So we thought we would start ” Va Va Vintage” week with a giant Rock My Wedding type bang. And with a bang we mean a totally and utterly gorgeous wedding that when it fell into my Inbox I couldn’t email the photographer back quick enough to say “Yes yes of course we would LOVE to feature it!!”
The whole affair is super pretty, with a ton of personal touches and D.I.Y details that are all captured to absolute dream like perfection by David Jenkins ( yes he of Smile Like You Mean It fame – a big RMW hit)
Rob and Leanne were married in the spring of this year and even though the day was subject to the typical April showers they didn’t manage to rain on this BEAUTIFUL parade.
Crystal Dreams
The dress was by Jenny Packham and was bought from Clifton Brides in Bath. We had got engaged two years before our wedding but I decided to wait a year before going to try dresses on. I had a good collection of Bride magazines by then but I had only found a one or two dresses that I really liked and they were far to expensive so I was worried that I would not find a dress that I liked! None of them seemed to really grab me.
I knew that I didn’t want a strapless dress, and that I wanted it to be ‘floaty’ but that was about all I knew! Saying that, I had seen Jenny Packham dresses online and in magazines and really liked lots of them!
I ended up booking two appointments for the same day, tried on 4 dresses at the first and then went to Clifton Brides where they showed me the rail of Jenny Packham dresses… The first one that caught my eye was Crystal, but I took 4 or 5 to try on. I tried Crystal on first and after trying on the others I had decided. To my surprise I bought my dress on the first day of trying any on! I really thought I would be searching for months!
Shoe Love
I searched and searched for shoes as I wanted some that would complement the dress. In the end I got fed up of searching and got some that I decided would do…and were cheap!
Little did I know they would be on show so much during the day due to the rain, but looking back they were actually fine!
Something A Bit Different
After I bought my dress I loved the thought of getting a headpiece similar to the ones that the models wear in the Jenny Packham catwalk shows. I knew that I didn’t want a veil as I wanted to go for something a bit different.
Whilst visiting London I decided to go to the Jenny Packham Boudoir to look at the pieces there. I also looked on lots of websites at vintage headpieces but often the ones I loved already had a sold sign on them! So I went back to the Boudoir in London with my brother who helped me decide which head piece to go for!
MAC Magic
I always intended on doing my own hair and makeup. In the end I went to Mane Event in Trowbridge to get my hair done – Debs did a really great job of giving my fine hair some much needed volume!
I did my own make up but I decided to treat myself to some new MAC make up for the day.
The Handsome Groom
Rob decided to buy his suit as he felt it would be a much better fit than a hired one. He always wanted a grey fitted suit rather than a morning suit.
Originally he planned to go for a skinny tie but decided in the end to go for a cravat to make it feel a bit more ‘weddingy’!
So how are we doing with Vintage week so far lovelies?
Seriously – it’s gonna be mega.
And if you loved part one of this wedding you are going to ADORE part two!
Big Vintage Love

What a gorgeous bride! I love the back of the dress, it’s really stylish and also sexy.
The photographer has managed to make all the shots really bright and sunny despite the rain.
So far so good!
I love the dress and hair piece, unfortunately that shape would never suit me in a million years but it looks lovely on the bride. Love the black and white kissing shot.

Beautiful Dress, the bride looks stunning, amazing hair piece….love the car..the flowers. Perfect!!
Wow! What a beautiful and well shot wedding. I had exactly the same experience too with wedding dresses as I fell for Jenny Packham – Alice on my 1st and subsequently only day of shopping! Her dresses are stunning.
Can’t wait for the next installment!
Oh No, now I want a Jenny Packham catwalk head band. I already have a veil and a big flower, don’t suppose I can wear them all?
I have the headband in crystal (I think its Acacia 2?) but I love the way she’s rocked forward, I’d always tried mine on further back but I shall now be trying this look out tonight!
xx
As always a stunning wedding and I’m forever in love with JP’s dresses, that hair piece is to die for and the wedding shoes are so cute and look comfy looking forward to part 2 xx
