Summer Loving At The Lakes… Part 1.

October 14th, 2011 by Adam@rockmywedding Leave a reply »

A wedding submitted to RMW by Lawson Photography is both a blessing and a curse. It’s a blessing because it means that you lot, our gorgeous bride-to-be audience (and a few others that don’t fit into that category I hasten to add) are in for a complete visual treat. A pretty-fest.

It’s a curse because it means I’ll have been up half the night pouring over all the amazing piccies! Haplessly deciding which images to publish and which images to sadly deprive you of. It’s tough. I want Lawson Photography to know that they are at least partially responsible for the bags-big-enough-for-a-weekly-shop that are currently swinging about underneath my eyes…

Anyway, Charlotte and John got married in june in Aldingham. As previously mentioned, The ruddy Lawsons were there snapping away being geniuses…

Just Because It’s June.

Our wedding was on 3rd June 2011. The ceremony took place at St Cuthberts, Aldingham in the Lake District. The reception and evening venue was at The Swan Hotel in Newby Bridge.

Love At First Fitting.

My wedding dress was from Marrime in Kendal, Cumbria. The dress is called Galatea designed by Pronovias, off white in colour. The dress was just gorgeous and I fell in love with it straight away.

More Marrime.

I had a floor length veil with little AB crystals all over it so it shimmered over my dress. Just like the dress, I bought my veil from Marrime.

I wore a hairband with a Rose design called Charlotte by Rosie Willetts, to match my vintage floral theme. I wore earrings and a bracelet made with AB crystals to coordinate with my hairband and veil, all bought through bridal shop Marrime.

Vintage Peep Toe.

My shoes were from Rachel Simpson. Peep toe vintage 1920’s style with an 8cm heel, made with two part ivory satin with champagne leather t-bar.

Soft Curls.

I had my hair done by Tori at Hair lounge, Barrow-in-Furness. My hair was styled into soft curls loosely pinned, I went for this style to have a natural soft look.
Make-up was by Jenna at Hair lounge. With my make-up I wanted a natural look with pink tones and I left it in the expert hands of the make up artist.

Efflorencence.

Our florist was Efflorencence in Barrow-in-Furness. We told the florist that our theme was vintage floral and colours and pink, white/ivory and green. The bouquets (Bridal and smaller version for the bridesmaids) were made up of Peonys (my favorite flower), roses, hydrangeres and green foliage and John had a white peony buttonhole. The groomsmen each had vintage pink rose buttonhole.
Table centres were birdcages incorporating the same flowers.

Come On You Reds…

My bridesmaids dressed in rose pink from Dessy range at Marrime bridal shop.

The groomsmen wore grey 3 piece suits were bought from M&S, with a white shirt, black shoes and rose pink tie and hankerchief from Dessy to match the bridesmaids. The groom wore a blue 3 piece suit from Next, white shirt from Pink, brown shoes from Dune and ivory tie and hankerchief, finished with a pair of Manchester United cufflinks.

Lights, Camera, Action.

Eye candy it certainly is, but look at the people. Count the smiles. These aren’t ‘say cheese’ smiles. The displays of affection you see here have been caught by photographers who fade in to the background and capture real moments.

I need an early night before I can think about making my selections for part 2.

Take care folks,

Adam.

Everyone looks beautiful and radiant…as they should do (it’s a wedding, after all!!), but it doesn’t always translate to film. The Lawsons are just SO magnificent at making things look as lovely and as special as they do in real life! xx
