A Love Story.
Because that’s what it’s all about isn’t it.
After the rings have been exchanged and the cake has been eaten and you have both had the time of your life….. what are you left with?
A Marriage. A Happy Ever After. A Love story.
And as much as we adore pouring over every last detail of your W-day we also like to hear about how it all began, how you first met, what happened at the proposal, how much you are looking forward to spending the rest of your lives together.
RMW reader, founder of stationery design company Pocket Typewriter, Love Lust List member AND general uber stylish lady Leckie (so many attributes!) and her fiance John are sharing their love story with you gorgeous lot today. Oh, and their engagement shoot is based on the film “The Notebook”.
I know. I die.
These images are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen.
And that’s all I have to say.

Leckie from Pocket Typewriter: Well it all started with a resignation and the drive of our life, East coast to West coast America! I was hoping that there may be a chance of a proposal but to my disappointment there was no sign, no hidden ring (I checked the bag!) and on the night we reached the Californian coast and he said that we had to get up and watch the sunrise I thought “this is it, my time has come!”

I got up that little bit earlier and popped on a bit of lippy (I had to look half decent if I was getting engaged today).… View the full post.
What Katie Did… Damn Good Decisions, a Few Balloons and The Photographer
To coin a phrase that The Boy loves to use… “if you buy sh*te, you buy twice”.
That sort of sums up our wedding photography experience.
Yes, we’re on to our second, and final wedding photographer, and whilst the first photographer is by no means “sh*te”, they were by no means right either. Well, not for us anyway.
At the very beginning of our plans, when everything is overwhelming and ever-so slightly confusing, it seemed that every source for wedding pretty was shouting at me that I needed to book the venue as soon as physically possible, and then the photographer… because apparently, “the best ones get booked years in advance, don’t you know”.

So, we rushed into it. In just over a month into our plans, my shiny new fiance and I found ourselves with our lovely venue and a photographer… we were on track, according to the rule book.
But gradually, that little voice in the back of my head started to put doubts into my mind. I wish I’d taken a step back and had a good think, because as I became more immersed with serious amounts of all things wedding, a clearer picture – no pun intended
– of what we wanted emerged.
And it wasn’t that photographer, or that style.

I didn’t really know what to do, there’s nothing in the rule book for this one! It literally took me weeks to broach the subject with The Boy. I was worried about his reaction, and the fact that we would lose our deposit – which is never a good thing when every spare penny is going on a wedding!… View the full post.
A Beachfront Engagement Shoot…
It must be the time of year, but right now, all I can think about is escaping to the sun. Relaxing, forgetting it all… so when Jon and Angela of Janda Photography sent us in this engagement shoot, it was right up my street! And the perfect thing to prepare you for the weekend this Friday afternoon.
We pass this Caribbean style beach house every morning when walking the dog, and were waiting for the right opportunity to feature it in an engagement portrait shoot. The weather was perfect (in April!), James and Vicky are gorgeous, so it was time to make Bognor look like Barbados!
All captured within half a mile of Janda Photography HQ, the shoot followed our usual modus operandi – A relaxed wander around, chatting, getting to know each other and looking for interesting locations (the bluebell shots were taken on a roundabout). All images are initially directed, but then we see what happens (Vicky nearly fell asleep, relaxing in the sun by the beach house). Wedding in 3 weeks time on a beautiful tropical island. The Isle of Wight.
Ahem! Good-looking couple alert!
I’m having a real moment over these images. That blue sky. That blue sea. The waves, the colours, the way they’re looking at each other… I could go on all day!
And more than that, I’m loving the variety of styles (and detail sucker that I am,) all the close up shots of the surroundings. It really paints a picture of the day.… View the full post.
What Julie Did…..The E Shoot.
I’m sure JP won’t agree, but when we woke up on the morning of our e shoot, he had a face like a well skelped arse! I knew I would have my work cut out that day trying to snap him out of his mood and get him to look like he actually loved me, instead of the evils he was giving me across the room ‘for making him look like a total tool’. We got in the car and drove to the airport to pick up our photographer Mark Archibald. I got the silent treatment the whole way!

Mark greeted me at the airport with a hug and a smile and I knew it was two against one now and JP would have no option but to co-operate!
JP did not speak the whole way to our destination. He’s such a hard ass! We play this game all the time but he always thanks me for it in the end. If it wasn’t for me making him do things he doesn’t want to do, he wouldn’t have Ping Pong dim sum, Wagamamas, cous cous or wine in his life- his 4 favorite things now, obviously after me! He still doesn’t talk much when we are in Wagamamas, due to the sharing table’s situation, but he loves that Katsu curry so much it’s worth it to him.

Our destination was Cambridge, one of my most favouritest places. The first time I went there I was in total awe of the architecture and history of the city.… View the full post.
