What The Wife Liked This Christmas……..

December 21st, 2009 by Charlotte@rockmywedding Leave a reply »

It’s been a busy old few weeks in the O’Shea household. There’s been lots of preparations for the festive period, shopping, food ordering ( hey I never claimed to be a domestic goddess – Christmas dinner is arriving on the 24th December courtesy of M & S)…….Christmas parties……not to mention trying to fit in lots of blogging and research.

So as a round-up of the last few weeks I thought I would share my wifey-type top pieces of lovely stuff with you all.

1) The perfect Nude. Yup I found it – can you actually believe?? All these years of searching and within a month of posting about it: www.rockmywedding.co.uk…. there it was.

Unfortunately it is not in anyway cheap – I’m talking Lady Luxe cosmetics pricing here folks.

BUT it is perfect for me and I figure you can’t put a price on perfection……..

And the piece of perfection in question?

Blend lipstick in number 16 by Japanese make-up brand Suqqu:

Suqqu-final

The ideal mix of pinky beige gorgeousness without looking too pale/concealer like. The finish is also spot-on with a creamy dreamy glossy lustre.

And of course little make-up junkie me didn’t just stop at a lipstick did she? Oh no. I also purchased the “Glow” powder foundation which has a soft velvety consistency and is virtually imperceptible on the skin.

A.mazing for wedding day base me thinks.

The lovely lady on the Suqqu counter at Selfridges also kindly donated a whole heap of samples including the rather spectacular “Bright-up” primer -that will be another addition to Santa’s ever growing list then……

2) Planning for 2010, we intend to make 2010 one of our best years EVER both from an RMW perspective and a life/wife one. We have already booked ourselves a sexy little Mr and Mrs Smith boutique hotel for New Year’s eve and are busy looking at ski resorts for February/March ( on the list of “things to do before I die” – learn to snowboard) …..not to mention our actual U.S of A road trip HONEYMOON for around May time.

It’s been holiday brochure fever here this weekend…….

3) Dave and Emma’s wedding on the 5th December. You know I mentioned we were attending a mighty sophisticated Cheshire do? Well that was the occasion and we had an absolutely bloomin’ great time. The bride looked stunning in her Caroline Castigliano “Chanel” gown ( yup it was her I was talking about a few weeks back too – she wore my favourite!!!)….and the affair had the exact right mix of Big Day pretty and Christmas cheer.

This is the CC loveliness Emma was rocking on her W-day :

Caroline Emma

And here is a sultry “sharing the love” picture I took of the couple on the dance floor…..

Dave-and-Emma

And here is a lovely little story…..

I was sat in between Mr O’Shea and Dave’s ( The Groom) Nana at dinner who in turn was sat next to her husband of over 50 years Dave’s Grandpa Eric. It was clear for all to see that this couple thought the world of each other and were prouder than proud to be attending their Grandson’s wedding on this cold, crisp and blue skied December day. They spoke fondly to each other throughout the entire wedding breakfast and for the remainder of the evening never once left each others side.

You see it’s not just about Big Love on the Big Day – it’s about Big Love 5 decades on.

I took this little snap to capture what I mean……

nanna

Thought I did an A-Ok job.

4) Nailing It for Xmas? I think I am. With pale yellow undertoned skin I can in no way rock a festive red so instead have gone for a dark metallic midnight blue on my toes and fingertips. Being bio-sculpture gel I’m confident they will see me well into the New Year without so much as a chip…

And just a few hours ago I was in fact flashing my manicure to Madam Contra on i-chat ( for those that don’t have an iMAC it’s like skype/video chat basically)….and do you know what? she had just that afternoon hot-footed it to Trafford Centre and purchased herself a bottle of No.7 “Betty Blues” polish which is exactly the same hue.

Great minds think alike eh?

So a big Yay for flashing our RMW Team perfectly pedicured tootsies in our favourite peep-toes as the clock strikes Midnight and we all say a big “Hello” to 2010…..

Come back later for some fabulous details from a darn gorgeous wedding.

Big Blue Metallic Nude Lipped Snap Happy Love

Love the website! Fab. Can I ask who did Emma’s hair? I am struggling to find someone who can pull off a lovely relaxed curl rather than the tight Victorian ringlets you oftne seen with bridal hair pics….
