Would you have a surprise wedding? I’ve never even considered it before, but that’s exactly what YouTube fitness vloggers Carly & Leon did…and it looked flippin’ awesome! I definitely think more people should do it. I also think more people should have a Nandos van at their wedding. I mean who doesn’t like Nandos?! I can’t think of a better food to serve hungry dancing guests.
How did the pair manage to pull off such an epic surprise? Well I’ll let them tell you that, but first of all I’ll set the scene. Guests arrived at the stunning Fishley Hall expecting to celebrate the couples joint 30th birthday. Little did they know…
I love this rustic, tipi for many reasons. For starters it was truly a DIY affair, with family and friends helping out with flowers and food (so much food in fact that Vic and Dan were eating wedding buffet for weeks). Vic also has several changes of outfit – including TWO capes. Yes TWO CAPES. And all for under £400. She’s clearly a bargain hunting queen as both of her dresses were purchased second hand – what absolute finds.
The whole wedding looks like a party from start to finish, which is exactly what the couple were aiming for with their version of WedFest. There’s some spectacular flowers, the Bridesmaids look SO cool and just wait until you see the serious shape throwing on the dance floor. Enjoy this one lovelies, it was clearly THE festival to be at last summer…
When we share the wedding of a florist, we always know we’re in for a treat. Katie and Paul’s flower filled big day is no exception. The colours, the textures, the sheer volume of blooms…honestly, there’s just so so SO much pretty! Katie runs business Blackberry & Bloom, whose flowers and styling we love, so it’s no wonder her wedding day was gorgeous.
Our lovely couple chose the magical Nancarrow Farm as their venue, you can see from the images how striking the barns are. Those beams covered in greenery make the most incredible backdrop to Katie and Paul’s outdoor ceremony. They were blessed with a sunny day too, which made everything look even more wonderful, although with the dramatic Cornish skies and Nick Walker’s photography – they were always on to a winner!
Rachel and Edward’s rustic farm wedding is SO pretty and there are SO many lovely details to share that I don’t know where to begin. Between the pair of them they created ALL OF the decor – from the wooden palettes for the table florals, to their photo frame table plan, even the canapé bar and the favours were put together by the couple. And you know what they say, the couple that crafts together, stays together…or something like that 😉
Images come from the lovely Jessica Reeve who has captured every moment beautifully. I particularly like the one of Rachel in the car with her Dad – such a lovely moment, filled with happiness and pride. This looks like a truly magical day – congratulations Rachel and Edward!
Sarah Jane Ethan is one of my favourite photographers because she always captures her couples having fun. And I don’t just mean smiling, I mean having great big belly laughs together. It’s a wedding day! It’s supposed to be joyous! Alex and Ben certainly look like they are having the time of their lives 🙂
As well as beautiful, happy people the decor in this wedding is rather lovely too. Embracing Woodhill Hall’s woodland setting, it’s rustic, pretty and makes the outdoors in. Bride Alex has done a great job with the styling and DIY projects. The purple accents everywhere are simply stunning and using lots of different tones keeps it really contemporary, rather than matchy matchy. Oh and her Riki Dalal high-necked gown? SWOON.
Two words. Anne-Lisa’s skirt. OMG it’s incredible! I love the swooshiness, I love the texture and I LOVE the floral embellishments. It’s just such a statement – slightly unexpected after you see her classic lace top too. We always love an element of surprise! Oh and it’s from designer Leila Hafzi, who creations are not only beautiful, but also ethical and eco-conscious.
Anne-Lisa and Glenn’s magical wedding is like a dream unfolding in a Norwegian forest, with a barn full of luxe decor (another gorgeous unexpected surprise) and lots of super glamorous guests. The couple’s adorable kids played their part perfectly too – what a lovely family. Images come from Green Antlers Photography, who always seem to capture the moments of the day you don’t even think about…but often those are the most special.
Lovely Bride Lorn is making me want to be her friend. She has no shame over admitting that she totally fan girl-ed over RMW while planning her wedding, and I’m a total RMW fan girl, one of the originals in fact 😉 She also based her wedding reception meal around the ULTIMATE French restaurant – L’Entrecote, where they only serve steak and chips, with the most buttery, herby sauce you’ve ever tasted. Honestly if you haven’t tried it before, you haven’t lived. In fact, if anyone wants to join my new BFF and I on a road trip to France then let me know…
Now that her wedding day is over, she’s enjoying her daily dose of Rock My via our lovely interiors site, Rock My Style, so we’ve well and truly welcomed her into the fold. THANK YOU Lorn & Russ for being so lovely and for letting us feature your beautiful wedding day.
Images come from the wonderful John Barwood – his work always strikes a note in my heart and this wedding is no execption. And we’re not the only ones who think so, John received a Junebug Wedding Photo Award for the image of the couple dancing during the ceilidh reception. It’s SO striking and captures the essence of joy that a wedding brings to perfection. Right, let’s get started shall we? I have a feeling you’re going to love this one…
Bride Annie is a ballet dancer and OMG can’t you tell by her amazing posture?! Looking at dancers always makes me want to go and stretch immediately – Annie is stunning in her wedding gown and carries herself so beautifully. Like a Princess in fact.
I love that the couple opted for sunflower bouquets, they always make me smile and add a gorgeous pop of colour to proceedings. As does the wedding party attire, this lot are such a dapper bunch of boys and girls. And the reds and yellows of the outfits and the blooms are matched to a tee – a total styling dream.
Images come from Alexa Penberthy whose dreamy images always enhance a fairytale wedding, and this is most definitely one of those…
Apologies in advance everybody – but after this morning’s wedding feature you are absolutely going to need a Gin Bath at your wedding day. Yes, you heard me correctly. That’s a bath where gin pours from the actual taps. We know!!! Amazing right?
Rachel and Mark are big gin drinkers and just knew they had to create something gin related for their wedding day and so the Original Gin Bath was born and you can now hire it for your own wedding day!
Not only is the gin bath amazing, but the rest of their wedding day is pretty special too. Every last detail has been thought about and the styling is rustic, pretty and boho all at once, which is hard to pull off. Right, let’s delve in then shall we?! I hope you’ve got your tonic chilling in the fridge…
