Planning

Hey lovelies, I hope everyone has had a great weekend, with lots of successful planning, or even attended a wedding show maybe?! I’ve had a hectic couple of weeks including the sorting out of all our invites - very exciting! Todays post is all about the beautiful colours and styles that we have chosen for our Norfolk countryside wedding...

COLOURS & STATIONERY

As mentioned in one of my previous blogs, we have gone for a classic chic scheme, full of beautiful neutral tones of purple, pink and grey and a touch of silver. Our stunning barn venue, Southwood Hall, will really give these colours a great contrast and create a beautiful the rustic-glam theme. Now the wonderful world of stationery! Being obsessed with quote prints and fonts, this process did take quite a while. We are SO lucky to have a friend in design meaning that we were able to create completely bespoke invites...so as you can imagine the possibilities are endless! We wanted to achieve a simple yet statement collection incorporating pink & grey. We couldn't decide on just one font, so opted for two...and when they arrived last week we were over the moon!

RUSTIC LUXE

FLOWERS

Our beautiful florist that we have chosen is the lovely Michelle Boon from Swaffham & Fakenham Florist. Michelle didn't take long to understand our style, going straight over to the array of flowers, and quickly pulling together a few...and it was perfection! With the theme of pastels, dusks and lavender greys in mind, we chose flowers such as white and pale pink peonies, sweet avalanche roses, dusky astrantia and blush astilbe. I also have a love for texture, so in order to get a hint of luxe and glam we have chosen a beautiful grey velvet ribbon to tie the bouquets, which also matches the waist bands on my bridesmaid dresses!

TABLE SETTINGS

Table decor can be an area where brides struggle, maybe because of being indecisive with too many ideas, or even getting the feeling that the Pinterest photos are unachievable...don't loose confidence they are possible! Everyone is on a budget, so what we have done is to spend on the items that will make a big impact when our guests enter. We have decided to be bold and go for pale grey table cloths draped to the floor, with stunning embossed silver cutlery. In the centre we have chosen for large displays of flowers on tall glass vases surrounded by lots of pretty tea lights. To display place name cards we have simply chosen to slot them into used corks. This will not only compliment our rustic venue, but will also be very budget-savvy as you can buy corks online in bulk for a very reasonable price. I literally cant wait to see the finished look on the big day! Hopefully some of you have picked up some great ideas that you may use for your big day! I would love to hear about your flowers? Or even table settings? Just remember to stick true to your style and enjoy planning! Lots of love, Vicky x
