and decadent dipped feathers. We wanted raw love with dramatic gowns meets elegant simplicity.

The Photography

I adore working with Georgina Harrison Photography and after collaborating on multiple projects together I just knew she was the perfect photographer to capture the wild, untamed beauty of the surroundings whilst showcasing the elegant and refined elements of the shoot too.

The Flowers

Adam Prest, the florist, is a total dream to work with. Adam is progressive and really has a revolutionary approach to floral design. His creativity resulted in the most magnificent feather and elegant crystal installation above the tablescape. With soft hues of herbaceous greens, soft greys and muted pinks the mix of wild mushrooms, Hellebore, ranunculus and eucalyptus he provided the perfect bouquet for the bride too. The tabletop was adorned with low unstructured arrangements overflowing with aromatic olives, eucalyptus, sexy snake print Fritallaria and pops of Skimmia.

The Details

Our tablescape was completed using lots of wonderful suppliers courtesy of the fabulous team at Prezola. Founder Ali has a background in interior design and with her eye for opulence we knew our dining table would look nothing short of spectacular. The Linen Works provided the dove grey tablecloth and pink napkins, whilst Viners loaned us the most stylish black cutlery and contrasting crockery was supplied by Villeroy And Boch. The place settings were completed with place names from stationery creators EYI Love which sat alongside black dipped feathers from Things By Laura and matching cascading feathers on the chair backs .

The Dresses

Our bride Taloulah, wore the most divine Halfpenny London gowns from talented designer Kate Halfpenny. Each and every dress is so beautifully stylish and we were simply thrilled to have three dresses to play with. The first was a divine little number called Marilyne. With a chic V neck and crafted in a gorgeous chantilly lace we paired it with a lovingly crafted, hand embroidered veil by Daisy Sheldon embroidery. Hair and makeup artist Patricia Soper created a tousled wave with plenty of volume with a pretty pink eye palette and slick of lipgloss to complete the look. The next dress was a stylish statement swan tulle petal skirt with a silk camisole; we paired this with a gold bangle and ring from Sarah Brown Jewellery. The final frock was “Daisy”, a gown with the most wonderful fluidity to the movement of the fabric and statement feather shoulder adornment. We paired this with blush Valentino rockstuds to compliment its edgy feel. Patricia went bolder and opted for a bolder eye and defined eyebrows for this look with Taloulah’s hair swept up in a feminine braid and showcasing a delicate crystal encrusted hair accessory from Feather and Coal.

The Cakes

To finish, I simply have to mention the cake table. Designed by Sarah of The Blush Cake Company, it created quite the statement for our shoot. A three tier feather beauty took centre stage flagged by two statement hand painted single tier treats. Gorgeous gilded mini cakes designed to make the mouth water added to the decadence and delight.
