I adore the simplicity of this shoot. Natasha Hurley has captured some really beautiful images, but there's only one outfit, one beauty look and one table set up, just like in a real wedding. The golden light is dreamy and there's no way you'd realise from the photographs that you were in the centre of London, rather than the countryside. Which is exactly what Natasha wanted to portray - even if you're having a city wedding, there's no reason why you can't make the most of any green space available to you to capture some idyllic shots like these. The idea of a living tablescape is also a lovely one, it's always such a shame that floral arrangements wilt and rot after the big day - why not create something that can be added to your garden once the proceedings are over? These gorgeous plants were simply bought from Homebase but really add a rustic charm to the lovely set up you see here.
Natasha the Photographer: The idea behind this shoot was to have a London city wedding which felt like it was in the countryside. The idea was to inspire brides to think of the green spaces in London which are often just around the corner from a venue which can be used to create an altogether different look to your wedding portraits...where you can dash outside together in the sunshine and suddenly be amongst nature, ancient trees, forgotten wilderness spots and have the best of both worlds – country and city in your wedding photographs. As a photographer I love the magic you can create on camera. Here, whilst the look and feel is of the countryside, you are in fact in the midst of London. We wanted to create a bohemian feel, reflecting the idea of nature and wilderness with the bride wearing a skirt and top (bridal separates) and flowers in her hair (wax flowers). Leading on from the country feel, I wanted to inspire brides to think of the table florals and created a ‘living’ tablescape. Using miniature white violets and a large white buddleia centrepiece as the table flowers the idea was that these are beautiful flowers that will remain alive after a couple’s wedding day. And can be used as a window box or planted in the couple’s garden - a beautiful keepsake of their wedding day.
