Planning

There is nothing more romantic than a watercolour colour palette for your wedding. All those soft, muted colours give never ending scope for a whole host of pretty. When we first saw the new Monsoon Bridal Collection we did a little swoon at just how beautiful the dresses were. Think relaxed and ethereal with a bohemian twist. Soft fabrics and pretty embellishments to create a look that is undeniably feminine. Free spirited and stylish, the new collection of Monsoon wedding gowns delicately fuse vintage inspired pieces with more contemporary styles. The whole collection sits wonderfully with one of our favourite wedding trends at the moment, Watercolour. Such a elegant yet ethereal scheme that can work wonderfully for a pretty country affair or a chic city wedding. We feature many a wedding here on RMW where the bridesmaids and flowergirls are wearing Monsoon designs and we are sure the new collection will soon be making an appearance too. The collection is full of the prettiest muted shades in a myriad of designs that will keep your best girls very happy indeed. From lilac to green, bluebell to blush pink. Mix and match the designs and shades in a veritable artists palette. We adore the long floral dresses in the new collection with their subtle whimsical designs that look like the softest brush strokes. There is also a new 'twist me tie me' dress with eight key styles and multitude of possibilities. For your littlest members of the wedding party we think they will adore feeling like a flower fairy for the day. Layers of tulle, florals and sparkle will have them twirling and smiling the whole day. The colours are super pretty in shades of pink, blue, lilac and soft ivory with the prettiest bows, lace and embellishments. And for the page boys you can choose from the cutest waistcoats and shirts. No outfit is complete without accessories. From shoes, to bags to jewellery. There are even beautiful shrugs and veils to choose from to ensure the perfect wedding day look.

Watercolour Inspiration

There are so many gorgeous ways to continue this colour scheme throughout your day. The simplest and most effective is with your choice of blooms. Opt for a whimsical unstructured bouquet filled with a beautiful palette of colours and different shapes. You want it to look like it has just been painted on to canvas, with those soft blurred edges of the petals. The whole look should be reminiscent of a Monet with elegant but relaxed decor and displays. A stunning cake table should be a prerequisite for this style of wedding. Layer up glittering glass stands with cakes and deserts in the palest pinks, greys and lilacs. Scatter on beautiful flowers and fresh fruit to complete the look.
