It’s always sad to say goodbye to something on the blog but we are not afraid to call time on a idea that’s not working, or we think we can do better. Our previously regular ‘Shares’ post has been axed. Wave bye bye people.

So today, we get to tell you what we’re doing instead!

Shares used to be a post which we could ‘share’ all the news with you. We receive loads of emails every week requesting that we share things with our readers and we like to tell you about the latest discounts, sample sales and new products that we think might be of interest to you, so fortnightly we used to make these a bumper news-y post. But we’ve had a problem. Not only are we getting quite fussy about what we share – making sure it’s stuff we are totally sure will interest lots of you, even though sometimes it may be region specific with a local bridal store for example, but we also have more and more great stuff to write about on the blog. Shares was getting left behind for weddings, pretty and the super cool.

The Future is Facebook

Which brings me onto Facebook… dispite our Google Analytics stats telling us very definitely otherwise, Facebook is under utilised by RMW readers and we suddenly realised this was a way better way to share the news! With Facebook topping 500 Million users, we reckon it’s time we all got involved in spreading the Rock My Wedding word too…

So this is a heads up. Rock My Wedding’s Facebook page is about to get bigger and better. We want you to ‘Like’ it more and we want more followers. I reckon at the end of today if every single one of you who doesn’t already ‘like’ our page, heads over there right now, we could have another few thousand fans. The challenge is on. Get ‘liking’!

Facebook Fun

From now on we will be using Facebook to share all sorts of snippets of news we receive, bridal boutiques, new collections, discounts, bargains and cool stuff we see around and about that you need to know about right now. Only if it gets the RMW seal of approval of course . We’ll be writing all these as notes and you’ll see them pop up in your news feed so make sure you go check them out if they apply to or interest you and ‘like’ them – so we know what is popular.

We have also created a ‘Charlotte and Rebecca Out and About’ Album, so when we get to catch up and do anything particularly RMW… there will be a snap shot for you to keep up with. Check out the latest Rock My Wedding meeting added in photo format to the gallery. You might even see Adam feature on there every now and then .

And, we want you guys to join in….!

Facebook Freedom

Any one of you as a ‘fan’ can head over to RMW’s Facebook page and add a picture to our fan photo gallery. We want you to start using this as a resource in two ways…

1. Inspiration Photos.
There is a section on our Facebook page right below the photo albums on the right side bar that allows you to post Photos called Photo’s by Others. If you have found something you love, the perfect bouquet, a wicked bit of fun for your reception, anything you think the rest of our RMW community wold like, then we want you to post a picture of it there. You could post anything wedding or anything Rock My Wedding – in fact why not snap yourselves telling your friends about Rock My Wedding?!

2. Your Real Dress Photos.
Something we hear time and time again from our brides is that you want to see more real brides in your dress. So this is where the marrieds amongst you can help. We want you to post a picture of you in your dress, showing it off in all it’s glory so other brides can search through and see what it’s like on a real, curvy woman.

So, if you want to hear our latest news, finds, discounts and bargains, plus a bit of behind the scenes insider info, you need to head over to Rock My Wedding’s Facebook page and click the little ‘Like’ thumbs up to become a fan.

We’re laying the gauntlet down… let’s unleash the might of the Rock My Wedding readership and blow Rock My Wedding’s Facebook fan numbers out of the water. The more of you who like it, the more we can spread the word!
