Planning

This afternoon we're taking the plunge into deep and dark tones for your wedding day. We've seen this trend across Pinterest for a while now, but it seems that in the UK we're still all about the pastels. Well if pastels aren't up your street, then I'm here to tell you that it's more than ok to embrace the dark side when it comes to wedding day decor. And no, I'm not talking a full on Gothic themed wedding, I'm just having a bit of a moment over celestial things and with the starlight, comes the inevitable dark...
{Black Hole}
There's no colour more chic than black. If you're looking to add a touch of sophistication to proceedings then this is the ultimate shade. You don't have to embrace the colour in every aspect of your day, I'm not sure anyone is going to be swooning over black flowers or lipstick, but Bridesmaids attire, Groomsmen's accessories and table settings can all be enhanced with a touch of noir. If your venue is glam, modern or industrial, then it may well work much better than a softer palette of colours. Black Wedding Colour Palette // Dark Colour Palette For Wedding Day
{Darker Shade Of Grey}
Grey, particularly Charcoal Grey, is the perfect colour if you want to go dark but still keep things soft. There's a depth to the shade that really compliments creams, pinks and metallics, making it perfect for a wedding day. This shade is universally flattering, so it's a gorgeous one for Bridesmaids - two of our favourite brands, Twobirds and Rewritten, offer dresses in this dark chalky shade. I'm also a big fan of grey accessories, a seriously sexy pair of heels in charcoal would look fabulous underneath your wedding dress. {Nib Of Inky Blue}
If you're an interiors lover, then you will have no doubt fallen for the inky blue shade people are incorporating into their homes. Navy has been a wedding staple for a long time, but we think going a couple of shades darker when it comes to blue is always a good idea. It just adds a sense of drama to the classic proceedings. When it comes to choosing your colour palette we always suggest looking at your home and wardrobe as a starting point. That way you'll chose a range of colours you adore, that suit you and that reflect you as a couple. Think stormy seas, equator skies and inky blues.
