Charlotte Thomson, Boudoir Illustrations
Charlotte Thomson is an Artist & Illustrator, specialising in boudoir & bridal portraits with a vintage twist! Based in Nottingham, Charlotte specialises in creating illustrative bridal portraiture with a vintage and retro touch…
I work full time from my studio in Nottingham creating artwork for both individuals and niche lingerie and fashion companies within the vintage scene, I create a lot of work for What Katie Did, Eternal Spirits Corsetry and have worked with Wonderbra on a 50′s pin up calendar they produced, so I have a lot of specialist knowledge when it comes to fashions of the early 20th Century. I also produce a lot of promotional portraits for UK and US burlesque performers and promoters which is always a lot of fun!
The bespoke portraiture for brides is the part of my business that I’m really passionate about, a lot of my clients have quite unusual takes on their weddings, or want a saucy portrait as a gift for their groom which makes for a fun and varied body of work!
If you’re all about the retro vintage or happen to be a fan of the vintage boudoir maybe this is something that takes your fancy… just get in touch with Charlotte for more information or check out the website.

Vintage Twee on Etsy
Joanne emailed Rock My Wedding with her range of handcrafted and vintage-inspired table decor for special occasions such as weddings, parties and bridal showers recently and I loved the fun selection on her website.
Joanne sources as many vintage items as possible to create the items, making a selection of very unique favours and table accessories.
‘My work has a very traditional English appeal and is greatly inspired by my British heritage, love for tea and the style and classic romance from a bygone era. It fits really well with the English tea-party/Alice in Wonderland and vintage themed weddings which are very popular right now.’
I particularly loved the Alice in Wonderland themed party picks and Retro Popcorn Cone favours. If you would like to see more, Joanne recetly opened a store on Etsy called Vintage Twee so head over and have a browse!
Garter Discount from Liberty in Love
Just a little reminder that you can still nab yourself 10% off a selection of Florrie Mitton and LovebySusie garters at Liberty in Love. This is a Rock My Wedding exclusive and I for one know that garters were a serious black hole when it came to finding something stylish so why not check out their gorgeous selection?
Evangaline Rose Bridal Event
British gown designer Beverly Lister has announced the launch of her latest Downtown collection with an exclusive Cupcake and Cosmopolitan party. Taking place at Evangeline Rose Bridal, Godalming on Sunday 20th June from 12-4pm and tying in with the launch of the new Sex and the City 2 movie, the themed party will offer oh-so-stylish brides-to-be the opportunity to try on the gorgeous new gowns while enjoying complimentary Cosmopolitans and cupcakes from My Cupcake Kitchen.
To bring out the ‘inner Carrie’ in every bride, wedding hair stylist Severin Hubert from the Hepburn Collection will be on hand to demonstrate chic hairstyles to complement the gowns.
The Downtown collection features sleek and sexy shapes in a pretty range of colours from ivory and oyster to pink, duck egg and pistachio. Ranging from £750 to £2000, the made-to-measure gowns are all handmade in England using Duchesse satins and feature several sassy short dresses, ideal for summer weddings. And you know how we love a short dress here at Rock My Wedding!
For accessories to match, Evangeline Rose Bridal stocks a unique range of vintage headpieces, jewellery and shoes from designer’s including Vivien Sherriff, Glass Oyster, Polly Edwards and Rainbow Couture.
All gown orders placed before 30th June 2010 will receive a complimentary pair of bridal shoes from the Evangeline Rose Bridal collection – who needs another excuse for a day out with the girls?
