Last night was the preview launch event for the new Roksanda Ilincic collection for Whistles in Liverpool and today you can buy the collection online or in stores. I went along with my Mum to browse for a dress to wear to a wedding I’m attending next month… I’m a little late on the uptake for getting a dress
The collection was stunning – I tried at least 5 different designs on and they all looked beautiful – the cut and fabrics really showed the quality of the underlying designer.
And while I was browsing, it occurred to me that some of the collection would make for an absolutely kick-ass Mother of the Bride dress… namely the ones featured below.
I actually tried the middle one on and it was gorgeous, but not quite right for me, (I’ll let you ladies guess which one I actually went for!)
So if you have a special event or wedding coming up an fancy splashing out on a designer dress at a fraction of the cost, or think your mum could Rock a Roksanda then head over to Whistles to check the collection out.
Yours Truly,
Rebecca

PS, If any of you ladies happen to be reading this, or if you know any of them, big thanks to the team at the Whistles Liverpool store for helping me to choose! x

I think you picked the blue one, second from the left in the top row! x
I reckon dark blue, top right. Although Roz’s call is a good shout!
I kinda hope you picked the yellow one, but probably cause I’ve been lusting over the yellow dress since I saw the collection announced a couple of weeks ago!!!
I think you picked the dark blue to, top right.
It’s my favourite.. ;o)
I think the navy blue one shoulder – it’s fabulous! xxx
I hope you picked either the navy blue one shoulder in the top right corner or the bluey-lilac halterneck one next to it because they are both stunning – I’d have gone for one of those!
ha ha some of you are so right!! Spooky!
She looks fab in it – I had an iphone pic emailed last night from the changing room.
I’m annoyed though. As now I want one. Which means I will possibly have to buy one…..

Hello ladies!
I won’t keep you all in suspense any longer…
I bought ‘Larkspur’ – the second from the left on the top row.
It fits like a glove and I wanted some thing fashionable (the Bride likes fashion and made a real effort for my wedding along with all the other ladies,) but something I would wear again.
I loved the Navy asymmetric on the top right, but it was skintight in the 10 (I couldn’t sit down!) or too big in the 12
. Plus I felt it was a little too formal… I wouldn’t for example wear it for dinner with the girls or out partying.
I also tried the second from the left on the bottom row – very cute, very much for the flatter chested lady! And of course Delphinium, which was the most beautifully cut and fitted dress I have ever worn, but was a little too ‘old’ for me, very vintage look, and again, I wouldn’t wear it again.
However. Now I’m worried… it’s a Catholic wedding and the dress is short – mid-thigh. Obviously the rest is quite covered and I think I’m going to wear either nude back seamed tights or maybe some polka dot ones if I can find them… anybody got any thoughts on that?
xoxo
I love the navy one shoulder. Taking a trip to Whistles this weekend
Good choice…stunning colour and really unusual without screaming ‘Look at me!’
Wolford have an awesome pair of tights called ‘Circle’ if you were inclined to go statement in the leg dept, or Jonathon Aston’s Polka Dot tights are more subtle and more opaque too.
I think you’re right-you’re not flashing your chest or too much shoulder, so you’re able to Rock the Legs without worrying about offending Jesus…!
I love dresses.

Darn it I was so sure I was right! I’m sure Jesus will love it if you get your pins out – the granny in me recommends M&S temperature control seamed tights – affordable, gorgeous AND practical – an April wedding might be a bit nippy in the pews!
Wooo hooo I guessed right!
It’s a beautiful dress, I don’t think it’s too short for a wedding either xx
