What Jenny Did – part 1 “The Proposal”

So we met (over the internet) almost 4 years ago. Him having just returned from a year off travelling and feeling totally deflated about life in the UK. Me working long hours, no time for social activites and taking my online shopping to the next level -I managed to bag myself a man, and a good man at that.

A relationship quickly developed, I was totally unprepared for it, and I tried to resist his handsome ‘Duncan from Blue’ like charms but it was no good. I had to admit that I loved him.

I never imagined it would happen, but whilst travelling in India earlier this year we topped our trip off with a visit to the Taj Mahal in Agra. Breathtaking it was. Like a living, breathing object. The sheer sight of it brought a tear to my eye, and teamed with the history of the worlds most famous monument and all that love well…. I guess something came over Duncan from Blue and before I knew it he was down on one knee, with a ring he’d had stashed in his pocket for a few weeks, I think he said a few things about ‘always loving me’ and ‘knowing he was gonna marry me the minute he clapsed eyes on me’ but I was having me one of them out of body experiences, where all you can hear is your heartbeat banging away in your ears, I could see his mouth moving though, and the terrified look on his face, which only got worse when nerves got the better of me and I couldn’t stop laughing. Like full on laughing, hysterically. Which then turned to me sobbing my heart out saying the likes of ‘things-like-this-don’t –happen-to-me’ and generally causing a scene and having a full on snot and tearfest (nice), and making poor Duncan from Blue probably want to retract the offer and run a mile from this jibbering mess!

So a pretty romantic, and totally surprising engagement, I honestly had no idea and hadn’t dropped any hints.

He totally knocked my socks off.

Just like he did when we first met.

The boy did good.
