The Second Biggest Love Of My Life.

So I’m thinking.

You must be wondering why I have an image of some guitar playing Gran’s for this post right?

Well I’ll explain then.

I love music. Pretty much more than anything. More than icecream, more than sunshine, more than glossy magazines, more than make-up…. ( hard to believe but true!)

It can change my mood from frazzled and wretched to joyful and optimistic in literally a few seconds. Especially if it’s the upbeat, get you on the dance floor rock and pop variety.

When I was planning the O’Shea Big Day it was the most important consideration – the entertainment I mean. Yes even more than “the dress” lovelies. In fact, a significant part of my overall budget went on making sure that from start to finish, our Spring soiree was accompanied by our favourite songs. A string quartet in the morning, a pianist in the afternoon, a rock band in the evening and an ipod playlist until the early hours.

It’s actually the ipod playlist I wanted to talk about specifically today. Because if you are anything like me, choosing what will be included will take a considerably LONG TIME. Of course there are your absolute all time reminds-me-of-this-one-time on holiday/when we met/when he proposed/at band camp ( delete as appropriate) must haves. But what about trying to cater for everyone? trying to get as many people on the dance floor as possible? and when I say that I mean Mums, Dads, friends, kids and ultimately…….your Gran.

My Nana Lily ( aka Joan Collins – that lady knows how to rock a statement jewel like no-one else on earth) loves a good bop, but not necessarily to Something Kinda Ooh.

So I thought I’d share some of our playlist with you, we received lots of compliments on both the band AND the disco element and the room was awash with guests shaking their stuff all night. I can only assume our musical tastes seemed to appeal to most folk.

Of course feel free to say “Oh my word you had WHAT?” – I won’t take offence. Honest. And whilst we are on the subject of saying what we think, the RMW community should share at least their top five tune choices in the comment box below, I’m sure between us we can inspire lots of future brides to add some songs they may have forgotten about.

Spinning Around – Kylie Minogue

I Don’t Feel Like Dancin – Scissor Sisters

Push It – Salt N Pepa

Billie Jean – Michael Jackson

500 Miles – The Proclaimers

(I can’t get no) Satisfaction – The Rolling Stones

Maneater – Nelly Furtado

Relight My Fire – Take That and Lulu

Dancing On The Ceiling – Lionel Richie

Born In The USA – Bruce Springstein

Place Your Hands – Reef

Dude Looks Like A Lady – Aerosmith

Give Me All Your Lovin’ – ZZ Top

White Wedding – Billy Idol

Rocks – Primal Scream

Common People – Pulp

Loco in Acapulco – The Four Tops

Friday I’m In Love – The Cure

Breakfast At Tiffany’s – Deep Blue Something

My Sharona – The Knack

Whenever, Wherever – Shakira

Sex On Fire – Kings Of Leon ( it was the name of our head table!)

So I bet you are now thinking, um…..not too many grandparent suitable tracks on there… right?

Well that’s my point really, just like everything else W-day related, you don’t need to beat yourself up about it. As long as you are surrounded by the people you adore and who adore you then believe me, you will have the best day ever.

And yes. I have film footage of my Nana complete with heart shaped glasses dancing like no-one was watching. Way past turning-into-a-pumpkin o’clock.

So go on then you gorgeous lot, tell us what makes you want to get up and shake it.

Big Off To Dance Around Like A Loon And Not Care Who See’s Me Love

P.S This is of course a wee while ago now, if my wedding was this year I would so be having some Ga Ga!

Copy and Paste, its a start for our disco!
It’s really hard to get the perfect playlist suitable for all, and i certainly want to have a full dance floor all night!

  2. GB says:

Spooky…we started talking about compiling a list of songs we want to hear last night!

As our reception is in a roof top venue, we will definitely be kicking off (after the first dance) with Dancing on the Ceiling.

My guilty pleasure song is ‘Going Loco down in Acapulco’ – good to see it on Charlotte’s list.

I spent hours and hours listening to demo’s of bands on-line as I was always convinced I would have a live band, but in the end we have gone for a DJ as there is so much music that we like and we thought this was the best way to get everything covered. We then spent ages looking for the opposite of a cheesy wedding DJ that likes the sound of his own voice! We have booked the wedding smashers…would be interested to hear if anyone has come across them at other weddings?

My Dad loves a bit of Queen and ELO and my Mum loves the ‘loaf so there will definitely be some soft rock in there!

The boy likes his house music so it will certainly be an eclectic musical extravaganza!

We’re thinking of asking people to choose a song they like on their RSVP card.

  3. Zorena says:

That playlist is genius and pretty much all of those songs are on our draft playlist too… We’ll have more Shakira though.
    x

  4. Katielase says:

My favourite wedding day playlist idea actually came from these pages (although forgive me, I do not for the life of me remember which gorgeous W-day it was!)

Anyway, it was to include a section on the RVSP for everyone to state one song that would get them up on the dancefloor, and use that as a basis for a playlist that will then also include certain songs that mean special things to me and Mr G, aswell as songs that I just really want to do the wedding dress boogie in (that would be Black Eyed Peas, My Humps… yeah baby).

I love this idea because it means that even the oldest and youngest members of the party will have at least one song that they want to dance to, and everyone will feel involved in the music, it won’t just be about me and him, but about everyone we love to spend time with. It’s especially good for us anyway, as Mr G was an 80s teenybopper and I was a 90s girl, so our respective groups of friends have somewhat different tastes in music. We’re hoping to reconcile them in this manner. It was that or just subject everyone to my own personal taste in music… but very few people want to dance the night away to Westlife and John Barrowman, sadly.

Finally may I just say that I sincerely hope someone on my guest list chooses MmmBop! If they don’t, I will :-D

  5. Erica Ward says:

Charlotte, I’m totally with you on Hanson…Mmm Bop reminds me of A-level revision, although why that’s a good thing I’m not entirely sure…Great playlist!

  6. Lucy says:

My old mate Starkie is doing our DJing- we used to work in the same student nightclub, him DJing, me on the door, so I know he will rock our socks :)

  7. Pria says:

This post is perfectly timed! In addition to your musical wonders I would add:
    1. OutKast-Hey Ya
    2. Kings of Leon -Sex on fire (towards the end of the evening)
    3. Black Eyed Peas- I gotta feeling
    4. Stevie Wonder- Superstitious

Also would love to know what you are all having for your first dance we have loads we love but can’t make a decision
    x

  8. Katie says:

Seriously loving this post Charlotte, as I am ALL about the tunes. Especially for w-day.

Hard to think of five, as 500 spring to mind… so here’s a few slow-ies and a few fast-ies!

*Arctic Monkeys – Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor
*The Emotions – Best Of My Love
    *The Beatles – Come Together
    *Stevie Wonder – Superstition

    *The XX – Islands
    *Fleet Foxes – Mykonos
    *Oasis – Songbird
*Dire Straights – Romeo & Juliet

    xoxo

Ps… Pria just seen your post. Hey Ya. Had forgotten about that little beauty! That’s one for the list :-)

  9. Abi says:

Sometimes I feel like you read my mind! He he. Before the ring, before we booked a venue, before we even thought about any other aspect of our wedding – we talked about music. I love it! All sorts of music… He plays (well) I sing & dance along (badly).

So we always thought we’d have some live music…. But prices have scared us slightly as we were Thinking we needed a DJ & a band…. So I have a few questions.

Rough price guidelines for a (semi) decent band?
Did you find that the playlist worked as well as if you’d had a DJ? Any suggestions for a wedding breakfast playlist (as doubt budget would push to live here also)

After reading this it confirms I would rather spend on Live and save on ‘DJ’.

Oh one more question – was the iPod dock loud enough?

Oh and gaga will definately feature! (whether he likes it or not)

  10. Anita says:

Some great songs Charlotte! We too were keen the music should be appropriate and I spent ages compiling a playlist, yet the song which caused the most excitement and got the most people on the dancefloor was one I never would have thought of – Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ which most of you (like me) will probably know better as ‘The Glee theme tune’! Nowadays whenever I hear it I think of dancing at my wedding with all my best friends -such a great memory!

Oh and Pria -our first dance song was ‘You are my destiny’ by Lionel Richie – the words sum up our relationship perfectly (‘You walked in and my heart discovered, That my life would never be the same’) and also M’s mum is a huge Lionel Richie fan!! We learnt a cha-cha routine to do. It was great fun!

  11. Hi Lovelies!

GB – “loves the loaf” – genius, just cried laughing.

Pria – Can’t believe I forgot Sex on fire!! That was the name of our head table and everything!! ( Have just added it on)

Erica – And me! although so does the Commitments soundtrack ( I played it over and over – geek that I am)

    ;-)

  12. Roz says:

Loving this post!!! Signing (in my head) at my desk :D

We had a lot of those songs, with Ga Ga thrown in, KoL and Queen ‘Don’t stop me now!’

    xx

@Katielase we put on our RSVP ‘I guarantee to boogie if the band plays ____________ !’ and got some great tunes from our guests. Mr Brightside was by far the most requested song.

  13. Aurelie says:

Genius! I’m in the middle of sorting music out for our wedding too…

Currently hoping to find an awesome DJ, with the added fun of the wedding being in France (and no, I can’t afford to fly someone in from the UK… shame!). I’m also looking into the iPod option, definitely for background tinkle during the dinner but also if I can’t find an AmAzing DJ in France.

One quick question though, how does everyone play their iPod songs? Normal playlist or mixed using a fancy desktop software first? And if mixed, any software recommendations?

    Thanks!
    Aurelie

  14. Victoria says:

Loving that play list – not too dissimilar to my own. Good memories! :-)

I had the most fun though compiling the song choices for the wedding breakfast. In keeping with my “keep it retro and vintagey but still modern and fun” theme I spent ages finding retro versions of modern tunes to mix up with the old school classics.

Best finds ever were Paul Anka and The Puppini Sisters’ “retro” swing/big band and 40s harmony versions of things like Mr Brightside, Wonderwall, Smells like Teen Spirit, Eye of the Tiger, Walk like an Egyptian, Crazy in Love, Could it be Magic and so on….

So many people asked for copies of the play list. Hearing lyrics that you are so familiar with but sung in an unusual way was brilliant and really got people talking. I intend to use the playlist for my Royal Wedding party on the 29th April!

Looking back at my video I heard songs like “Evacuate the Dancefloor” (ultimate cheese or what?) and my fave songs from Muse and Lady Gaga and got upset that I missed dancing to them, then the next clip would be me jumping around like a loon in the middle of the dancefloor… clearly a few blanks on that night!

  15. Rebecca says:

    Mine

Sex on Fire – My Mum’s favourite song (how embarassing)

Outkast – Hey Ya (our first year university “Solution” experience)

Rachel Stevens – Sweet Dreams my LA EX – Our first kiss (yes really. CRINGE)

Never Forget – Take That (no explanation needed)

  16. Fab list. We had to give our dj a list of ten songs that showed the music we liked so he could play those and base the rest of his set around it. That list included Lady Gaga, Elvis, Journey, Kings Of Leon, Ella Fitzgerald, Scissor Sisters and Take That. A good eclectic mix!

We also have a swing/pop/covers band and have chosen a playlist for them too. Can’t wait to see the dancefloor jumping!

  17. Brideandchic says:

We had the song request on the RSVP too, great idea but be ready for some horrors on there.. Fiddler on the roof for granny, “anything by starman off of pineapple dance studio” (presume this was a joke!!) and the ubituous abba and robbie Williams angels (would rather eat my own toes). But it was funny getting the rsvps back to see peoples requests and we also had gold digger, mr bright side and sex on fire so good choices!

We ended our evening with take that’s never forget :0)
    Xx

  18. GB says:

Choice of last dance song is between Never Forget or Friends will be friends.

I would love to hear more first dance choices?

  19. LuLu says:

Great playlist Charlotte! I pretty much danced all night at my wedding but my most memorable dancing tunes are as follows:-

Fight for this love – Cheryl Cole (hen do anthem!)
Sex on Fire – Kings of Leon
Never Forget – Take That (at the end of the night – yes it was messy)

and the BEST song of all night that I didn’t even put on my playlist but was requested by the mother in law……..

    Grandmaster Flash – White Lines!!!!

    Superb :-)

  20. Han says:

    What a timely post…!

It is the one major thing left on our to do list and its proving to be a real struggle.

We are both enormous fans of live music but a band seems to be that one stretch too far. We are now going down the avenue of asking each guest to choose 3 songs each and then adding all these tracks to a playlist on a digital jukebox.

Has anyone experienced a digital jukebox and if so how did it go down?

Apparently they come with over 40,000 tracks to choose from. My main concern about this is the two children in attendance hogging the box all night and repeatedly choosing songs like Crazy Frog – I shudder to thing…..

Oh and I would love to listening to Charlotte’s playlist in this beautiful spring like weather!

    x

  21. Victoria says:

awww, this is keeping me well and truly entertained on budget day – have to be at my desk until 6am. Yucky!

My first dance was to Greatest Day and our “ciao for now” last dance was We Go Together (from the end of Grease)… such a good way to end the night before we jumped on the Red Bus back to the after party.

  22. Linsey says:

I have discovered the Vitamin String Quartet who do string covers of modern songs – love them and we’ve decided to play them during our drinks reception! Also, as true Scots, we’re having a ceilidh band which is great for getting people up dancing. But we’ve also decided to have a half hour iPod slot each for me and hubby to be. He loves 80s rock (also letting him have his favourite band names as our table names, I’m so generous!) so I’ve named his the ‘half hour of power’ whereas mine will probably be a half hour of cheesy pop! I’m so excited at picking them:)

  23. Abi says:

So in all my questions I forgot to mention songs that we want to feature somewhere in our day:

Jackson 5 – I’ll be there – because I am a huge huge MJ fan and this song is just lovely!
MJ – Beat It or Thriller or Billie Jean or shall I just have a mega mix??
    Bruce – Born to Run
    Train – Hey Soul Sister
Prince – When Doves Cry, Little Red Corvette, Raspberry Beret (how do I chose?)
Steve Wonder – ahhh too many to chose from!
Thin Lizzy – Dancing in the Moonlight
    A variety of Motown songs
Sam Cooke – Wonderful World (the lyrics, the fact that we all had to sing it in our lessons at Uni – we both did a drama degree, thats how we met)
The Frames – Falling Slowly (a wonderful holiday in Cork)
GaGa – Just Dance or Poker Face or Bad Romance or Paparazzi… how do I choose???
Meatloaf (dont laugh) – Paradise by the Dashboard lights (probably FAR TOO LONG to feature)
    The Libertines
    The Specials – Monkey Man
    Amy Winehouse – Valerie

Journey (again dont laugh) – Dont Stop Believing (Before X Factor & Glee covered this, we were ALL OVER THIS SONG!)
Guns n Roses – Paradise City

And another hundred, thousand songs to consider!

And Katie – I love that Dire Straits song – reminds me of being a kid AND Empire Records!

Charlotte – I am definitely stealing some of your playlist suggestions…. how could I forgotten Britney AND Rolling Stones!!??!

  24. Esme says:

Haven’t got as far as planning the play list yet (another thing to think about!), but I have 5 songs we’re definitely going to have:
First dance – David Grey, Please forgive me (his suggestion, aww!)
Then – Barry White, My First, My Last, My Everything
Wigfield – Saturday Night (I know, I know – but my school friends will LOVE it!)
Diana Ross, Ain’t no mountain high enough
KT Tunstall, Black Horse and a Cherry Tree

Mr Brightside was a big Uni anthem for me, so that’ll be there, as will many of the others. Keep the suggestions commin’! xx

  25. Inga says:

Ooh love a good playlist :-) we asked all our guests to provide us with their fave 80′s song which the band played in between their sets, here are some of their requests:

Push It – Salt n Pepper
Robert de Niro’s Waiting – Bananarama
I’m still standing – Elton John
Club Tropicana / Wake me up – Wham – can’t beat a bit of Wham!
    Caribbean Queen – Billy Ocean
Keep on Movin – Soul to Soul
Money for Nothing – Dire Straits
I’m so Excited – Pointer Sisters
    Tainted Love – Soft Cell
The one & only – Chesney Hawkes
Keep on movin – soul to soul
Amongst various others, the most obscure ended up with a bottle of bubbly…. which was ‘I was a male stripper’ by Man to Man meets Man Parish (never even heard of it!)…poor guy ended up having to do a dance in the middle of the dance floor with everyone cheeering him on, the jacket came off but not the shirt thankfully! :-)

We also asked the band to split up their songs into eras for each set which seemed to work quite well, and asked them to play the following:

    2000’s

Sex on Fire – Kings of Leon
    Love Machine – Girls Aloud
    Valerie – The Zutons

    1990′s

    My Sharona – The Knack
    20th Century Boy – T-Rex
    Moondance – Van Morrison
    Funky Music – Wyld Cherry

    1950′s & 1960′s

Can’t keep my eyes off you – Andy Williams

Heatwave – Martha Reeves & The Vandellas
    A hard day’s night – The Beatles
    Come together – The Beatles
You really got me – The Kinks
Brown Sugar – The Rolling Stones
    Satisfaction – The Rolling Stones

Our first dance song was ‘Moondance’ by Van Morrison and for our last song we had ‘Stand by Me’ by Ben E King….ahhh can’t beleive that was a year ago now! Have fun putting your lists together x

  26. Inga says:

Yikes sorry that was super long…got slightly carried away! :-)

  27. Hi Lovelies!

You are making this afternoon so much fun!

SO many new tunes fo my ipod, might make the gym a bit more bearable…..

    Charlotte xxx

  28. Brideandchic says:

Linsey- we had the vitamin string quartet version of the smiths “there is a light” for my entrance song, it’s a great way to incorporate your fave rock/ pop songs in to your big day but without scaring the grannies!
    X

  29. AJ says:

great post and loving the comments too!
Plenty of inspiration for me as I really don’t know where to start. Thanks :-)

  30. Hollypockett says:

Reeeeeally wish that this had been posted before I got married!!

Took us bloody ages to get the music right for our reception! I love a bit of r n b and hip hop, the Husband ain’t so keen so I sneaked it all in :) We split ours iPod in to sections to be played when the band were having a break and for when they’d finished at about 11.30. For the earlier slots we kept it generation friendly, and then after 11.30 we let loose with what we danced to in our youth ;-) This worked so well, seeing our parents with their hands in the air to Show Me Love and On a Ragga Tip was amazing!

We also asked guests to send back their faves with the RSVP – my 10 year old niece asked for Peter Andre’s Mysterious Girl. Seeing as she was my FG, I had no choice but to oblige. However, I also taught her to do the running man to MC Hammer (while wearing my 5 inch Louboutin’s) so I redressed the balance!

    Some of our favourites are…

    Brown Eyed Girl Van Morrison
Dancing on the Ceiling Lionel Richie
Baby Give it up KC and SunshineBand
Don’t You Want Me The Human League
    Easy Lover Phil Collins
    Stick Together Roxy Music
    Beat It MJ
Don’t Leave me This Way Communards
    Ain’t Nobody Chaka Khan
Got to Be Real Cheryl Lynn
I Found Lovin Fat Man Band
Give me the Reason Luther Vandross
    All The Way Frank Sinatra

  32. Abi says:

Strike, Liquid, SL2, N-trance, Candi Staton, Black Box…. seriously, THIS HAS GOT ME SO EXCITED!

  33. Kathryn says:

My DJ has a website where I can go on and add my ‘must plays’ so I have been adding to it when I’m in the mood for a few months now! My list features a lot of the same songs as Charlotte, I will also be pinching a few that went down well at my sisters wedding – Beatles All You Need Is Love for one – their surname is Clubbs so everyone sang along to ‘All You Need Is Clubbs’! It was such a special moment. I also have to have Rocking All Over The World by Status Quo, and will demand that everyone does their best disco dad-dancing!
I think a good mix of pop, rock, soul and Motown and everyone will be happy.

  34. Kathryn says:

Rebecca who posted about Solution – are you Newcastle University alumni by any chance?

  35. Cat says:

There’s only one song I want at my wedding but it will be accompanied by arse-slapping, ring finger pointing, wall running, krumping, terrible, embarassing dancing. And then I’m going to throw the bouquet.

    You’ve guessed it ….Single Ladies

  36. Jen says:

These comments have reminded me of a few songs I’d forgotten about! Our task this weekend is to finish our Ipod playlists for our afternoon drinks reception, for the band’s interval and for after the band have finished – our venue is open until 3am! Loving HollyPockett’s playlist – lots of those tunes are on our list!
Our first dance is the Paul Weller version of Thinking of You – can’t wait!
    Jx

  37. Alice says:

I am loving this post – I see a lot of varied and different song requests from Brides and Grooms and every one makes me smile :)
Adele – Make you feel my love is always beautiful for a first dance but for me it would be ‘Moon River’; I am a massive Breakfast at Tiffany’s fan!
    xxx

  38. Leona says:

Hollypocket that playlist rocked my world! :) x

  39. Gilly Bean says:

Gosh, it’s like RMW is constantly reading my mind! Playlist – DONE! Although we are also asking guests for their favourite song choices when they RSVP – even if they pick a more classical song we will ask the pianist to play it during drinks reception or dinner. I CAN’T WAIT to see everyone’s choices…………

Thanks for your great ideas ladies; I think Rock My Wedding should be renamed Plan My Wedding, as it just makes the whole darn thing a breeze!

  40. Luci says:

I’m so lucky- Keiron has this one licked! He is an absolute music nazi so has spent about a year sorting it all out- and the boy done good! (phew!)
However, I did have to reign him in a little as he had hired a really dancey DJ for the evening- Smack My Bitch Up as my first dance? I don’t think so!
We have my oldest school friend singing, an Ipod, a string trio and a (not so ravey) DJ. So excited!

  41. Rebecca says:

Kathryn. Class of 2006!! Castle Leazes 2003. He lived above me in halls and we met on the first day.

Our first kiss was actually in Wiggle. Shameful!

  42. TigerTea says:

This is a brilliant post, we only emailed our list to our DJ last week, so the timing is great. Now we just have to decide on our first dance….

As well as our “must-have”s we also had a few songs on a “for the love of God, please DO NOT play this” list. Only about 5, but after attending a friend’s wedding where the DJ basically bullied them into doing a conga, I felt I had to draw the line somewhere. “Waterloo” is also on there. I love a bit of Abba but why play that for the billionth time? They have plenty of other great dancing tunes!
Sorry, rant over. I’m trying really hard not to be a bridezilla ;-)

And Hollypockett – Baby got Back?! Brilliant! Can’t believe we forgot that one :-D

  43. Lizzie says:

Umm I totally had Hanson at out wedding…and Bewitched!!! (It was a hen weekend song!) Oh the shame!

  44. We didn’t have a wedding music list, as we got married outside by a lighthouse (and just us two!) – but some of those tunes would DEFINITELY be on my list if I were going to have more traditional wedding!

One of my favourite wedding first dances was where the bride and groom rocked out with blow-up guitars to ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ by Queen. It was just awesome!

  45. sarah says:

Love that you kicked off with Kylie! We’ve opted for a {tribute} band…but have ensured there’s a playlist organised for the meal….and yes, Kylie will feature for sure!

  46. Kathryn says:

Rebecca, I am the year above you but I met H2B when I was in my 3rd year and he had already graduated. We got together in Sea! At least Wiggle and Sea are better than the boat that would be embarrassing!

I am not sure we are going to fit in all the above before 1 am but thankyou so much all for the inspiration.. we had fun putting that list together. Mwhaaa X

  49. Caroline K says:

Oohh this is spooky – we just started making our list this evening. Am going to cross-reference it tomorrow with this one and all the great comments which I don’t have time to read now!

  50. amy f says:

Belinda, are you talking about Kerry and Brendan by any chance?

  51. Penny says:

Loulou – Crash is by the Primitives…. one of my faves!

My boyfriend and I met through playing in the same band and going to the same gigs for years, and now play in a wedding band, so at least we get a free band for our evening do (although my Mum is VERY cross that I’m playing at my own wedding!)

Needless to say, choosing our wedding music has been the most stressful part so far. We have 9 weeks to go and still haven’t really decided on anything apart from

You Make My Dreams Come True by Hall & Oates

    Cuddly Toy by Roachford

    and

The Way You Make Me Feel by Michael Jackson, (which is looking like it might be our first dance)

Great selections so far everyone! To the girl who said she picked Journey because it was a favourite before it got over-exposed – I feel your pain. We’ve been playing that song for ages, and I do a little disclaimer now explaining that we’re not being populist, we just love 70s AOR (then we play Toto – Hold The Line straight afterwards to prove our point)

  52. Hollypockett says:

Glad I could help Leona and TigerTea!

I have so much junk in the trunk that Baby Got Back is my theme tune :)

Here’s to loading up the iPod for a sunny Saturday afternoon!

Durhhh TV sang ‘baby I don’t care’ didn’t they?

That famous 80′s blonde bob got me all in a cuffuffle!

    Cheers Penny! xx :0)

  54. Abi says:

Penny – I know exactly what you mean. I like Glee but me & my boy sit there and go ‘doh! another of our favourite songs ruined – brilliant…’

Considering your music taste(Toto, MJ as first dance!) and the fact that you are IN a band – where are you based?

  55. Penny says:

    Abi- we’re Leeds based.

Glee has ruined my record collection.

I loved that you picked Reef!!! AND Primal Cream AND The Knack! Good choices! Cheers from Brazil.

  58. Rosy says:

I was getting really stuck trying to sort of my reception music, but thank you RMW I can always rely on you to produce the goods…. and of course the excellent posts also really helped.
Massive thank you to everyone. Mwah xx

  59. Rosy says:

ps do you know if the band featured above are available for bookings?

  60. Laura says:

Abi – pleased to see The Frames featuring on your list, our first dance is going to be ‘Star Star**’!
Other than that, got to have MJ, Gaga, Britney, Diana Ross, and – because I’m a child of the 90s, a bit of Spice Girls.
Also toying with the idea of Steps ‘Tragedy’, just because I think it’d be funny to act out the video whilst I’m in my dress.

  61. Amber says:

My friend asked me to do her dance wedding mix and I was freaking out until I found this. Love it! Perfection!
