What the Wife LOVED …….in 2009.

Yep it’s officially 2010 so what better way to say “Goodbye” to 2009 than with a round up of all the loveliness from the last 12 months.

This list might go on a bit so apologies in advance. However – would absolutely love to hear about your 2009 greatest moments… so if you get a second or two please drop us a comment on this ‘ere post.

Ta.

So in no particular order ( ok except for number 1)…. here are the things in 2009 that rocked my world.

1) Has got to be becoming a Mrs…Friday the 29th May 2009 was officially the best day of my life. Ever.

2) As a result of number 1) writing my original blog “You Rock My World” and subsequently creating www.rockmywedding.co.uk.

Who knew a new career path could be born from just one day eh?

3) Re-discovering photography. Used to be pretty good as a kid ( used to enter geeky nature competitions and everything)….. my new Nikon D90 is like my favourite item in the whole wide world.

Although Mr Nikon may have some competition for affections as Santa ( baby) kindly dropped me a Holga down the chimney – I’ve yet to have a proper go but I am already a little bit in love with her chunky plastic fabulousness.

4) Appearing in Cosmopolitan Bride magazine. I was ( and still am) made up about the whole thing. I have written an article for the next issue even – more on this in a post coming soon!!

5) Finding “perfect” things.

The perfect nude lipstick – courtesy of Suqqu number 16, a piece of pinky beige perfection if ever there was one.

The perfect pair of tights ( Wolford black matt 80 denier – leg lengthening at its best, go buy some if its the last thing you do this party season people)

….. and wait for it…….the perfect LBD!!!!!!!!!

Yup I found it.

It’s cute, it’s simple, it’s by Twenty8Twelve and it was HALF PRICE in the www.my-wardrobe.com sale.

2009-1

6) The lovely and the amazing Madam Contra. She is a brilliant, and I couldn’t hope to have a nicer or more hard working partner in this whole Rock My Wedding roller coaster experience.

7) You. Our readers, followers and supporters.

Because that’s what it’s all about – bringing a little bit of rock n roll and a LOT of pretty to your Big Days.

We salute you.

And mark my words 2010 is going to be even better.

Big HUGE 12 months of love

Mrs O’Shea xxx

Thanks so much Stacey – I loved reading this. Wasn’t sure if anyone would be up and about and reading on New Years day!

I am so with you on the Mulberry bag – I don’t have one but am currently admiring a little leather Mulberry “pouch” which I would love to use for my make-up.

Sounds like you had a great year and here’s to your lovely wedding in July!

Happy new year to one and all. Have been loving this blog since it started so thank you Caos and Contra! 2009 has been a fab year for the following reasons…

    1. Getting engaged in April in Sorrento, Italy
    2. Feeling happy for being engaged and all loved up ever since then!
    3. Enjoying the wedding planning
    4. Discovering Ted Baker, my new favourite shop (just spent a small fortune on their sale, but it was nearly all half price, so think how much I saved…)
    5. Having a happy and healthy family and being able to spend the festive period with them.

    2009 A Vintage Year because..
    1. Receiving a hoped for marriage proposal in January.
    2. Marrying My True love on August 22nd – wonderful to celebrate the ceremony and celebrations with family and friends.
    3. My Perfect Finds

Bliss Footfile – it is as good as they claim.
General enjoyment of all wedding related purchases and a great excuse to spend money…

    5. Discovering Blog Love. It started through weddings (RMW is the only wedding one I check daily) but have discovered a whole world of other gorgeous blogs out there…

    2. Virtually meeting Charlotte…you know why missus!!

    3. Finding the wedding dress of my dreams…completely out of the blue!

    4. Countless unforgetable moments with my soon to be husband!!

  7. Anna K says:

2009 – wish I could do it all over again!

    1) Saying “I do” (how predictable) and waking up a wife

    2) Christmas in Prague

    3) Laser eye treatment…if you’ve ever considered it but balked at the price…get it. Just get it. Trust me it will CHANGE YOUR LIFE

    4) Discovering The Corset, both at my burlesque hen do and in my wedding dress

    5) Getting over my “linguist’s block” and starting to speak languages again….all that blood sweat and tears at uni was not a waste!

    6) Getting over my writer’s block and starting to scrawl again, I’m dying to pen a bodice-ripper

    6) Discovering Benefit’s She-laq, truly the magical make-up sealant…without which, Mr K would definitely have been saying his vows to Alice Cooper (slightly more superficial but just as important, I feel!)

  8. Julie Dawson says:

    Can I add mine too.
    1. Starting the Wedding Genie, great fun and a brilliant new career.
    2. Celebrating my first wedding anniversary with my scrumptious husband. I love him even more now!
    3. My best friend finding the man of her dreams and getting married in Cyprus this year, and now me being a bridesmaid.
    4. Having an article on Rock My Wedding.
    5. Starting my own blog and learning all the time, loving it when people add comments.
    6. Christmas eve with my gorgeous husband reflecting on our fabulous year.
    7. Oh and thank god for semi permanent make up, redone in November!!
